sxmichel
Hi All, I would like to get some feedback on some ideas for effective basslines, to use in psytrance. What are some techniques you guys are using to produce these melodic basslines? First thing that comes to mind is that most psy producers are probably using a matrix sequencer of some kind, then running 2 audio samples of the basslines, to make it more punchy, then applying compression. Any Ideas? Synths? Reason? Waves? Sashqa

Reason? YES! Waves? YES!!
Guest djnemo
And you can try and change a note every now and then... that example (sorry cgranber, no flame there ok?) is not very melodic Just to make some variation in the bassline. Just my opinion of course. You explain very good though!

PsychoMachine42
I use Kontakt for my basslines...the sound I use decides how I write it...I like using a simple one-note bassline for darker stuff...
