Hmmm... long time since I looked up the mastering guys. Well, Kevin Metcalfe is one name that I remember. He did some stuff for Blue Room, like Koxbox and Juno Reactor. Probably many more. I did just a quick look at discogs. Then we have Dave at the Townhouse and probably some other guys. Hallucinogen and Doof. Someone... was it Ott? Let's check. Oh Kevin Metcalfe mastered the Mir album. =)) Yeah, the noise and crackles souldn't be there. That is annoying. But I would go for the big labels releases. Like Blue Room, Dragonfly and Twisted. They knew what they where doing. =))

i'd definitely have suspectd some auto quantisation happening there. but then i'd also have expected a small delay between button presses and the sound. there must be some trick at work here maybe he alters the timing of the video and aligns it to a grid in postproduction

I mean, I know I'm supposed to like it and I really want it to be a stunning release, but... Let's be honest unless your have a Trump supporter-esque level of sycophancy this release isn't gonna make it on most people's top ten. Hell it's not even the best in their own catalog. It's good, but not Etnica out of retirement good. Or D5 good. IMHO it lacks depth, doesn't have the explosive power that a lot of releases today have, and it really seems to be a stripped down version of what they used to do. Good, but not great. I definitely expected more.
