  1. If we talk about modern KbBB patterns, the phase relationships between the kick tail and the first bass note, at the point where they overlap, are very important. It's one of the things that define the groove. Ofc you have to use a synth with osc phase retrigger or a sample for the bass, an analog synth or emulation with free running phase is useless for that. This video corers that.

  2. Hello everyone :) Long time lurker but don't post much. I recently finished a first track in a what the aim will be a bigger project. Inspired by the 2000's era (golden era imho) and I wanted to share with you guys; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBrrD_RyuVo Open to feedback of course :-)

  3. Cool, I didn't know Andromeda and Chromosome were related. Chromosome made one of the best S-Range remixes out there and it even fits in here:

  4. i prefer to do it by ear (only confirming afterwards with the oscilloscope). with the oscilloscope it's easy to spot when it's totally out of phase, but the point where it sounds best is hard to find only with the oscilloscope (it's most often when kick and bass are mostly but not quite in phase) and depends on the exact kick and bass. @topic i prefer hive or zebra for basses. it's just so easy to get a good bass patch with hive.

  5. and hard to do by ear! an oscilloscope is probably almost necessary. besides the synths already mentioned i use retrologue alot, since im a cubase user, and it has a great analog-like sound with snappy filters and envelopes, and kinda sylenth1 like modulation options. + an arp. so im pretty happy with it =)

  8. Absolutely agree with that. I still love that style and wonder why it's not produced anymore. Your track is amazing, man! Great production, great melodies and all the genre characteristics 100% nailed. The track might be longer tho.

  9. 12 moons reminded me of another stellar track:

  10. Sublime thread! So, I think you're a bit more after the melodic and a bit trancy side of the old progressive (like Human Blue) - not after the kind of "hard bangers" that I posted in the other thread ... sure I could come with some Patara or Hatikwa now, but "imma keep the flow" of your conversation: Of the old ones, I can throw in 12 Moons and Matenda: and of the newer ones, I can recommend you the upbeat side of Solar Fields: Fun fact: all three of these artists have an ambient side. 12 Moons = Healer, Matenda = Chilling Matenda, Solar Fields = Solar Fields
