  2. the things posted up to now suggest goa trance. if we do down that route i could contribute some melodies played with oldschool sounding patches, atmospheres or 909 hatlines. if we go the fullon/psytrance route i could contribute something for every purpose (from knb over percussion, melodies and sweeps to semi-modular fx) but wouldn't want to do the arrangement. so i guess it's time to decide on the style, bpm and key of the track. unless anyone has any objections, i'd suggest 145 and F because 145 is neither particularly fast nor slow fitting almost any style, and F is easy to play and sits right in the sweep spot where the low end sounds best on most systems. i also think we need something like a shared dropbox folder where everyone can access all midis and audio files plus add their own input.

  3. YES there is the plan to revive the contest - I was busy with the rules till recently ... will see, maybe we can launch this... Huh, it worked for me ... I just copypasted the link text. Browser: Firefox Listened to it. It's cool stuff so far - instant idea: Take @Veracohr 's track, enrich it with @Psychedelic Superbeast 's melody number 3 from the first video (the one that starts at 0:39 ... you might have to adapt the tonal relation though so that it matches) ... and the whole thing might develop into something more goatrancey in the progress of the track, ideas for that are still missing in my head though... I need to get a Cubase (I only can work with Cubase, we used it for Skeletone - but my mate is decomissioning the sudio and takes the Cubase dongle with him, it's his) to be able to participate in this (which I'd be up to) ... and I need to go for a legal one. I'll see what I can afford ... have to get an audio system first ... one after the other

  4. A fine debut album here, demonstrating an impressive level of maturity and diligence: it is immediately apparent that a lot of thought and practice has gone into each track as they are all well-structured and feature harmonious sounds that have been carefully pruned and edited to fit together well and hence create a floaty atmosphere and effect. If the artist's intention (always problematic to ascertain) is indeed to create an aural space voyage, then the album succeeds triumphantly. On the down side, the artist is fairly obviously a big Astral Projection fan, and at times I found myself wondering who put on the AP track I had never heard before. At one level, this is high praise. At another level, the album is for sure derivative, and more could have been done to sculpt a more unique sound and identity. Nevertheless, this is a minor caveat, because this is undoubtedly a good album and significantly better than many nu Goa efforts. Indeed, I'm hoping to hear more from this talented artist and take another trip back to space. ~*~

  5. Calm down, mate.. No bad feelings against you, nor any intention to question your experience or your impression.. I just expressed my personal opinion, which is a result of active involvement in the scene since the mid 90ies.. To me (and not just me, I can assure you..) Filteria and other musicians of the so called Neo-Goa style, just aren't Goa artists.. In general, NEO-GOA IS NOT GOA.. The real "Goa" thing, concerning parties, music composed, inspiration, came to its end around early 00s, 2003, let's say.. Since then, things changed radically.. Almost everything became over-commercialized, mainstream, targeting to the masses and therefore loosing its underground character.. I could write pages over pages about that, but I think that people who really experienced it at the right times and places, with the right music, at the right state of mind can totally understand what I mean.. To me, Neo-Goa is just a bad replica of the past.. Simple as that.. Once again, these are my personal thoughts.. No intention to blame, or turn against anybody.. Musical taste is matter of personal choice, but facts are facts...

  6. Comparing Xenomorph to Filteria sounds unfair and rather offensive, to my ears at least.. that's why, probably...
