  1. So many interesting live sets, through the years. If I have to recall the best gigs I have attended , live or otherwise, I cannot but mention the rare chance I have had to hear a dj set of Doof in London in 2000 which is probably one of the very last times he played the genre, and it was mindblowing. That night after him Tristan closed the party and it was also absolutely stellar, he played a ghostly track that haunts me to this day aha! The same year I also attended Astral Projection at the Brixton Academy, Infected Mushroom at Cloud 9 and Technossomy, all in London in the winter of year 2000, amazing shows. Then of course I cannot but mention the multiple times I have seen Simon: in London both as Hallucinogen and Shpongle (both twice) in Zurich where he played live as Hallucinogen in a real castle and then at ZNA as Shpongle in 2019, where it was a pleasure to finally meet him personally as he worked with us and licensed a track for the official compilation. In a completely different style I cannot but mention the absolutely epic and fantastic vs. of Ka-Sol and BOTFB in Romania at the first Apsara, that was absolutely wicked, and a set to remember. MWNN always stole the show at ZNA and it was epic both in 2017 and 2019, a memory to treasure. At ZNA was also a fantastic experience to see both Ree-K and Masa and hear Masa in an epic dj set where he played proto goa and ebm as well. And last but not least, I am SO SO happy to have heard Ubar Tmar at ZNA 2019 which was the wildest craziest funnier and most original artist I have ever heard live, hands down. In the hopes of someday be able to have him release somewhere, I am so happy to have woken up and danced like nuts at a very difficult hour! And quoting mars who answered a while ago, the liveset he mentioned as being one of the best he ever attended of Total Eclipse in Bordeaux in 1997, well, you can now experience it first hand, as if you were there as DAT Universe just released a marvellous 3CD featuring the complete live and many other unreleased tracks.
  2. Hello again, so we are very proud to announce the release of the first instalment of DAT Universe, Total Eclipse - Live in Bordeaux 1997. DAT Universe is pleased to expand on a release that showcases one of the most foundational and unique projects in the global Goa scene: Total Eclipse. This fabled band has been active since before the term ‘Goa Trance’ came into use and has been an innovative influence on the evolution of this musical language. In their halcyon years in the 90s, the trio of French musicians produced an unparalleled volume and variety of music that embodied the incredible versatility, creativity, and expansiveness that was the heart of the scene, from growling cyber-rock stormers and energizing psychedelic numbers to playfully quirky productions and ethereal morning music. Regardless of the flavour of a given work, each was masterfully crafted, with impeccably balanced harmonic, rhythmic, and melodic elements. No band created as much music with this much variety, including the volume of both released and unreleased productions - something that this DAT Universe release will reveal as some long-secret tracks are made available for the first time. The 3-CD set ‘Live in Bordeaux’ features both live and studio productions in an array of styles that showcases the project’s astounding originality. The first disc centres around a superb 1997 live set that captures the incredible energy that the dynamic trio brought to their live gigs, a performance supplemented by three more numbers from another thrilling live appearance. The second disc features a selection of unreleased tracks by these innovative musicians, both alternate mixes of well-known classics as well as original compositions. The final disc is a fascinating exploration of the trio’s early work as they were forging their unique sound signatures: in an array of tempos and styles, these early productions provide a glimpse into the evolution of this unique band’s distinctive music. A stunning release that is sure to be prized by collectors and fans of the best psychedelic electronic music of the 1990s! Available June 23: https://datuniverse.bandcamp.com/album/bordeaux-live-1997 Hopefully this will please you all and get back on track with the regular flow of news and music related comments. I really appreciate the intervention of DJ Sunborn and Imba who contributed sapiently to the discussion Cheers!
  3. Well, it seems that if I disappear for a while to actually finish the transitional work and don't come here, you guys really miss me ! So one thing at a time please: First of all this thread is about the work we have been doing as a team for years and I believe we did some great releases, which were always praised, especially by some of the members here as well. A forum It's not really my favourite place to come to, I'd rather work on facebook where updates are posted more often and where we have also Mark curating some awesome flashback Fridays every week. If that is not being active, as we were finished preparing an incredible release, I don't know what is I am really pleased to announce the 3CD of Total Eclipse has been finally sent to the press last week. By the way, just as a side note, the music and artwork were ready in January but there was a delay with the booklet, which features the history of Total Eclipse that was acquired through different interviews that our collaborator Cosmogenesis took at different times with the band. After the transcription there was a revision and then an accurate check and revision courtesy of Mark (DJ Solitare) and Pavlos who always help creating wonderful booklets. Then, there was the hard work of finding the right photos for said booklet and all this process took months, so, that how we arrived to June this year. Finally we also launched DAT Universe the new label which will include other genres and sub-labels too, so yes, we all have been pretty busy and frankly coming to comment here was not a priority. I also have a real job to attend, which is not related to music, so there's that. Also, in the meantime we continued to release almost monthly with UnreleasedGoaRecords, I worked on those releases as well, through the whole time, so it's not really we have not done antyhing. Finally, I am not on a tropical island, unfortunately, and cannot really see the point of messages about a work I did for a compilation, which was agreed with the label owner. If someone wants to discuss anything with me, should do so on facebook and privately, not on a forum. I thought the work we did as a collective was something appreciated and if a label takes time to make things in a diligent way, gets accused of disappearing. Bandcamp will be launched at the end of the month when the Total Eclipse CD will be released, and hope that this message covers everything. I probably should have this thread closed at this point because I don't really like the vibe going on, will have a new thread about the new label which should be better.
  4. @Penzoline, it's one full liveset on the first cd, one full cd of studio material and one full cd of their early years (proto goa), and yes everything is unreleased and from the 90s :)!
  5. @Grayling : your albums have not disappeared at all, you can access all that you have purchased before, it's still available in your bandcamp profile, look for them. And of course when we re-open the page they will be there as well.
  6. Hello everyone, we can share some more news now, in all these months we have worked actively to the reorganisation of the label and we are almost done, we have recently received some papers and we are getting ready. During this whole process we had to close everything down and that is exactly what we have done. When we can, we will re-open the website and bandcamp of course, but this still needs to wait a little longer. What I can instead announce is that we have reached an agreement with Total Eclipse during the last ZNA and we have worked since then to a fantastic release that will bepublished on 3CD, we are practically ready to go to pressing now. We are super excited about this and very happy to be releasing this historical release. Happy New Year :)!
  7. Hello Everyone, OK, let's all take a breath and address a few things. First of all, I can see that me just taking a pause from the goa trance scene was interpreted as basically any possible interpretation ever. But let's then answer about some of the things that were expressed on this thread: A number of DAT releases expired past the original contracts with the artists after X number of years, and so we are renegotiating to continue to make remaining copies available as possible. Meanwhile, Covid also put a big halt to several planned releases for the year, which we are continuing to prepare for the time when we can move forward (in one case, mastering is done, artwork and booklets in preparation). And you will see that our Unreleased Goa sub label continues to release every couple of weeks. I realize how the no-notice suspension of our bandcamp while we undergo updating logistics and preparations could lead to speculation but the rumours being spread here are simply not true. Thank you for staying tuned while we update the website, catalogue, and new releases. About me logging in and not commenting, well, I have been a lot of time offline and a few times I connected I have read a few things but did not feel like writing explanations on how I run this venture and the choice we made in the meantime. I was more preoccupied with the global crisis, the pandemic and also the fact a lot of people have lost their job and are in difficulties, so actually we wanted to halt all operations to see how things were looking and about to be globally. I am sorry someone feels like our records are only good as frisbee and I'd like this person to write me privately and tell me exactly what were his concerns and what releases he has bought, if he feels like. Oh and lastly, I had to change my password twice, and a couple of times i got banned for retrying to log some times, so i did not feel really at ease and it might be someone tried to hack my account. In the meantime I have been living in the countryside to be safe from a terrible infection that in italy was very strong, so to be safe. And with less internet we slowed down but we indeed worked a lot on the UGR sublabel to show we were still active.
  8. @psyhoe, we had asked for some gatefgold as large as the ones used for the Etnica 3LP but it turns out they printed them 1mm narrower, hence it's a bit more tricky to insert the vinyl. However, if you open the gatefold entirely, and insert them one by one, they actually fit correctly but I agree we need to use some gatefold that are a bit larger on the spine, next time.We don't like the trible gatefold though, but we'll see in the future. Glad you love the result, we are really happy of them! @denstrow, unfortunately we were not given the rights to distribute said track in digital format, as we had a deal for the physical copies only of the ZNA compilation, I do hope you'll find a way to get it ripped, maybe ask a friend? So sorry about this but it was already a privilege to be able to release it at all!
  9. Are you ready?! Have a look at the photo and then read the official announcement : I am on the moon really DAT Records are incredibly happy to present the expanded version of the mythical Tetrahedron album for the first time ever on vinyl! A wonderful collector's edition housed in a beautiful triple Deluxe Gatefold, a stellar addition for everyone who appreciated the wonderful alchemy created by the Italian Maestros. It comes in 3 different editions: Black / Fluo Neon Green / Splattered Neon Green with Dark Green and Black. Pressed at 180 grams per record, it exists in only 69 copies per edition available to the public. We used premium virgin vinyl only and have worked with a team of audio engineer to ensure the colours used, would reproduce the music perfectly, even on the splatter edition. It's rare to have this kind of effect with no audio compromise, but we have achieved it and we are sure you will love the result. Crop Circles - Tetrahedron A Lunar Civilization (Pleiadians Remix) B1 Antonomasia (Remix) B2 Daffy Duck On The Comet C1 Pentagon C2 Classic Process [Hale-Bopp] D1 Cerealogy D2 Full Mental Jackpot [Etnica Remix II] E1 Ghost Circle E2 No More Singles (Remix) F1 Fried Vegans F2 Skunkerie Written-by: Crop Circles Artwork: Miro Moric & Federico DraekeMastering: Jaroslav Valo @ Analog Dimension Style: Goa Trance As you may have noticed, there are some never before heard exclusive tracks that will be available for the very first time and only on this release, making it extra special. We were able to locate these mythical and rare tracks on some lost DAT tapes that the band had archived in Milan and that had forgotten about. The music has been gently mastered, taking extra care in preserving the dynamics of the original recordings, after an attempt restoration process that was needed for some of the tracks found on the DAT tapes. The tracks have been taken from source tapes once again and mastered by Analog Dimension, with a special treatment designed for vinyl, so once again we started from scratch to ensure the best possible result. Prepare for an interstellar trip, a joyful explosion of extra terrestrial music that will take you to places you cannot imagine or dream. Official Release Date: 23rd November 2019 - Available for ordering from the 16th (now) Limited to ONE copy per customer, the Vinyl will be available through DAT Records website or on Bandcamp. Digital Download will appear later on, for now it's vinyl only.
  10. Hello everyone, this post is to introduce our little new adventure, a sublabel that was born after many years working within the realms of unreleased music. We have received a lot of promos from artist from all the eras and have also actively searched and investigated a lot of projects that were otherwise forgotten. The idea came naturally as an extension to DAT Records and to create a digital sublabel was a necessity as there is a huge interest for the oldschool goa trance and psytrance music in all its forms. With this sub-label in fact, we are trying to promote not just the typical sound that we would promote within the main label but to open wide our horizons and include some styles and genres that we normally have not published. Will it be including modernly produced music? Not yet, as we do have a huge catalogue of releases almost ready to go and it is thanks to the work of the whole team of the Unreleased Goa blog that we have achieved this. But this is the adventure mostly of Vas Cosmogenesis, a precious collaborator who was through in his investigations and relentlessly contacted hundreds of artists in the years to prepare for this launch. I came up with the label name and we started moving early in this year. Now you can listen to the fruit of our hard work and we do hope to get some support and appreciation for all that has been done. We are very happy of the upcoming releases and you'll be surprised, I am sure! Enjoy http://www.datrecords.it/dat/unreleased-goa-records/ugr-announcement.html https://unreleasedgoarecords.bandcamp.com/
  11. Search no more! It has been officially remastered and released :)!! https://unreleasedgoarecords.bandcamp.com/releases

This music will make you dream of oriental landscapes, of lotus flowers, of psychedelic fragrances from a different universe, and feel the special energy of those years. The DAT tapes were preserved as a treasure by the artist and we are so lucky that they remained in perfect condition for so long. All the tracks contained in this deluxe triple edition were in fact produced between 1992 and 1998, as explained in detail in the 8-page booklet included. The collaboration with master K.U.R.O. is something that the label wanted to do for a very long time to promote the incredible Japanese sound worldwide and to create a bond with the land of the magic. DAT Records is so proud to present a spectacular selection from the Japanese masters and we are sure that you may remember these tracks from partying in Japan while others will be delighted to hear these compositions for the first time. The music has been remastered from the original master files by Analog Dimension, and both the artist and the label are very happy with the results, so have fun and enjoy this superb music. 14. I just want to inform that I have been refunded on my pledge of the campaign and that even if I am sad the album was never finished, Kristian made things right. We hope he may finish the album sometimes and put it on bandcamp maybe, that would be great and also he won't have the pressure to finish it because of the campaign.
  15. @Grayling, sorry, I don't really come regularly to psynews and certainly have not done a lot of sales/post sale assistance in the forum. I will of course help to solve this situation as surely something is not right. However I encourage everyone who make a purchase to contact me everywhere else (official dat website, bandcamp, discogs, facebook). But I really am not logging here very often or check PM, I don't get notifications if someone write me here, so I see it only if I log. That said, we will make things right
  16. Yeah sorry, all the orders have actually been shipped, but we have not updated the status on DAT shop, will do that now, thanks for the reminder! :D
  17. Around 200 were sold at ZNA, more or less, the shop was not too well advertised so people were not too aware of the CD being there, but we are happy, so we have copies for sale for sure for everyone who would want to support our work. We are so blessed to have had the chance to release all these tracks! I would expect to hear some comments about Hallucinogen track though? What do you guys think of it? It's new but sounds oldschool
  18. How was the summer everyone? We've all had a wonderful time at the ZNA Gathering festival in Portugal and over there we launched our latest release, the official compilation than Mark and I have compiled for the occasion. An explosive mix of previously unreleased killers that will delight end entertain everyone for the winter to come :). Tracklist goes like this: VA - ZNA Gathering Retro Futuristic Compilation II 1–Man With No Name - Who Is It? 2–Medicine Drum - Angelic Force (Funky Angel Mix) 3–Masa - Infinite Space 4–Tromesa - Bonanza 5–Technossomy - Elektron Bender (Live Mix) 6–Total Eclipse - Chaotic Circus (Summer 1996 Live Mix) 7–Ubar Tmar - VS (Early Mix) 8–Hallucinogen - Horrorgram (Remix) 9–Battle Of The Future Buddhas - pH+ueKKed DATCDZNA And yet every track is from the 90s except for Mr. Hallucinogen who granted us a NEW production, yes you read right, a track he has remixed in 2019, and that sounds absolutely fantastic!! You don't want to miss your copy, as Simon track is exclusive to the CD only. We believe it is really a killer compilation. KURO and Crop Circles 3LP are being pressed, and to be released shortly, The first should be ready in a week and the second , was going to be ready now but we rejected the first test pressing as we want it to be stellar this time. Infinite Zen and Nemo will come after those, but they will come out too. More news soon! Meanwhile, get your copies here: http://www.datrecords.it/dat/online-shop-2.html or here: https://datrecords.bandcamp.com/ please note that the digital download only of the compilation on bandcamp will NOT include Hallucinogen track, as per agreement with Simon.
  19. Dear beloved supporters and fan of the work of DAT Records, it is with enormous pleasure that I can say that the production of the crop circles release on vinyl is going ahead and we are very close. We should have copies in store in early July and we are so happy about it. I also want to tell you that in all these months we have worked relentlessly to make some big announcements about our future at DAT. More Exciting news, coming soon
  20. I do still have hopes that the album will eventually get released.
  21. Hello Pezcore, if you still use the forum, please contact me, i am draeke of DAT Records. cheers

  22. Thanosp81 the same designer who made 90% of the covers for DAT, Miro. He is our official designer.
  23. We want to celebrate the beginning of the Spring with some great news: K.U.R.O. the master of Japanese melodies has agreed to release an incredible album on DAT Records, rare and unreleased tracks from the 90s that will surely delight everyone. It is going to be a triple journey through the musical landscapes and textures which will include music created with the project Charm courtesy of Takeichirou Kurosaki together with Tatsuo Endo. Expect a wonderful release in about a few months! Other things are coming soon, but it was about time we properly announced DATCD014 first. The album has been in the work for some time and we are very happy of the final outcome. Tracklist coming soon ;) ありがとうございました
  24. I know this is a long shot, but I also know this forum is dwelled by a lot of people listening to all forms of electronic music. I stumbled upon a killer set of Laurent and there is a track that is very acid techno, hence maybe a cup of tea of other users around here: I did cut it out of the dj set and posted it on soundcloud, hoping it would hit a match, but zero. It was extracted from a set he played in Manchester in 2012 for his 25th djing anniversary. It's possible, as suggested by a user on youtube that it is a remix of "The Pump Panel - Ego Acid" maybe by LBS / Garnier, but if that is indeed what it is, it's unreleased. I do want to share the track seeing if anyone recognises it or concur it can be a remix of said track. This below is the mix that seems to be the most similar to the played track, but the track above has also some funky elements and a bit less aggressive acid parts.
