  1. Prince, THE ARTIST, THE SIGN. He truly is a gifted singer, and you have got to admire it was never too clear for which side he was swinging...and that added to his character. Musical-wise, some classics he did!
  2. Well knowing all the material Gilles has I don't think the selection of his new album was the best, many tracks were already released, sure he polished them and remastered and they sound better but i was hoping for only never heard before tracks. Still I bought it and like the music of course but the idea is that, if i release an album of him and we mutually agree, I only want never heard before tracks and only from the 90s that have never been properly released on any CD. I already have a possible selection of tracks like that, with the exceptions of a few tracks that were on his psychedelic home disc that after-all was not really a real release.
  3. Hello everyone, I am happy that Gilles has returned to the scene and has delivered one free ep, one full album, and some live performances around and I have been thinking for a long time to release some of his old lost forgotten tracks on DAT. I do know that there are many people liking his sound around but I would like to know what is the general idea of his music. I find it pretty mental and maybe hard to digest for many. His patterns are always intricate and the melodies are not straight in your face la-la-la (excuse the generalization). Let's say that he is hard-psychedelic rather then melodic, if you pass me the term. I have had some chat with him in the past and we were talking about an album but then things slipped because he wanted to release immediately and I had a back-list of releases that I had agreed to do before that. Now the thing is that with me more than a release per year is hard and so it didn't happen (yet) but I also wanted to test a bit the ground and hear some opinions around here .
  4. I listen to frisky radio: http://www.friskyradio.com/ and that offers some awesome sets of progressive house and tech house that many times are on the border of psychedelic. I understand exactly what you mean. Erich LH, Kevin Shiu and many other DJs deliver some awesome sets. Check it out!

    Heavy metal.

Interesting topic, I was a heavy metal fan before discovering goa trance and I think there are quite some similarities between guitar solos and certain riffs and the psychedelic swirling patterns of the synths in goa trance so by all means you may enjoy some of it even if u are a purist into electronics, a good culture of different musical genres is always nice. I would recommend the following bands/albums (my fav. for every band, but for most of these bands is hard to decide, many excellent albums): Amorphis - Elegy Angra - Holy Land Blind Guardian - Imaginations From The Other Side Burzum - Filosofem Dream Theater ‎- Falling Into Infinity Edguy ‎– Kingdom Of Madness Guns N Roses - Appetite For Destruction Helloween - Better Than Raw Iron Maiden - The Number of the Beast Manowar - The Triumph Of Steel Metallica - The Black Album Mortiis - Keiser Av En Dimensjon Ukjent (not really metal but well I group it there) My Dying Bride ‎– The Angel And The Dark River Nirvana - Nevermind Offspring - Ixnay On The Hombre Ozric Tentacles - Curious Corn Rage Against The Machine - Rage Against The Machine Well some are a bit more Rock and Punk but you got the idea...
  6. I can recommend Triskele, worked with them for Crop Circles release
  7. Finally something I can agree with. Having worked with nightlife and partied for 20 years now I can say that yes, in some clubs the audio is just too loud and really not pleasant. Some terrible experiences I have had at Fabric London in a drum n bass night (where i just happened to be, thinking it was a mixed night, i actually wanted to go clubbing house and techno but whatever) and the main room was so loud that i could hear my ear cracking for the loudness/volume, worst acoustic ever. I happened to be there another time after a year and again the volume absurdly loud in the main room and that club is seriously harming people hearing in my opinion. Last year I was for the first time in Berlin at the famous techno club, Panorama Bar / Berghaim and there they also are blasting into your ears... see here : Then some clubs, especially open air, have some great acoustic and you can enjoy music perfectly. This one for example kicks ass, Via Notte @ Corsica (but no psytrance here): But yes I do agree sometimes there is no need for this :
  8. As always thrilled to read some interesting topics on how good those artists were/are. Now though I would say it's time to say that Boris Blenn made some great tunes but i haven't heard anything spectacular from him in ages. Full On he makes, I'm not impressed. MWNN has been silent for a decade now and yes he was a master i the 90s but I would like to hear some new tracks! Technossomy is right, check out new productions on Suntrip and other labels that are delivering new goa that has energy. Or I have an idea radi, find a time machine , go back in the 90s and stay there
  9. Shiva Chandra is trying to appeal a wider audience that is for sure, but certain solutions tend to be a bit too much. Still someone might discover this artist with this sound and like it! I have heard psyhouse experiment before, let's see if they are more successful than others in doing it. It certainly is less appealing for the psytrance world though but that is maybe what they were trying to achieve.
  10. Astral Projection will never release a new album, not in this world, maybe in the next Mayan phase, who knows it has been hmm, 8 years since their last album and 7 or 6 years since they announced a new one, i don't really believe they will do it, and this subject is almost like a joke to me... but yeah , whenever they will do it, someone will still remember them (maybe). Their masterpieces were released, let's enjoy those and not think about new music, after-all, old has proven to be gold in many cases
  11. Good News Everyone! I finally could get hold of the lazy couriers that got the CDs last friday but because of all the packs they had to deliver (for the strike of last week) they did not yet reach my turn, so today late in the afternoon or tomorrow morning max they will deliver the discs, finally. So, as soon as they arrive you know they'll be shipped !
  12. That's the spirit, THANKS, I feel the pressure of many customers that rightfully are asking me, where is my CD? Well all I can say is "in transit" I don't have them myself so nobody can have them I guess and yes you bought it for me and you did good, with the private sales I can recover half the huge investment I did to release this. Now since You are all waiting the 6th at midnight (i.e. when it will be the 7th already) all will receive a download link so you will be able to listen to the music, see the complete artwork, write reviews and share your thoughts and whatnot. And the CD will arrive, that's for sure. I really wanted You all to have it before everyone else and I am phoning each and every day the pressing plant + the courier to find out when can I expect them. I don't know why the pressing plant used 2 different couriers to ship my packs. So one delivered (in the UK) while the other didn't (in Italy). This is probably the last backslash of the Mercury retrograde and all the voids of the moon we passed because of the alignments taking place in our solar system in these times. Finally, I am sure you can cope with this and enjoying the music will be hopefully cool enough
  13. Hello Everyone, thanks for all the pre-orders! Due to a strike in Italy couriers have not been delivering last week and therefore I haven't received yet the retail CD. Arabesque did though and other shops may already have the CD for sale, or will have it in the next days. I will receive my copies one of these days, probably tomorrow or Wednesday. The minute the discs arrive, they will all be shipped. Packs are ready with printed addresses and all of that, so don't worry, you will get it as soon as possible. These were unforeseen cause of major force and are totally out of my control, I haven't seen the pressed CD yet myself, unfortunately, imagine that! Hold tight, they will arrive soon!
  14. bought and added to discogs, enjoying the download already ! great album!
  15. @Padmapani, they will have in stock live in Athens as I have received an order from SunTrip, so sure, you can buy it from them, but they will get the stock later this month, so if you are on a rush to get it, you can buy it from the DAT online store. The selling price will be the same for both stores.
  16. ~ gO Go gO sUnTrIpPeRs ~ All the Best for this Super Release
  17. So since its summer for you I guess you can enjoy some "light"! I can suggest Green Nuns album if you haven't listened it for a while, a great classic and Pulse vol 1 maybe, together with Blue Planet debut album, these always do it for me!
  18. For me the wizzy noise remix is THA BOMB, i played original, remix and playa forever and ever, so for me now, the tsunami mix is outside of the universe. wizzy noise really knows how to do proper goa if they want to (yeah i know you purist would say is full on but i like it really a lot)
  19. I tried this Krussedull epic long track and I have to say it is not too bad. Now listening to some progressive psy, which isn't too bad either! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFdx7rQn6SM
  20. Yeah I guess the original remix will always win, but that was also a way to promote the all so many mixes of this fabulous track, i for one, didn't know there were 9 version till recently
  21. 22. Here are all the mixes of Trip Tonite that I could find, I think it was interesting to group together all the versions of one of their most famous classics , why not? I have a vague feeling Original Mix/Remix will win, but let's see... Trip Tonite (Original Mix) - 1996 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEkeptXz63A Trip Tonite (Remix) - 2000 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCnf2IFglDs Trip Tonite (Playa Mix) - 2001 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ytqZfDGDw4 Trip Tonite (Fractal Glider Remix) - 2004 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHHXp2sJnPA Trip Tonite (Wizzy Noise Tsunami Mix) - 2007 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTC1khR5EVk
  23. Do we have to state what is the game we are playing now (or that we last played) or the best videogame we ever played? if it's the first I will never forget the times I could end Dragon's Lair 2, without ever dying, I knew all the moves from the first to the last screen and I used to show off with that (i'm old) and is for me the best videogame ever. The paradise screen was incredibly hard, you had to remember smth like 15 moves and do them at the right second or you were dead. Laser Games ... ahhh the memories. Recently (till 2010- early 2011) I lost an incredible amount of hours playing Oblivion, and is the most recent game that I ever completed (the main plot at least, to end all the side quest you need a lifetime). Nowadays I don't have time anymore to play, but I enjoy Monkey Island 1 and 2 remakes on my iphone... and that again shows my age
  24. I have a record player : Technics SL1210 LTD with Ortofon Concorde Pro-S Cartridge, and that is a record player. Then i also have a Gramophone player with the horn to play 1894-1950s records @ 78rpm (mostly classical music). Those are very heavy vinyls and you won't find any goa trance with those, for the Gramophone player
