hello everyone, i am looking for advices for tracks in the range of 125 to 140 bpm MAX, melodic and beautiful. The perfect example is the last track of temple of chaos.. JEEZ that track is simply amazing!! A complex journey that could be very well played even outside of a party, while driving or being on the beach. I am not looking for lower tempo stuff, proper downtempo, but rather that middle tempo trance that is not banging enough for the dancefloor but perfect for these aforementioned situations. Let me know your advices.. i know there are a lot of tracks like that on suntrip and for sure on other labels so why not make a full list of them ? Something released as "full on" could be ok too if is melodic enough.. (i mean released on labels that usually make only full on modern psy stuff)

Are you interested in the good old Psynews contests ?
draeke replied to mars's topic in General Psytrance
The idea of a new contest is indeed thrilling i think. Some new producers can come out of the closet and see one of their tracks somehow "released" even if just digitally speaking. It's true there are a lot of talented guys that are now pro and released albums but i believe there are a lot of amateurs that will soon reach the level of maturity to achieve something concrete. If anything i would not encourage pro artists to participate only because they have already a career and they may put a shadow over upcoming new talents. For instance, suppose artha or e-mantra or any super talented guy sends in a track, its obvious they would be the ones picked into a contest because they do this since many years. But then comes a new guy, out of nowhere, that maybe has really cool ideas but less technical skills and his track would maybe not see the light of the day.. i would favor these kind of artists to participate to this contest. That's just a personal opinion and of course i am not suggesting to ban anyone from a public contest, i just see to listen wisely to the less technical skilled but that maybe have some new stories to tell. About the fights i have read here, come on people, this should be a forum to spend quality time and not to fight over which label is favorite or better promoted or whatever. I think the promo section allows everyone to promote his upcoming release and that's all. When DAT posts a new cd coming gets 2000 hits, when suntrip does it gets 4000+ but hey, that's normal, they have been out there for the triple the time i have been running mine.. and so goes on. Everyone is free to answer the topic it wants and if there is more suntrip fans than other labels that's just a fact, nobody forces anyone to answer to a particular post or not. I don't really see any manipulations around of any sort. -
where has the people gone chatting about the Goa scene in Belgium ? i hope this is not off-topic but since i noticed the Belgian forum has closed down for reasons unknown to me, I'd like to know if there is an alternative to that one. did they all come here?

OK guys, I've got a bunch of no name tracks here with sound spanning from 1995 to 2009. There is many different styles here but all tracks are really interesting in my opinion and i would love to get them identified. I am sure half of them are released, a couple may be some new artist samples that i downloaded around when they were promoting themselves and a few are monsters oldschool goa probably very hard to id. But let's see what comes out here. Before you ask, i don't remember at all where i got any of these tracks, so i can't really say anything that a brief comment on them. for commodity, one single sendspace link with all the tracks: http://www.sendspace.com/file/jjtorm and then a description of each of them with one note: the fact that i got the file in one particular year doesn't mean the track was produced in that year. 1 Nolax - Androids Do Dream 2 & 3 Trasnwave - Frontfire album samples http://www.zshare.net/audio/77726804c2dfecff/ http://www.zshare.net/audio/777268201238b6cb/ 4 elysium: this is modern trance, but is dreamy and melodic, this one maybe is released. hopefully someone knows what's this. it has nothing to do with the artist Elysium i think. http://www.zshare.net/audio/777268349086eb51/ 5 ethereal journey: very old trance, i suspect this one is from 95 and comes from a very bad dat recording.. not made by myself. no idea at all but early melodic goa. it has a distinctive sample, maybe can be easy if it was released. http://www.zshare.net/audio/7772684962f3556e/ 6 oldschool player: yet again another track i have no clue about. from the sound it seems to me to have been produced in the late 98-99 or maybe it's something made later attempting to sound older. http://www.zshare.net/audio/77726869e7234764/ 7 phi trance 2: this one is WICKED. i really like it. it's progressing from some kitchen sounds to a great track, no other clues. http://www.zshare.net/audio/77726885c7aaf982/ 8 Luminus - Galaxy To Galaxy http://www.zshare.net/audio/7772689656ee07a2/ 9 Mystica - African Horizon http://www.zshare.net/audio/77726911f659aa49/ 10 paramedroid - to another dancefloor (ID by myself) http://www.zshare.net/audio/77726921b6c70790/ 11 an unreleased by wizzy noise of the 90s, title not known but is super similar to others of that time like ocean traveling or space boy http://www.zshare.net/audio/77726936ab622120/ 12 GMS - Goa 13 Amani vs. Teapot - Are You A Dreamer? http://www.zshare.net/audio/777269609446983f/ 14 Gangnia - Human Evolution http://www.zshare.net/audio/7772696985f3058b/ OK, thanks all for listening

Crossing Mind - The Holographic Paradigm
draeke replied to draeke's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
It came to my attention that a LAME mp3 crew called mLp is spreading a promo of crossing mind. The material of course is the mp3 i spread myself from year 2000-01, and not remastered. They simply assembled the tracks together in the order I chose for the album and grabbed the cover that I posted in this and other 40 forums and VOILA.. what a nice and proper release.. LOL. Guys, get a life. The remastered music sounds much different of course. On other news I went through with many things with the release, shipped today the promos to Arabesque and pressing should start tomorrow so things are moving fast. I have no idea when Arabesque will give me a release date but I hope during July. Will let you know once I have more news . Regards! -
Crossing Mind - The Holographic Paradigm
draeke replied to draeke's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
Hi Veracohr, I heard the original un-mastered wave from the artist and I can tell you the distortion is part of the original music and intended to be that way. The point with the old un-mastered version is that the volume was low and all the synths were at the same level. With the remaster Tim brought out all the tiny details that were a bit un-hearable the way the track was before. And also there is a huge improvement in volume but i can tell you the track sounds good : ). No distortion was added or volume pumped too high. As always, I take a good listen with headphones before approving the mastering and I consult the artist himself too: so if we both agree tracks sounds OK we accept the mastering, otherwise I always ask Tim some small adjustments before finalizing the process. -

Mama to be honest I think she never had any psychedelics or ever listened to psytrance, as far as i know. She likes house music. But maybe she likes psychedelic art!

this is my favorite ever saddest tune: don't flame me but i really dig this stuff. quality of the audio in the video is not good but you get the idea.. hope is not off-topic. edit: i see many others mentioned them, cool! i didn't think there were others liking them here.

I have a t shirt from symbisis, pretty bad-ass, but god help me if i know where the symbol comes from. In my opinion Tony (manager of symbiosis back then) had it designed by someone and that's it. i have seen a LOT of Mayan and ethnic symbols in the past 20 years (always been fascinated even as a kid before knowing Goa music) and i had never seen it before. but of course i may be wrong and maybe someone knows it! edit: if anything i think it may come from the native American symbolism and not from any South or Central American tribe/population. see here the similarities: http://b4tea.com/entertainment/native-american-symbols-and-meanings http://www.kivatrading.com/symbol1.htm http://www.ancient-symbols.com/native_american_symbols.html and these: then look at an edit of the symbiosis logo in b&w (i made it quickly just to get the idea): i find some similarities.
