  1. I have to agree with NEMO on this one - the track "We Share the Same Dreams" is pretty damn cool (can't say its my fav on the album but I do really like it)- I love that 80's synth pop vibe actually, and the track in general is emotionally rich and nostalgic for me.. The album on the whole - too soon for me to make a verdict, but it's pleasant sounding music, with some very nice moments... The first couple casual listens haven't shown me much depth that might change..
  2. In the new album, the tempos are complete, and have also musical elements to go along with them! Amazing!!
  3. Wow, the chill disc is fucking amaaazzing!!! This is deep journey-ing type stuff - sonic paintings - very psychedelic and very pure - When I listen to this I am so impressed by the creativity and artistry involved here - one person's vision so beautifully expressed...
  4. I'm going to have to give this one more listens - I've heard it a couple times and am not all that impressed - sounds like the artist sort of doodling or some such, very little in the way of charisma or purpose to it... Nice sounds though, and some very nice moments... Complex mix of elements too, so this could easily be an album I "discover" at some later date/it may grow on me...
  5. This review is about exactly how I feel about this release - this is easily some of the most intelligent music I've ever heard - the way he builds the sounds in is incredibly hyponotizing and wonderful.. I just heard this album for the first time a month ago and am in love! There is a ton of style and pinache in this album too - so many recent progressive style releases use sound effects so poorly, like the artist is just adding random effects in the track - not so with Atmos - every sound he adds has a purpose, a reason to be there... This album has got to be the most trance-inducing album I have - puts me in a blissful parallel universe.. You have to really follow the tracks from the beginning though - listen to the way he builds in the hi-hats and effects and such - the sounds hook your brain, and just when you get into the groove of one sequence, in comes another one - the tracks progress toward this very restrained but energetic and complex maximalism in some cases - this is not minimalism all through - minimal becomes maximal, and then to minimal again - brilliant brilliant music!
  6. I'm gonna get this one! I got "2nd Brigade" a couple years back and I like that one quite a bit, but not remarkable aside from some spots for me.. BUT, I just heard "Headcleaner" for the first time about a month ago and I can't stop listening to it! "Headcleaner" is fucking fantastic, def in my top-10 albums ever - where has this album been my whole life?! Atmos is a master... So this new album, if it's like 2nd Brigade I will like it, and if it's more like "Headcleaner" that would be great - or maybe like GaySatanicHippie says it'l be the best of both and better even!
  7. GreatThinker - if you want to avoid the "troll" designation, you should write something more specific and intelligent about the releases you don't like..
  8. I can confirm that he is definitely gay, definitely satanic, and most surely a hippy.. Why would you doubt that?

    Yahel - Xport

The main melody on the last track of "Last Days of Gravity" by Younger Brother is totally ripped from a melody at the beginning of a track by The Cure on the album "Disintegration"...
  10. Yah it was a serious question.. Not sure I quite understand - baseline having key changes? How about melodies? Can a single melody have a key change in it?
  11. What is a "key change"? Can you give me an example of one in a well know track or two?
  12. Yah I love these 4 tracks - each are fantastic in their own way - great style - brooding, meditative, deeply trancey - and the melodies are a great mix to the minimalistic atmospheres...
  13. Yah my only problem with this album is it is quite short - 59 minutes or so... Sublime music though, super tasty...
  14. I dunno, "Radio" is one of my favorite albums ever... "Irritant" though I have never been able to aquire a taste for - "Radio" has all sorts of great sound effects and melody - "Irritant" is just repetitive and grinding as I hear it... If in making "Radio" they used 200 different sound effects, "Irritant" was made with 20, or so it seems... I'll have to try again at some point to see what all the fuss is about though..
  15. X-Dream "Irritant" - terrible and unpleasant album I'm sorry...
  16. Perhaps my favorite track ever - Hux Flux - "Degauss" from the Electric Kool-Aid comp by Kavator records seems like maybe half the volume of the other tracks on that comp.. I have to turn the volume all the way up in the car or on home stereo when I listen, and not even worth listening to on my i-Pod w/headphones.. I'm not sure if it was just my copy or if the others are like that too... A shame as this is maybe the most wicked psytrance track I've ever heard - it blows me away every time I listen to it - epic, melodic, super-psychedelic, out of this world track - everyone should hear this track...
  17. This is a killer downtempo release! Very colorful and creative music - the sounds all seem so well chosen and distinct from each other - very fresh and interesting ideas here... Beautiful melody work as well...
  18. I try today to download but could not do I may order the CD then...
  19. Hey all - has anyone heard this album? I didn't know it had been released - this is the music by Matte Gillard/Nystagmus - the first side is trance I think and the second side is a re-release of his chill project...
  20. Wow, thank you for all that info!
  21. Help me out - what is the difference between the mastering and the production? What would tell me that the sound is poorly mastered or produced? What is a "compressed" sound? How do you know if it compressed? Why would pop music be better mastered? Is it hard to master something well - do psy producers lack the technology or skill to master their music at the level of pop music? Is pop music considered better "produced" than psy music? I always thought that psytrance was way ahead of pop trance or pop music because of all the sound panning and other tricks that are lacking in pop music... BTW - I don't understand the comment about Ott lacking musical ability and instead only "knowing his stuff"? Hallucinogen in Dub sounds to me like 80% Ott and 20% Posford anyway, and Blumenkraft and Skylon are exceptional musically..
  22. Bahhh, why do artists even bother with the un-innovative full-on?
