This album should be getting A LOT more attention - it's so much better than the Abakus album or boring "yawnbient" like HUVA "Distances".. I can't believe a simple, shallow album like Abakus has gotten heaps of reviews and this one has barely been noticed! Like others have said in their reviews this album is *really* hard to describe - it's like classical-jazzy-lounge-mushroom voyage music or something... This has got to be fantastic tripping music... This album sounds so totally inspired, like Traveller said, it's as if this guy had never heard our type of music before. It's like he was just hanging out by himself taking mushrooms in the woods or something... In any case this is very busy and engaging music, full of beautiful synthesizer sounds and enchanting melodies - the sounds are so clear and beautiful, they go right to the center of your brain, unbelievable production... This reminds me a bit of Autechre "Incunabula" or some of Orbital's music, but it's much more psychedelic... It has this ultra-classy, ethereal quality, pristine chords of cosmic harmony... Nectar to the mind and soul... Anyhow I'm glad to actually be writing a review that isn't complaining about an album for once, and I'm glad to have an album that I could call a favorite in this year - this one will be a classic in the chill-out genre, right up there with Ott, Shpongle, and Shulman....

I'm the same way, I love goa when driving... Early mornings though I like only ambient or no music at all... Overall I listen to maybe 30 minutes a day... A couple notes: - I like silence a lot, the peace of my mind and such... - When I'm depressed I don't care for music at all.. - I just made myself not listen to any electronica for 2 weeks for an experience of relativity.. Renewed my appreciation a bit.. - The less I listen to goa in general the more I'm excited about it (but I like to listen a lot too - it's a balancing act) - After a good time with relatives or friends I love listening to goa driving home... Really euphoric then... - I keep trying to make myself listen to 1 track an evening on headphones before bed, but often I just want to go to sleep..

Has anyone heard this compil? Psyreviews is ranting about it but they rant about a lot of stuff that I didn't like.. Could use a good progressive album these days though...

Just a fun opinion poll... My list: 1.Classical Mushroom 2. Converting Vegetarians 3. The Gathering 4. BP Empire 5. IM the Supervisor The Gathering moved up on the list, replacing BP Empire - it's taken a loooong time to grow on me but damn, what an album!!!

Just got my saikosounds order and there's a thing about this album by Joti Sidhu called "Punktuator" which says it's collaborated upon with Simon Posford, Dino Psaurus, and Junya Eskimo.. Anyone know about this? Is it released?

You're right some of the Reefer Decree baselines are similar.. Reffer Decree though has some much more "groove" than most other psytrance, it just sounds so phat, makes me want to dance... Most psytrance baselines I hear are really uptight and stiff sounding, too serious or something... Some of the most fantastic baselines I've heard are Logic Bomb "Headware" - that sh!t is badass!

I could barely get through listening to this album I thought it was so bad! It's all just so generic and formulaic - in every track there's that "space-craft-zooming-by" sound, it's so freakin predictable.. Right as a break ends and the beat comes back "vvwwooosh!" the space shuttle noise - like every single time.. This album goes in no new or interesting directions, and takes no chances at all, like it was made to be appealing/non-threatening to the masses or something... Tracks sound like remixes of the other tracks... I'm sorry, I love Psycraft's first album "Gravitech", but "New Moves" is souless, uninspired, boring, cookie-cutter trance music...

Anything by Reefer Decree = mad phat!

I will say that this album makes excellent use of vocals - some of the melodies are constructed with vocals in a superb way - I love that part at about 4:00 in the 9th track - that is so wicked!

Ahhh you're nut's man! "Blumenkraft" is incredible!! Abakus though, gentle friendly music, nothing really more... Pedro - my sentiments exactly about Misted Muppet.. Wasn't it great on the first couple listens though?

I guess I'm with the others here. Some of the tracks are very nice, Horus the Chorus, Bombat, Stretched. Some of this though is really bad, Cities of the Future is awful. I don't see how this can be called "mainstream: or"pop" music at all because it's so NOT catchy! I mean, Classical Mushroom and Converting Vegetarians are very catchy and accesible music but this album is just bad on the ears most the time. I think both sides of Converting Vegetarians are vastly superior to this album. CV is a masterpiece IMO, beatuiful emotional music.

Hhhmm I think I've set a personal record for number of unpopular comments in one thread... You are right however that this album has it's moments - I really like the the last few minutes of the 1st track and that melody at about 5:30 on track 6 is insane too, not the keyboard one after it, the first one.... All in all though I find the music grating, crowded, and just plain unpleasant, doesn't have "it".... Lepton - I liked the Talpania and Kalashari tracks much better as well... Anyway, I do commend the artist on a fine and elaborate composition - he's obviously very talented and I look forward to the next installment... Terse and choppy is the prose, tis then time for bed

Don’t get me wrong, I love dark psytrance – X-Dream, Hux Flux etc etc – there’s different types of “dark” though… X-Dream could be called “mechanical-dark”, Hux-Flux “funny-dark”, Infected Mushroom “cartoon dark”, Halluciongen “twisted dark” etc etc… The Talpa album and the Misted Muppet album though are more of a “violent dark” This Talpa album though has a distinctly hostile or “mean” type sound to it, and specifically there are violent overtones – and violence always = men… I don’t like the way it sounds… I can’t see the comparison toe IFO either – the vibe is totally different… The sound production is very neat and trippy except for the bass – is it me or is the bass WAY underproduced in this album? Honestly I can’t tell if the basslines are any good because it just putters along behind the wall of other noise… I dunno I think I should listen to some other types of music for awhile, or just listen to the classic albums and not be too hopeful about new releases these days, I’m just setting myself up for disappointment… I listened to Alpha Centauri, LSD, and Solstice last night in the car driving home and was just totally transported with trance-bliss – fuckin amazing music, really puts some of the stuff nowadays in perspective… Felt the same way listening to Classical Mushroom the other day – that album is just SO much better than any of this Misted Muppet type stuff, I hadn’t listened to Classical Mushroom in like 6 months and I’d forgotten how awesome it was… Is there enough acid going around in Europe these days? There’s been a HUGE acid shortage in the USA after that Missle Silo bust in 2000, and I’ve heard Europe is having trouble too… The music these days sounds so un-inspired compared to some of the older albums – I think maybe the artists are deficient in acid molecules in the brain – with no acid they just have pot to smoke… People can say what they want but as the greatest psychedelic composers of our time – Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Simon Posford, Hux Flux, Infected Mushroom, etc etc have shown, where you have acid you have the generation of new idea’s… Novel Music, stuff that’s cooked up right outta hyperspace…. Alright then, end of rant, sorry to sound like a grumpy old-timer because I’m really not a lot of the time…

Well let me weigh in here with a dissenting opinion – I very much DISLIKE this album! It has great production in terms of all sorts of sound effects and layers and that sort of thing (track 3 is genius!), but the sum of it all just turns me off.. What is the deal with all this machismo sounding “scary” psytrance”? This is like Bad Trip music or something – seriously, I don’t understand what the appeal is with this type of trance… I mean, WTF is going on here?! I’m going to go out on a limb here and wager that this artist is no more than 22-23yrs old, definitely no more than 25… This album, like the Misted Muppet album, has this overly hard, sharp, harsh, grating, and driving sound. The melodies have this frantic, jabbing-on-a-keyboard type feel to them – it’s all very compressed and claustrophobic sounding.. Track 2 is one of the most unpleasant pieces of music I’ve ever heard… It’s all so relentless and aggressive, this album is like drinking vinegar or something…. This is the “Testosterone Sound” in all it’s glory, and I’m so sick of it.. This is why women don’t like Psytrance music!!! – seriously, this album is so full of mean, nasty vibes, and Violent manly man ego-bullshit type stuff going on… Angry and tough sounding men, soulful and sweet sounding women – cliché’s of the Primitive Ages appearing yet once again –yuck… A Paternalistic, Male-Dominated society is fit to produce music like this… I want cheerful, beautiful, joyous, spacious psychedelic trance music.. This music doesn’t make me feel groovy, or want to dance, or smile and bob my head about, or laugh, or sing, or gobble some San Pedro and go swimming in the ocean, or anything like that, This music and it’s vibe is depressing and overdone – - I think this all started with the Lone Deranger album (which I like actually), and then came the Gathering, and then various Dark Soho/Xenomorph/Delta etc type offrings, and then Misted Muppet, and now The Art of Being Non.. I’m so over this type sound, and I have GOT to start listening to albums online BEFORE buying them from saikosounds..

I first discovered isratrance forum about 6 months ago and when I went there and read through the new reviews section I was like "fvck look at all these massive albums I've missed!" - so I went and bought like, 10 albums from saikosounds and was very dissapointed.. Heh, learned my lesson though, can't trust much I read there...

Jon Cocco - didn't you hear Irritant, the album they released after Radio? I loved Radio but Irritant is one of my least favorite albums ever, hope this one isn't in the same style...

Prometheus – “Robot-O-Chan” Well after much time with this one I’ve decided I like it, and rather quite a lot! I’ve gone from thinking this was a very poor and mediocre album to thinking it’s quite a piece of work. This change happened after numerous listening wherein it sounded the same every time. Then, just recently, for unknown reasons, healium “got” it and has been grooving along nicely every since. I hadn’t listened to it for a few weeks until yesterday and decided to give it another spin while driving – for whatever reason I was able to get down inside the music, which is when music can be experienced so much more deeply! This has led me to wonder, is healium an inferior listener because it took him so long to appreciate this album? Are the other peoples more advanced in their listening capabilities than healium that they get this one right away? It’s worth noting that healium never listened to this album high on Ganja or any other substance and this strikes me as an album that would be MUCH easier to like if one were stoned.. Given that it’s a pretty laid-back and subtle album containing a remarkable amount of detail and variance, the Ganja mind-space would allow one to appreciate these qualities much easier I would think… This album is a rich and intricate tapestry of music. The theme here is this sort of cheesy 1980’s robot-taking-over/2001 Space Odyssey thing. The artists does a very good job of creating emotional and engrossing soundscapes and atmospheres along this theme – each track is it’s own little adventure, it’s own little aural-sphere of existence into which one can become an inhabitant of… “Robot-O-Chan strikes me as largely progressive in the way the tracks are made up, but with far more melodic flare and sound fx than your typical progressive.. Surely isn’t full-on… The basslines are very very catchy and baroque, and they have lots of “womp”. Sound effects are very polished and slick and sound like the artist really knows how to work his gear… The melodies seem more like the wallpaper of the album, they’re just kinda in the background, adding ambience to it, none really stand out and roar for attention like Infected Mushroom melodies do… On the downside there’s very little that’s overtly exciting, euphoria producing, or charismatic about this album. This is very Politically Correct Psytrance (PCP), nothing chancy or risqué here, despite it being quite totally Psytrance in style and vibe and not at all commercial sounding.. Unlike the Rinkadink and Misted Muppet albums this one never really “soars” into mad climactic breakdowns of sound and melody. Instead it just jams along in a most pleasant and stylish fashion without ever really working up a sweat. This is the aspect of it that let me down initially I think – I like to me thrilled and awed by my trance music, and this album just doesn’t do that. It reminds me of Beat Bizarre’s most recent album in that sense, though this one isn’t nearly so boring.. I read a comment by someone I can’t remember who or where who said they thought this album would age better than most others from 2004 and I think I might agree, there’s a lot here, really solid piece of work.. 8.6/10
