hm, is it me, or are most prog/minimal releases by far the best productions there are? for example: Sensient , now THIS is CRYSTAL CLEAR production!

hm its kind of hard to explain really... the synths were some sort of 'distorted' , or hmmm 'typical' trance synth?, like the one's you hear at the start of the song 'magnetic air' but just a little bit more distorted... but it was in the same sort of vein and mood... Okay, if anyone was at the Solar Fields gig in the Rarenheit chillville @ the Rhakti Deï festival this year (2005) , i was there right from the start and he started (or perhaps it was the 2nd song, i can't remember) his set with an amazing song, it started with some soft synths but those got more and more uplifting, and the volume by then reached very high levels! some beats afterwards making me shine and SMILE! But now, ive bought a solar fields album and the song isn't on that one, also ive listened through almost ALL samples on the ultimae website and it isn't in there as well (i think), this might have been live improvisation or some unreleased song, does anyone know if this set ever was recorded or what song it was? thanks in advance! (not that i have any hopes..)

yeah, the new band "Vreid" from the left over members isn't really amazing though, Arntor rules... but i prefer the later albums... np: The Dillinger Escape Plan Metal still beats psy/goa for me

ah well, to me it is fresh new school, unlike the 're-creators' of goa-trance you listed then i'd rather listen to my old goa cd's/compilations instead of new artists doing the 'same trick', but enough of this.. taste differs maybe it's the bassdrum and bassline you are hunting down, the angry dwarf tune lacks this..

minimal? hahahahaha! sure noticed the "oldschool" melodies in the later part of the song? man, at least its fresh stuff and it really reminds me of oldschool goa stuff... melodies, multi layered, a break that keeps on building to the max etc.. @ 2min (in the sample) , it blows your brain... just like oldschool goatrance used to do... to the MAX! most of the artists you noticed just 're-created' old stuff, nothing special or nothing new... just the good old goa-trance sound again, if i want that i'd rather listen to old goa cd's compilations!

Windir - Martyrium sad song, this was one of the best viking/black metal bands ever! too bad the singer died (froze to death in norway, sad story....) sad depressive, but oh so beautiful music! check out the cover art for this album, it will set the 'right' mood: edit: they used some 303 and other psychedelic synths on their last 2 albums as well!
