PM me for the list!) Wantlist disclaimer: Please bear in mind that I do not want everything on my wantlist desperately... Loads of these titles can be found through some solid internet-digging... Some stuff I want for completist reasons, and other stuff I'm only interested in if it's very cheap... Most of the stuff is only there to remind me to buy it at a certain point of time - and just because something is not on my wantlist, does not mean I don't want it… ;o) If you don't have anything off my wantlist - or if the stuff you have doens't interest me, I could also use some new stuff from your fav'e online shop (Psyshop, Saiko Sounds, etc...)... Or if you want to offer me vast amounts of cash for these, you might be able to persuade me... But trading is my preferred business! Also bear in mind, that some of these items are RARE, timeless classics, so if you're buying me new CDs from psyshop, I might want more than one ... But let's talk about that if you e-mail me! Also, if you have dupes in your collection - rare or not, I might be interested in some kind of trade! ;o) If you are interested, please do not hesitate to get in touch and we can talk about what stuff you want, and what you can offer in return... Send me a list of what stuff you'd like to exchange - or give me an estimate on how many new CDz you can buy me @ psyshop, saikosounds, etc in exchange for these CDz... I prefer to trade within Europe as my shipping costs would be low (I'm in Denmark), but for the right offer I'll ship anywhere in the world... Alright, that's it I guess... Please get in touch if you are interested: deathposture [at] hotmail.com or psynews PM... Happy trading! DeathPosture

V/A - Wireless Artist: Various Title: Wireless Format: CD (digipack) Label: Plusquam Records (Germany) Cat. #: PQR 108 CD Distribution: Cosmophilia/Wakyo Date: March 2005 Track listing: 01. 08’24” V-Tunes – G-Con 02. 08’47” Buzzmonx – All You Can Eat 03. 08’20” Fusi & Johnson – Trouble Galaxy 04. 07’47” Liquid Soul – Open Mind 05. 07’10” Paste – Down On The Street 06. 06’12” Nyquist - Flatline 07. 09’27” Ryan Halifax – The Beauty And The Beat 08. 08’36” Varoman – Kickin’ & Drummin’ Review: Reeeeeeeeeverb! Plusquam Records from Germany have released loads and loads of progressive gems and especially since DJ Laureth took control they’ve spit out high-quality progressive releases in a steady stream… I like their narrow spectre – focussing at what they do best. I still enjoy the Buzzmonx album Toms'n Jerry released last summer – and I’m hoping Laureth have compiled some groovy stuff here… Let’s find out… Let me take you thru the tracks… #01: V-Tunes – G-Con V-Tunes are Sandro Kulka & Hans Muster from Switzerland and so far everything I’ve heard from these guys was above average standard… I particularly enjoyed their track on the Inspirazzia compilation released by VP Records earlier this year… That track was on the trancier side of progressive trance… So it this, though to a lesser extent… This is über-cool, smooth progressive summer-trance – with big phat FREqqy reverbs… Works great both at home and on the dancefloor… Would blend in perfectly with most FREq or Kooler… Sweet track! #02: Buzzmonx – All You Can Eat As mentioned above, I thoroughly enjoyed the debut album Toms’n Jerry released by Buzzmonx last summer… Sascha Haske & Sebastian Plehn from Germany hasn’t lost their touch and still creates magic once they combine forces… I mean – just check the fucking intro… Not since Krüger & Coyle’s 'Love Juice' have I heard such a horny chick in a tune… Musically this track is also drenched in massive reverb-bass mayhem… I’m a reverb-sucker, so this is sweet nectar to my ears… Very housey – very smooth – very progressive – and deeply infectious! The explosion @ 5’44 sends shivers down my spine every time I hear it… A perfect track! #03: Fusi & Johnson – Trouble Galaxy Fusi & Johnson are Thomas Johanshon and Fabio Fusco from Hamburg – also know as Mapusa Mapusa and the track ‘Beachball’ on Irresistible Meltdown Vol. 3 … Anyway, this is much deeper progressive trance now – we’re diving deeper into the darker realms of progressive night-trance now… The bassline is blunt and repetitive – and again soaked in reverb… The entire rhythm section with tribal percussion is also very nice… This track will work wonders on the trancefloor… Very nice! #04: Liquid Soul – Open Mind Liquid Soul is the creative outlet of one Nicola Capoblanco – and I have absolutely no idea whatsoever who he/she is… But I’m gonna keep and eye out as this is really nice… We stay in the deeper realms of progressive trance here and there is a distinct metallic quality to this track… The tribal percussion goes hand in hand with the pounding, hard-hitting bassline creating a very danceable track… Sprinkled around are a handful of psychedelic twists and voice samples, but they seem oddly out of place… They do not ruin an otherwise great, driving track though… Trancefloor fodder! #05: Paste – Down On The Street Patrick Sonderegger & Stefan Keller have been progressive players for years and their experience really shines through on this jewel… Super-cool surprise intro - reminiscent of some of their older, more minimal stuff… The bassline is ultra-deep, monotonous and downright mean – crude Boshke fodder! The pads are huuuge – orchestral – majestic even… Impressive! Great if you’re dancing on chemicals, but for home listening this is a little too rough for my tastes… However – this is pure napalm for any dancefloor! #06: Nyquist – Flatline Nyquist is an Aran “FREq” Gallagher moniker…It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of the FREq-sound – but I’m glad he didn’t release this a FREq-track as it is notably different… This is a much darker, more introvert track… It’s still progressive trance, but we’re still rummaging around in the darker realms of prog… Gone are the most obvious house-elements, and we’re left with a stripped-down, subtle night-track… It’s kinda minimal, though there are uplifting elements such as melodic background pads to balance things out a little… But – in all honesty I like Aran as FREq much better than this track… #07: Ryan Halifax – The Beauty And The Beat Ryan Halifax should need no further introduction… I was really impressed with the track he did with Marc Vision on the Back To The Future compilation released on Groove Zone earlier this year… This is less funky though – in fact its one tribal, bass-blasting motherfucker! Very driving and at the same time very monotonous... It’s very hard to describe – but there is something hypnotizing about this… Thick housey elements and a bassline from the planet Bounce… I can’t decide whether I like this track or not… Weird! #08: Varoman – Kickin’ & Drummin’ This track by Björn Mandry & Frank Savaro was released on a 2004 Plusquam 12”… As the title suggests this is a very percussion-driven track – with emphasis on kicks and drum-programming… It starts out kinda weak – but as soon as the bassline is introduced things starts to shape up… But it’s still a pretty simple, light track – would work best in the beginning of a proggy set… Not bad, but not great either… But the competition is fierce on this compilation! ;o) As you can tell I really, really, REALLY like the first five tracks on this compilation… And especially the first three are among the best progressive stuff I’ve heard this year – if not the best… They are hands down awesome! The last three tracks are not bad at all – they score high on the experimental scale - they just pale in comparison with the first five… But generally speaking this compilation is phat! The quality level is very high and most of these tracks deserve to be blockbusting summer-anthems… Very well done Laureth – you rock! Nuff said! Fans of rich, funky progressive trance needs this compilation! Go get it! Enjoy! Here's a copy/paste thing of my old review: Genre-bender on the loose! Jiga & Jinno are back with their fourth album… They’ve shifted from old school full on goa trance, to progressive psy, and back again… But this time, they combine the two + takes the music in all kinds of other directions… We really get all sorts here… Let me take you thru the tracks… #01: “Cheddar” instantly springs to mind when a psy-track kicks off with a tranced-up Deep Purple “Smoke on the Water” guitar riff… And yes, this title track surely is on the lighter side of the trance-spectrum… This is as buttrock goa as it gets! I really don’t like the guy shouting “roooock” and I could’ve been without the Deep Purple impressions – but besides from that this isn’t bad… Decent track! #02: This is the track that AP put up on their website for free, legal download… So I’m guessing most of you already know it… Grunge guitar intro… And then some really delicious bongos or congas… In fact the percussion work in this is very tasty… And then, bam Jiga sings “We are the world, we are the future…” and so on… Her voice is deep and husky the first time around, but soon she showcases the more feminine sides of it – which are much nicer, I might add… ;o) In between the vocals we get all kinds of acoustic and electric guitars mixed alongside the cool percussion… Cool track! #03: “Una masturbación en el pensamiento mecánico” … Hmm… Well, I’m no cunning linguist – in fact my Spanish is a bit rusty, but I believe this translates into “masturbation in the mechanic thought” or at least something along those lines… First time I’ve heard lyrics about that in a trance track… ;o) Deeeep bass, clapping, weird vocoded Spanish voice samples – even a short build-up and a spacey take-off… I bet it’s a long time since you’ve heard something like this on a psy-trance records… Nice track! #04: Admit it – you’ve always secretly fancied Jiga! And when she suddenly sings “I’m a bad motherfucker… I’m the gun in your vein… If I had a million dollars… I would spend it all on my brain… So what you gonna do psycho? Come on and trip it away, yeah… All I want is to punk and get fucked with my friends…” – you want her even more! Now this is a seriously weird old tune, but strangely appealing… The BPM is close to 150, and we get all kinds of buttrock guitars and Jiga screaming like an 80s rock n roller… Very sarcastic and funny! Oh, and if you rip this track, please make some promotion for AP, ‘cause they don’t have any money! Check out the last minute or so – Some kind of sing-along choir thing… Ha ha, what the hell is going on? Interesting track! #05: Hmm, what is that intro? Whale-sounds? Cello? No idea, but it sounds cool… Very organic intro, soon to be brutally disrupted by deep bass and rolling melodies… Yummy! Actually, for a trance records the trance has been lacking until now, but “Angels” takes care of that… This is plain old, epic full on goa trance in its purest form. Great track! #06: So, when was the last time you heard Shakespeare recited in a trance track? Again, AP gives us something unusual with this trance bombshell… Sharp, mechanic synths, electric guitars and funky bass lines adds to the eerie, dark ambience here… I don’t know about you, but my toe is wiggling… Perhaps for the wrong reasons, but who cares!? Cool track! #07: I happen to know, that Oesterstrasse 3 is the address of AP Studios in Germany… And according to this track, it’s a funky old place! It’s a pretty minimal track with a subtle kick drum and a banging bass line… Added are all kinds of smooth percussion, subtle piano, acoustic guitar and twisted effects… Plus of course, sweet, sweet Jiga singing in German about the address in question… Sweet track! #08: More acoustic guitar here… Smooth, groovy rhythms mixed on top of ethnic chants alongside Jiga’s explicit vocals… “Big bad labels” are bashed here… “fuck me if my album ain’t selling”… And apparently that’s the sound of soul… Hehe… Decent track! #09: The pace is lowered just a little for this track… More ethno-ambiance from the start … And more Jiga-vocals… She has an interesting voice; it ranges from husky to feminine… Let’s face it though; she’s no Michele Adamson, but she definitely can sing… Nice track! #10: Last but not least is the Snail Song… Yes, a snail song, complete with nonsense snail lyrics and everything… BPM are 90, and the snail feel is present throughout the track… A nice little trippy downbeat track, to finish a truly unusual album… Nice track! Phew, this was definitely something different… And I always welcome new approaches to psychedelic trance… All kinds of genres are mixed in between each other… Loads of rock and acoustic guitars… And lyrics in most tracks... Well, it’s really hard to describe, you have to listen to get an idea of the diversity here… Personally, there are a couple of cool tracks that stand out for me…;o) Though generally speaking, I have a hard time taking some of the buttrock guitars serious and some of experimental stuff on here is not really to my liking… It’s not bad – not bad at all; it’s just not fantastic either… But I do however appreciate the diversity, and the “balls” to release an album that is so “risky” as this… Listen before you buy, but please don’t download it… There is a really nice “bonus” pic of Jiga in the booklet…;o) 7.5/10 Favourites: 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 (!) Beat Bizarre – Somersault Industries Artist: Beat Bizarre (Denmark) Title: Somersault Industries Format: CD (jewel case) Label: Iboga Records (Denmark) Cat. #: IBOGACD29 Date: 18 March 2005 Track listing: 01. 08’58” Milk Tooth 02. 09’21” Content May Differ 03. 08’59” Stereorganic 04. 08’59” A’quatet 05. 07’54” Ding Dong Dynamo 06. 09’12” Snowflake Shake 07. 09’02” Analogical 08. 08’58” 2 Lame 2 Blame Review: Flip Flop Incorporated... This is an impressive 29th CD-release by proggy Danish progressive front-runner label Iboga Records… Martin Spanner Zimmermann and René Gundel Nielsen from Copenhagen, Denmark are Iboga regulars and have been in the game for years. Their debut album Lewd was a progressive milestone, whilst their second album Pandoras Groove Box was more introvert and harder to get into... It was a really demanding album on the listener and personally it took me quite some time to fully appreciate… But both albums are great in their own way, so I’m really looking forward to dig deeper into this their third instalment… Let me take you thru the tracks… #01: Milk Tooth This album is special in the sense that the two members have made four tracks each – and this one is the first by René… After a subtle intro we’re soon launched into a steady progressive rhythm section… This track bears the proggy BB-trademark with its deep groovy nerve… It never goes 100% full-blown so it would work best in the opening stages of a progressive set… #02: Content May Differ This is a track done by Martin, and was already released on the 2004 Iboga compilation Playground… Ahh – this is everything I love about progressive trance… Ultra funky, rich progressive psy-trance with sharp, crisp percussion… The pointy hisses, the organic pads and the subtle melodies all help create a perfect groove… I really like the groovy break that almost reaches Aes Dana heights… Stellar track! #03: Stereorganic “You are a most unusual traveller my friend… Come!” Half a nano-second into this track we’re exposed to a raw, distorted, pounding bassline… Shortly after we’re in full effect and here Martin intelligently twirls cut-up voice samples into the basic track composition… Usually a cause for irritation, but it’s so nicely done here that I actually think it enhances the track… But I could’ve been without some of the static here – it kinda annoys me and dents the image of an otherwise perfect track… #04: A’quatet Second track by René… The sound is much cleaner now and the pace has quickened – yeah all the obvious signs of a morning tune are present… It’s a very joyous and I feel like a real winner whenever I hear the familiar power-up-bonus-video-game sample… Listen to this track and you’re self-esteem will skyrocket! ;o) The second half of the track is the best with its tribal stomping and sexy Asian women moaning…A stripped down version of a Saiko-Pod was my immediate association…The track in its entirety though, lacks some of the progressive depth that BB has taught us to expect… Not a bad track, but nothing special either… #05: Ding Dong Dynamo Ding dong dynamo light! There is a certain slow, held-back style to this track… Composed by René, it’s a charming little track… Great use of percussion and funny little stair-climbing synth FX… Again the break is very thrilling – and immediately rewarding… Despite the fact that the track never really goes anywhere monumental, this is still a nice, driving track – without being revolutionary! #06: Snowflake Shake This last track by René stars out much more stripped down – reminiscent of the old BB sound from the minimal Lewd-era… The beat is downright mean and repetitive – but slowly more FX are added bringing us up to speed – and ultimately the track morphs into a deep, tribal progressive fiesta… Nice track for sure! #07: Analogical Pump up the BPM Martin… Yesthankyouverymuch! …Now this is right up my alley! After a cold, wintery intro we’re getting a taste of what wonders BB can work on the trancefloor… Super-crisp, dancefloor friendly progressive – mixed with phat old-school synths… Analogue mind you – as the title suggests! Rich progressive beats meets old-school psychedelic twirls – fuck me, this is a brilliant track! Awesome! #08: 2 Lame 2 Blame LoL-0MfG-\/\/tF!? Lame name indeed here on Martin’s last track… Again this is a typical BB track with its held-back groove bubbling just under the surface… I dig the mix of metallic and acoustic percussion here… There are some really beautiful long pads here – that creates a stunning backdrop for the overall groovy, tribal atmosphere… What a nice way to finish this album… ;o) As have been pointed out by previous reviewers, this album is a somewhere between Lewd and Pandoras Groove Box – obviously leaning towards the latter with today’s modern production skills… Lewd is still my fav’e BB album, but this comes in as a close second now… The production is flawless and despite the distinct BB style, we still get quite a lot of variation within the progressive range… And that’s a good thing! I see this as a very mature album and as a positive indication of the very interesting path René & Martin have chosen to take… Their talent is indisputable and I really respect producers that are constantly evolving – and evolving in their own unique direction… Well done! Beat Bizarre fans will certainly enjoy this, as will fans of deep, groovy modern progressive trance… It works great at home, and DJs will find many useful choons here too… And I’m sure it will appeal to the most open-minded fans in crossover land too… Check it out – I’m digging it! Electro Sun – Pure Blue High-res: front + back Artist: Electro Sun (Israel) Title: Pure Blue Format: CD (jewel case) Label: Trancelucent Productions (Israel) Cat. #: TP-011 Distribution: Boa Distribution Date: January 2005 Track listing: 01. 07’11” Pure Blue 02. 07’28” Sundance 03. 06’54” I’ve Got The Power 04. 08’04” Fucking Music 05. 07’34” Stretch 06. 07’26” Vanilla 07. 06’44” In My Dream (Album Edit) 08. 06’48” Momento 09. 06’32” Supernova Review: Let the sun guide your path… Electro Sun is Nadav Elkayam from Israel. He’s pretty new to the scene but has had tracks released on Trancelucent, OOD, ZMA, Moonstone and Com.Pact… It’s no secret that I’m no neo full-on buff, but the stuff I’ve heard from Electro Sun hasn’t been all bad… This album is released on Trancelucent Productions and I still admire them greatly for the Misted Muppet and Etic albums… Let’s find out what’s under the Electro Sun… Let me take you thru the tracks… #01: Pure Blue [140 BPM] We launch straight into melodic mayhem… This is super uplifting, happy, bouncing morning trance with one epic melody weaved into the next… Commercial club-trance to some – pure bliss to others… I kinda like parts of it - despite its obvious cheddar appearance… #02: Sundance [140 BPM] We stay on the more cheesy side of things here… As the title suggest, this is more straight-forward morning trance – a hymn to the sun with voice samples talking about mind-altering drugs… Again we get a shitload of fluffy melodies though they are a little more subtle here… The voice samples are tacky and I’m starting to get a little fed up… #03: I’ve Got The Power [144 BPM] This track was written and produced with Bizzare Contact and has a little more edge than the two predecessors… Finally! Pretty cool and energetic bassline here – and the build-up is sweet though the climax could’ve been better… But for a neo full-on track, this isn’t bad at all… #04: Fucking Music [142 BPM] Another collaboration – this time with System Nipel… The direction shifts from edgy full-on back to highly melodic full-on… Despite a couple of attempt at raw sounds, this is still a very light, fluffy track with long epic pads… The sample “fucking music” seems oddly misplaced and generally this is too commercial for my tastes… #05: Stretch [145 BPM] This is an ultra-fast track… I usually like fast, but unfortunately this is drenched in a happy-hardcore kinda vibe that’s not very appealing… Again the “fuck” samples puzzle me!? I don’t really like this track – it’s like it’s trying too hard – and failing at it! #06: Vanilla [145 bpm] This track was already released on the Cyberdelica compilation released by Trancelucent in 2004 – so here’s a copy/paste solution from my previous review: “Everything you've ever said, done or thought about doin', is right there in that file cabinet” Nadav starts his track with a Morgan Freeman sample from the movie Bruce Almighty… The track itself is dancefloor friendly full-on with a slightly harder approach… Guitars go hand in hand with tight percussion work here – though we’re getting close to annoying Skazi-guitars! But it’s a nice little track regardless! #07: In My Dream (Album Edit) [145 BPM] Argh! This is similar to Stretch though even more joyous and happy-go-lucky in appearance… How many Happy Meals did Nadav eat before he sat down and composed this? Even Yahel couldn’t have made something as clubby! The “ahh yeah” samples are just plain awful and totally over the top… Argh make it stop! #08: Momento [145 BPM] The edge is harder now and luckily this is not as obviously commercial as some of the previous tracks were… Thank you Nadav! That being said, this is still pretty standard morning trance – not overly melodic, but pretty uplifting and very dancefloor friendly… #09: Supernova [145 BPM] The last track is a collaboration with Brain Damage… Starts out with a bunch of LOTR samples and then slowly adds melodies and bassline… The layer work is pretty good here, and for a clubby neo-full on track this isn’t bad… I could see myself dance to this in the wee hours of the morning when the last disco-burgers are gone… ;o) Right – let’s count our losses first… There are a handful of overly commercial, top-cheesy tracks on this album – stuff that I really have a hard time enjoying… But luckily this isn’t a total failure as there are three tracks that I seem to enjoy… Obviously that’s not enough for me to validate a purchase, but again it’s all about taste… The big fan-crowd of modern Israeli neo full-on will undoubtedly enjoy this to the fullest… I’m not attacking Trancelucent as I know they also release brilliant stuff – the Misted Muppet + Etic albums are the latest examples of that… But unless you’re a hardened neo full-on fan, I’d advise you to listen to this before purchase! Allow me to quote myself from this thread: Copy/paste: We all have a bunch of tracks that we love, but for some reason no-one else does... So do we have bad taste, or do everyone else? Here's a list of some of my fav'e tracks that no-one else seem to dig... * Holy Ghost - "Zombie Assassin" From the brilliant Baluns compilation 'Otherwise' released back in 2001 http://www.discogs.com/release/219726 This was pretty much the track that got me into progressive trance in the first place - The first three minutes are kinda lame, but then all hell brakes loose with the most twisted, shifting, floating progressive sounds... I will NEVER get tired of this track, and to this day it remains one of my all time fav'e proggy tunes... I really dig that stereo-effect this track has... If I become a DJ one day, THIS will be my signature-track! Chekkit! * Deflo - "Tio Mate" From the old-school Matsuri compilation 'Resonance Mood' from 1997 http://www.discogs.com/release/146499 Oh fuck, that acid-squelch-o-rama bit that starts @ 3'39 is just pure bliss... Sends shivers down my spine! * Electric Universe - "Spectral Blue" From the otherwise kinda crappy EU album 'Waves' from 1998 http://www.discogs.com/release/66790 This has nostalgic value to me... I was living in London in 1999 and had an amazing girlfriend, Sara, and she bought me this album just because of one little thing I really liked... The KICK-ASS break @ 4'27!... Funky! * Shiva Sidpao - "Shiva Devotional" From the lo-fi, pre-Infected album 'Shiva Sidpao - The Album' http://www.discogs.com/release/48858 I've heard it's all put together in Impulse Tracker - and admittedly, it's a pretty simple track, but DAMN there's just something too it... Those twisted build-up/breaks... Yummy! It's also my on/off goa-head friends fav'e track, so I must have listened to this well over a hundred times... * Tim Schuldt - "Orange Acid" From Tim's greatest hits compilation 'Singles Collection' released in 2000 http://www.discogs.com/release/66705 Highly melodic, this is pretty much a departure from Tim's usual, darker approach to psy-trance... But I really dig this - although it's so simple, it always leaves a big old smile on my face when I listen to it... * The Infinity Project - Hyperspaced From the EXCELLENT album 'Feeling Weird' from 1995 http://www.discogs.com/release/36142 Calling this over-looked is perhaps an overstatement, but my experience tells me, that when people have to mention best tracks by TIP, this is rarely mentioned... Well, it's my fav'e track - I luv the sample in the intro 'Yes, the world at large is fascinated with so called flying saucers. However, they do not fly, they oscilate in between dimensions.' - and then the flaring acid-riff... Sweet! * X-Dream - "Eleven" (Original mix mind you, not the 11 PM mix) From the album 'We Created Our Own Happiness' released in 1997 http://www.discogs.com/release/71702 The track itself is fairly boring 'cept from that smashing part @ 7'53 - when played at high volume, it'll knock you off your feet... * Zodiac Youth - "Cartographers Of The Universe" From the bashed Dragonfly compilation 'Order Odonata 5' from 2000 http://www.discogs.com/release/34821 Again, it's one little thing that makes me really like this track... And that's the voice-sample that is among the best I've ever heard in a psy-track: 'The cartographers of the universe. They're (...). They're star-charged. How far does it go? Does time have an end? My personal theory is that everything is happening all the time. We're just not smart enough to see it, that's all!' ... Very well-crafted sample and very well-fitting for the track! * Scatterbrain - "Mexican Jesus" From the brilliant 2003 album 'Infernal Angel' released by Digital Psionics http://www.discogs.com/release/215319 I cannot praise this track enough... Here's what I wrote earlier this year when I reviewed 'Infernal Angel': This was the first track I heard from the album in the autumn of 2003, and I was completely awestruck back then – and I still am… A psy track that focussed mainly on voice-samples. In fact, half of the track is a guy talking about drugs. Smells like cheddar? Well, you’re wrong. This track is amazing – the long bits of dialog carries the track to a higher level, and this baby will stay with you for a long time! This is a story track. About a guy blown away on ayahuasca who meets the Mexican Jesus, butt naked in the middle of the Yellowstone National Park. Here’s a transcript of some of the lyrics: ”Genetic material getting changed before your eyes. Man, people think they know about drugs, but... That ain't a drug, it's a sacrament. It's just a portal to another world. It's realities that are always there. A key to other dimensions […] That we live with them all the time. Thankfully our awareness never touches... […] How would I describe it? Terrifying. Enlightening. But utterly terrifying. You swear you'll never go back. Ever. And the next thing you know, you're taking it again. You're going down that tunnel.” Yes, I keep going down that tunnel again… I can’t stop listening to this track. It’s just so damn hypnotizing! I love it! [For a full transcript, check Psychedelic Mind Expander – I’ve submitted the full lyrics there!] That's it for now... I have more tracks, but frankly I can't be bothered writing any more... But comment on these tracks are more than welcome... Perhaps, I'm not the only one who likes them? DeathPosture

I refuse to vote only one... It's impossible... 2004 was an AMAZING year with a bunch of amazing album-releases... Highlights were Filteria - Sky Input (Suntrip Records) From my review: This album encapsulates the original essence of highly melodic, multilayered, climaxing, uplifting, epic, trance-inducing goa trance… Just like the pioneers did back in the nineties – though with modern production techniques… FREq - Strange Attractors (Iboga Records) My review... This was in many ways a ground-breaking album with soo many damn-good ultra-smooth progressive bombshells... I still get shivers down my spine whenever I play Nurbs, Dreambody or Strange Attractor... Awesome album! Juno Reactor - Labyrinth (Metropolis Records) From my review: Holy phuck – what a ride… My expectations for this album were sky high, and I’m glad to say that they were met – even excelled. This is a really, really good album – we’ve come to expect a masterpiece every time that Watkins & Co. grace us with a release, and thankfully they do not let us down here… This album can be characterized by its versatile and flawless production and sound – and by the constant evolution, experimentation and crossing of musical boundaries. It’s just damn good music. Period. Phi - Phinalizer (ELF Music) From my review: It’s full-power-no-questions-asked from the get-go, and then it just blast its way through your speakers… Full-on goa-trance with a deep, repetitive bassline… The super-fly, versatile, twirling acid-melodies will take you on a musical journey back to 1996 when the TR-303 ruled the scene… Check out the oscillating build-up and climax… Very trippy! Son Kite - Colours (Digital Structures) From my review: Woow, what a trip! This album is truly an experience… Epic trance at its best! A true journey showcasing the immense talent of the Son Kite guys…Style wise this album embrace several electronic genres… It ranges from old school techno and house to cutting edge modern electronica… I’d even go as far as calling this a milestone album – instant classic! Get this or be left out! The Misted Muppet - From The Legend (Trancelucent) From my review: Think medieval. Think eerie, spooky horror-flicks. Think big orchestral compositions. Think full-blown multilayered trance-inducing goa-trance… And you’re still nowhere near the sound of this truly outstanding album… Each track is a little masterpiece by itself…This album is near perfection…Nice long build-ups and breaks that are actually long enough to be trance-inducing… Extremely well-produced, with nice, clear and crispy sounds… Aes Dana - Memory Shell (Ultimae) From my review: With only a few minor glitches, this album is absolutely brilliant… This album was a year in the making – and it shows! Or sounds rather: Everything just oozes quality... If you’re looking for some of the finest, most well-produced and soothing ambient and subtle downbeat morning trance – look no further… This is an ambient/downbeat journey, that will stick with you for years to come… Honorable mention: Rinkadink - Rabbit From Darkside (Alchemy Records) My review! 12 Moons - Solid State (Candyflip) My review! Kooler - Open (Kamaflage) My review! Kaya Project - Walking Through (Interchill) My review! Krüger & Coyle - Randy Expander (ACDC) My review! Atmos - 2nd Brigade (Spiral Trax) My review! Kukan-dub-Lagan - Life is Nice (Candyflip)My review! Prometheus - Robot.O.Chan (Twisted) Shulman - In Search of a Meaningful Moment (Aleph Zero) Talpa - The Art of Being Non (Sun Dance) Yeah, 2004 was a great year indeed and picking just one album is impossible for me... Sorry! DeathPosture

It's all about perception dude... Perhaps you don't feel touched by the music, but rest assured there are others who do... And the first step is to recognize that other people might feel different than you! I respect your opinion, but I strongly dissagree... There are countless goa/psy/chill tracks that can stir emotions with me... Stuff that teleports me elsewhere - or stuff that insantly lifts my spirits if I've had a bad day... Especially older, melodic stuff have that effect on me... A good example is The Muses Rapt - Spiritual Healing ... Now there's an emotional track if there ever was one... But there are literally hundreds of other goa-tracks that stir emotions... Like there are thousands of tracks in other musical genres... It's all about perception! DP

V/A – Magnetic Storm High-res cover Artist: Various Title: Magnetic Storm Format: CD (jewel case) Label: Groove Zone (Japan) Cat. #: GZCD-003 Distribution: File Records Date: April 2005 Track listing: 01. 08’14” Moses – Mushrooms Approach 02. 08’40” Djruth – E-Motion Sickness 03. 07’16” Sensient - Optimize 04. 08’08” ItaiTaiko – How Low Sauruman 05. 06’39” Genetic Spin – Lord of the Strings (Cujorious One Rmx) 06. 07’21” Tetraktys – Burning Palace 07. 09’03” Setherian vs. Oxyd – No In Sense! 08. 07’42” Clutch – PH 09. 07’40” Fine Diner – Go Go Yubari 10. 08’24” FREq – SHM (Melodic Mix) Review: The darker side of prog... This is the third release by the Japanese label Groove Zone – run by Taku Yoshihaya who’s on a never-ending trance-mission to release smooth progressive morning trance… I thoroughly enjoyed the last release, the compilation Back To The Future released in January 2005 – and the tracklist here looks like another stroll down smooth proggy lane… Let’s find out! Let me take you thru the tracks… #01: Moses – Mushrooms Approach [136 BPM] “The wind whistled through the tops of the ancient trees. Suddenly, something enormous crashed and rumbled through the eerie woods.” Moses is Rasmus Moses Jørgensen from Denmark and so far he’s had a couple of tracks released on Zenon Records and on Crotus Records… This is very atmospheric progressive trance with thick psy-electro influences… Floating soundscapes and rich percussion… Nice! #02: Djruth – E-Motion Sickness [138 BPM] “Here, lemme buy you a drink […] This overpowering force! Instinct is inextricably bound to unreasoning impulses, and today we clearly see its true nature. Instinct has just become aware of its irrelevance, and like a cornered beast, it will not go down without a bloody fight.” Djruth is an alias of Per Skov from Denmark… Under his Meeloo alias he’s had a couple of tracks released on Crotus and Froggle Records… This is my first encounter with his stuff though! The bass starts out harder here – perfectly corresponding with the fat reverb sound that accompanies it… This is much more a party-track – for the late hours of the night during a proggy set… The break with the Half Life 2 quote is really cool and the track goes full-blown after that… Sweet! #03: Sensient – Optimize [136 BPM] “I refer to myself as an intelligent life form because I am sentient and able to recognize my own existence…” Sensient is Tim Larner from Australia and besides his album on Tatsu he’s got tracks released on numerous compilations… I really enjoyed his track on B.T.T.F. – and this is pretty good too… The very distinct Sensient style in which he mixes the best of progressive trance with trippy, psychedelic FX… A hybrid track really! I’m not sure how well the first part of this track will work on the dancefloor, but for home listening it’s very refreshing…. And the second half will definitely tear up any proggy dancefloor… Sweet metallic Sensient madness! #04: ItaiTaiko – How Low Sauruman [135 BPM] ItaiTaiko is Itay Berger from Israel… Perhaps he’s better known under his Kukan Dub Lagan alias under which he released the brilliant debut album Life Is Nice on Candyflip in 2004… This is a very percussion-driven track – somewhere in between progressive and darker night-time psytrance… The atmosphere is gloomy and kinda spooky at times… The re-occurring horn is just plain evil and the overall sound is raw and gritty! What a surprise, I never knew Itay was capable of this style… Kick-ass! #05: Genetic Spin – Lord of the Strings (Cujorious One Rmx) [140 BPM] Danes remixing Danes…The original version of this track was on the album Backspin by Genetic Spin in 2004… And this is the remix done by Cujorious One (Cuja A. Hora & Barney Jacobs)… It’s been a while since I’ve heard anything from them, but they’ve still got it… This is another track spawned from the darker realms of progressive trance… Groove is replaced by repetitive drum-programming and an overall gloomy atmosphere – assisted by Gollum’s freaky voice… Not much evolution I’m afraid, and this is a little too repetitive for my taste… #06: Tetraktys – Burning Palace [140 BPM] Next up is Sub Machine regular Vincent Courcot from France… I’ve always liked his distinct dark style – and this is just as you’d expect… Darkish, yet groovy in a pounding kinda way… Metallic hisses, a rich percussion section and clever use of stereo FX…The track changes appearance halfway through increasing the funk-level and making it deeper… Again, I’m not sure how well this will do on the dancefloor, but for trancing at home it’s cool! Nice track! #07: Setherian vs. Oxyd – No In Sense! [138 BPM] No incense? A collaboration between Christian Zahn and Rodrigo Carreira – both from Brazil… I don’t know much about Onyx, but I remember Setherians’ debut album Multiverse well – as a very well-produced album somewhere in between progressive and morning… And that’s pretty much what this track is also – a hybrid! Though this time it’s a cross between prog and night… Progressive rhythm-section, but with distinct nightly sound… Kinda tribal at times – melodic at others… This would work best in the beginning of a proggy night-set… Ok track! #08: Clutch – PH [135 BPM] Next up is Clutch (Tonio Harada) from Japan… He’s released tracks on Sub Machine among others but I have not heard any of his stuff before… Anyway, this is pretty straight-forward proggy night-trance… A blunt, repetitive bassline and loads of percussion FX as added value… The first half is way too boring for my taste, but as it is often the case this track picks up for the second half… Despite being minimal, it has an almost hypnotizing quality to it… But still – not among the best tracks here… #09: Fine Diner – Go Go Yubari [138 BPM] “The young girl in the school uniform is O-ren's personal body guard, 17-year-old GoGo Yubari!” Matt Larner from Australia is Tim Larner/ Sensient’s brother…And this track proves that musical talent runs in the Larner family… This is very sweet proggy night-trance with bubbling playfulness… It’s very groovy and has enough variation to keep me interested… The Kill Bill samples are cool and so is this track! Nice indeed! #10: FREq – SHM (Melodic Mix) [135 BPM] And to finish things off: FREq! It’s no secret that I am utterly and truly in love with the FREq-style… Aran Gallagher from Australia has yet to let me down – and I absolutely love his debut album Strange Attractors released on Iboga in 2004… Anyway, this track is just as good as I’d expected… FREq has a very unique sound that totally fills the sound spectre with phat grooves – and that’s exactly what he does here too… This is very uplifting, yet deeply progressive trance… And as the title suggests – a fair share of melodies… A great combination that will work wonders on both the dancefloor and at home… Class track! This compilation is definitely not as silky-smooth as B.T.T.F. was – but diversity is a good thing. We’re still in progressive territory though, so Taku stays on his proggy path… This is just intended for the late hours on the progressive trancefloors, and as such it serves its purpose to the fullest… And also it’s a nice companion to B.T.T.F. in the sense that they both serve the same crowd – only at different times during the night… Nice! There are mediocre tracks here however – they are a little to minimal for my taste… But luckily it’s only a few tracks, and they are more than outweighed by the many good tracks featured here… Fans of progressive trance played late at night will most definitely enjoy this – as will fans of hybrid night-trance… If you belong in either category, I encourage you to check this out! Enjoy! Favourites: 2, 3(!), 4, 6, 9, 10(!) DeathPosture External links: Groove Zone: http://www.groove-zone.com Psyshop: http://tinyurl.com/3nrtd

Hydro Generator – Lucid Dream Artist: Hydro Generator (Japan) Title: Lucid Dream Format: CD (jewel case) Label: ELF Music (Japan) Cat. #: ELFCD 008 Distribution: QQS/Wirikuta Date: 20 April 2005 Track listing: 01. 05’54” Psychological Depiction 02. 08’00” Philosophy 03. 07’38” Evolution 04. 07’24” Future Scape 05. 08’34” Lucid Dream 06. 08’33” Dream Provider 07. 08’01” Karma (Circulation of the Orbit) 08. 08’11” Dawn 2005 09. 08’16” Cosmo (New Edit Rmx) Review: When a dreamer becomes aware, or wakes up inside a dream, they are said to be 'lucid dreaming'… Hydro Generator is DJ Toru (Toru Furuyama) from Nagoya, Japan… He’s been a DJ for seven years and has been a producer for three years and has gained quite a rep on the Japanese scene… He has released tracks on USTA, Alkaloid and had a track on the brilliant ELF Music compilation After Ten Years Of Japanese Trance released in 2004… I really liked that track and generally I’ve been impressed with what ELF has released – so my hopes for this, Toru’s debut album, are high… Let me take you thru the tracks… #01: Psychological Depiction [100-120 BPM] The intro-track is kinda weird… It starts out as shamanistic downbeat but soon evolves into more experimental, dubby territory... Later on it’s electro-chill, breakz and even some deranged noise-arrangement and shpongle beat-box… To be honest, I don’t really understand this track and tend to skip it… #02: Philosophy [142 BPM] “Then was it really worth it? Was what worth it? Was massacring all those people worth being separated from your love for the rest of your life? You mean, was an instant of purity worth a lifetime lie? Please explain to me, where's the "purity" that you couldn't live without in 52 people who are no longer on this planet because they met you and Mallory? What's so fucking pure about that? How do you do it?” First the intro will trick you, thinking it’s another weird experimental tune… But only after a couple of seconds, the much anticipated bassline is revealed… Toru then starts adding stuff into the psy-pot… First a subtle melody, then another one – and soon the track is in full effect… Flaring, catchy synth melodies and spacy FX… Dark pounding night-trance – with uplifting morning element too… The Natural Born Killers quote is well-fitting and the build-up/climax part is fucking awesome… Sweet track! #03: Evolution [145 BPM] “Evolution. It has enabled us to evolve from a single-celled organism into the dominant species on the planet. This process is slow…” Ultra-sharp R2D2esque robotic noises try to shred your ear-drums in the intro to this track… And if they don’t succeed the bassline that is introduced straight after takes a stab at it too… This is more fast-moving, deeply psychedelic, highly melodic psytrance… Again we’re treated to rapid changed in pace – constant evolution (ahem!)… The X-Men 2 sample is kinda overused, but besides from that this track is brilliant… #04: Future Scape [145 BPM] Future Scape – where melodies rule! Pounding bassline, percussion with breakz and synth galore… Again a sweet take-off, though it would have prolonged my pleasure if it was even longer… But screw it, there are so many of them here you’ll never run out… Sweet little twirling synth-lines jump around playfully whilst Toru keeps applying filters… Oh man, the last couple of minutes are pure old-school goa bliss… Genki-tastic! #05: Lucid Dream [147 BPM] The title track starts off brutally… A very noisy guitar and gritty industrial FX… Yikes! I’m not a lucid dreamer, but if it’s anything like this – I want in! This is hectic, multilayered, deeply psychedelic, darkish psy-trance… It reminds me a lot of the Rinkadink style – and I fucking love Rinkadink! This is nothing short of excellent! #06: Dream Provider [145 BPM] “Never again wake up!” More dreaming here… We’re still in the faster end of the BPM-scale and its still very much night… The bassline is harder than ever and Toru pulls out a bunch of J.M.Jarre-like melodies and chanting monks to kick the track in the right direction… I’m not sure it works completely for the first half of the track though… I like the three previous tracks better – this is still good, but it’s not until the last couple of minutes that all hell brakes loose and the melodies run free… When they do it sounds awesome, but it took too damn long to get there… Ok track! #07: Karma (Circulation of the Orbit) [147 BPM] Beautiful orchestral intro with something that sounds like pan-pipes – and before you know it the track is in full throttle full-on country… This is more on the morning side of things – very fast, and very melodic… For a while it’s a pretty generic track - and that’s a shame really… Well, it’s very uplifting and for what it’s worth it’s… Well, full-on! It’s good, but not wasabi-good… Ok track! #08: Dawn 2005 [143 BPM] And now it’s dawn time… Time to pay homage to the rising sun… And what better way to do that, than with a nice uplifting morning tune… The base of the track is made up by tribal percussion, floating melodic pads and a subtle bassline… The bass disappears for a while, but once it’s back it has regained strength and sounds pretty damn good blasting away alongside the tribal drums… This sounds like an old-school ethno-ambient track – only with bass and drums… And that’s pretty cool! Tasty! #09: Cosmo (New Edit Rmx) [145 BPM] And we remain in morning territory for the last track, though this has a more pounding nature… Long floating organic pads – with joyous melodies… Come to think of it, this is pretty cheesy – but it’s morning what can you do? As you can tell, I enjoyed the first part of this album the most… The rest isn’t bad; it’s just not as good as the first part – IMO… It’s all about taste, and I’m sure fans of melodic morning-trance will appreciate the second half of the album immensely… It’s a journey really – going from darker night-trance to lighter, more uplifting morning trance… In general this album is packed to the rim with build-ups/breaks and climaxes are everywhere… I’ve kinda missed that in modern psy-trance, and not since the Filteria album Sky Input have I enjoyed so many climaxes… So hats off to DJ Toru for bringing that back into the scene – great production indeed! This is my third ELF Music release and they’ve all been above average standard – pretty good statistics! To conclude, this album is good – and I especially like the first half which more than justifies a purchase… Fans of high-quality Japanese psytrance will definitely like this album… I did! Enjoy! Let me take you thru the tracks… #1-01: Human Blue – Street Pilot We start out with an unreleased tune by Dag Wallin… Despite his three released albums I’ve never really found his stuff essential… And this track here doesn’t do much for me either – it takes forever to progress and when it finally goes somewhere it’s kinda dull… It’s not bad at all… In fact the production sounds flawless – it’s just a little too boring… But that’s all looking from a dancefloor point of view – I’m sure this would work wonders in the chill-out… Decent track! #1-02: Vibrasphere – Cactus Point This was on the flipside of a 2000 EP + it’s been on a couple of German compilations… I really like Vibrasphere (Rickard Berglöf & Robert Elster) and consider them among the best Swedish producers of smooth progressive trance… But I gotta admit that this is not among their finest work – but the stuff they released on the album Lime Structure is among the best progressive ever, so it’s very hard to top… This track isn’t bad; in fact it’s pretty smooth and silky-soft and would fit in nicely in the beginning of a groovy proggy set… Ok track! #1-03: Chris Pointdexter – Darkness (Ticon Rmx) Chris Pointdexter is Christer Gunnarsson, and this remix by Ticon (Filip Mårberg & Fredrik Gilenholt) was released in the summer of 2004 and I remember it as a massive hit at the time… Gone are the grim shadows of the original version – they’ve been replaced by the sheer funky brilliance of the magic Ticon-touch… Oh fuck, this an awesome progressive monster that has; and will continue causing havoc on the trance-floors… Brilliant track! #1-04: Vibrasphere – Mental Bearing And here’s another Vibrasphere EP flipside track… This was on the Stereo Gun EP released in 2003 – and this is much better than their previous track on this compilation… Drenched in phat groovy progressive soundscapes, this track beautifully portrays what I love about Vibrasphere’s style… It’s funky, it’s sexy, it’s so fucking smooth and it’s temptingly hypnotizing… Awesome track! #1-05: Tranan – Preacher Boy Tranan is the solo-project of Jonas Pettersson from Logic Bomb and this was released on a 2002 EP + loads of compilations… So most people should know this track already… The style here is a hybrid between full-on and minimal progressive – creating a very unique, drifting sound… Progressive morning trance with hints of Logic Bomb… Pretty good! #1-06: S>Range – Out Of Range (Noma’s Morning Glory Rmx) Both the original Anthony Sillfors version and the remix by Noma (Magnus Andersson) were released on an EP in 2001 + the remix has been on loads of compilations also… This is a huuuuuuuge track… The first couple of minutes are pretty boring, but after the break and the voice-sample it goes full-blown… This is very tight, progressive minimal – with a very funky and tribal groove… I really like the slow evolution of this track – the long harmonic pads are awesome, and the percussion fits in perfectly… Very nice track! #1-07: Atmos – Catch From Scratch Although a couple of edited versions of this track have already been released on the Metro De Luxe maxi-CD, this is the first time the extended 12” version is available on CD… This is basically progressive house – touched by Atmos (Tomasz Balicki)… Like many of his tracks from the time this is soaked in tribal percussion and has a very house-club nature… Smooth, sexy beach-carnival trance… Very tasty! #1-08: Stress Assassin – Lextorp (Echölab Rmx) Stress Assassin is Henrik Jonsson, and together with Atmos he’s also in Echölab who released this remix in 2001… It’s a combination really - of the dubby downbeat influences from Stress Assassin and the more progressive up-tempo style of Atmos… It’s Echölab! Pretty distorted bass and percussion – kinda industrial at times, but still with a certain smooth charm to it… Can get dull at times – but suddenly it pops back into effect and puts your speakers to the test… Decent track! #1-09: The Source Experience – Roots FM (In The Box Mix) Robert Leiner has been in the game since the goa hey-days – and he’s still active, though he’s shifted into more technoish territory now… This was released as the flip of a 2003 EP and it’s a pretty experimental tune with hints of world music, electro, house and euphoric trance… Not really my cup of java to be honest… Phew! Let’s take a deep breath and put on CD2… #2-01: 12 Moons – Invisible Light Michael Andresen released the excellent album Solid State on Candyflip Records in 2004, but this track was released on an EP back in 2002… It’s very reminiscent of the first couple of tracks from Solid State in its very fluffy, uplifting nature… Definitely morning trance with progressive percussion – Very euphoric… Balearic even! It’s a little too well-polished for my taste I’m afraid… Decent track! #2-02: Antoine - Flashback Paul Lachenardière released this in 2002 amidst limited attention – at least from me… This is a hybrid really – between uplifting morning trance and sun-clad proggy grooves… The percussion work is cool, but besides from that it kinda lacks something to lift it from its average level… #2-03: Tranan – Morning Scoop Ahh – this is more like it… A bizarre raven-cry instantly sets the pace of this 2003 morning tune… Tranan is the solo-project of Jonas Pettersson from Logic Bomb… And the Logic-influence is definitely present in this track in all its goaish progginess… It’s kinda held back – never goes full-blown, but it’s a nice track to use in a set when slowly building towards a raging morning climax… The last couple of minutes are really intense and the sweet, tribal percussion is going to heighten the sweat-level on any dancefloor… Nice! #2-04: Hux Flux – Lex Rex Perplex “There is no question about that!” Dennis Tapper & Henrik Fietz released this little masterpiece on a 2000 EP… I’ve never owned actually owned it, but I’ve heard it at parties many times… This is full-blown goa-trance as it sounded in 2000 – with tons of trippy digital FX and twirling little melodies… The bassline doesn’t steal the picture, but rather lets the twisted percussion work carry the track… I’ve always been fond of the Hux Flux style, and this track is another good reason to be so… Extremely psychedelic – stellar track! #2-05: Logic Bomb – Innocent Until Caught “Then you have two universes running parallel to each other…” This track was released in 2001 by Jonas Bergvall from the highly acclaimed group Logic Bomb… Along with Hux Flux I consider them among the most important post-2000 Swedish psy-trance groups… This is very reminiscent of the style at the time – emphasis is not on the bassline, but on the many, many trippy digital FX the track is drenched in… I absolutely love digital-tribal acid-twirling tracks like that… And it sounds as fresh today as it did four years ago… Brilliant! #2-06: Hux Flux – Reflux Hux Flux again, but this time it’s Dennis Tapper on his own… This was on an EP released back in 1999 – but despite its age I don’t find it that dated… That’s really what I love about goa-trance – it has such a long life compared to more commercial types of electronic music… This is very reminiscent of the Hux Flux style from their debut album Cryptic Crunch – dark, deep pounding night-trance – with tons of bleeps, blobs and video-game FX… A very gloomy track, yet totally soaked in thick psychedelia… Oh, the memories! #2-07: S>Range – Serial Overtypes We’re shifting from goa-trance to progressive morning territory now… Anthony Sillfors released this track on a 2001 EP – and it still sounds awesome today… It’s kinda minimal, yet still very morning orientated… The break has already caused havoc on many trancefloors, and with CD-version I’m sure it will continue doing so for many years to come… Brilliance in simplicity! #2-08: Psychlopedia – The Gurningpoint (Miranda Rmx) The original version of The Gurningpoint was on the very first Spiral Trax EP released way back in 1997. Psychlopedia is a collaboration between DJ Anti himself and Miranda… This version – remixed by Miranda again, has never been released though… I haven’t heard the original so I can’t tell you what was changed, but what I can tell you is that this is a very dark, repetitive track with a phat bassline… And Miranda’s double-touch can be heard in the rounded melodies and the overall energy… I’m glad this oldie surfaced here… Nice little track! #2-09: S>Range – Test Tones (Chromosome Rmx) The original version of this track was released on Anthony Sillfors’ second album Space in 2003 – and this remix by Chromosome (Anders Nilsson & Serba Milojevic) was also featured on the 2004 Turbo Trance compilation Trance Scandinavian Express… This is a tasty track indeed – somewhere in between morning and progressive… Very uplifting and very floating – and especially the last part of the track after the break is nothing short of perfection! Brilliant! Phew, what a long review! To my understanding this CD is priced only a little more expensive than a single CD – so you really get your moneys worth here… There are at least 9 really awesome tracks here, and it’s always nice to own classic pieces of music not previously available on CD… Despite a couple of fillers, I like the majority of the tracks… I’m not sure the flow is perfect here, but then again it’s not really meant to be a journey – it’s just a collection of Spiral Trax goodies made available to own on CD… I like that concept, and I will not hesitate to recommend this compilation to fans of the Spiral Trax style as it sounded from 1997 to 2004… From old-school goa to rich, smooth progressive trance… Enjoy!
