That's def. a mistake! I've got the original which is indeed a proper pressed CD... I also have the promo which looks just like you described - Psyshop screwed up royal! /DP

Two/three years ago I saw at least 15 copies of the Hallucinogen - LSD CDM in a local record store... They were in the "mega-cheap bin" priced less than €1 a piece... Foolishly I bought only one copy... I still kick myself for that! /DP

S>Range – Another Theory (The Remixes) CD MAXI: Hi-res cover: front Artist: S>Range (Sweden) Title: Another Theory (The Remixes) Format: CD maxi (jewel case) Label: Liquid Records (UK) Cat. #: LRCDS001TN Distribution: Arabesque Date: 6 February 2006 CDM track listing: 01. 08’07” S>Range – Another Theory (Chromosome Remix) 02. 07’57” S>Range – Another Theory (Big Deal Remix) 03. 08’09” S>Range – Stand By (Ultra Violet Mix) 04. 07’24” S>Range – Spaced Out All Day (Forever Mix) 05. 07’26” S>Range – Technical Support (Back Up Mix) 06. 06’12” S>Range – Another Theory (Ambient Mix) Review: S>Range – wrestled, reconfigured and remixed! With his creative outlet S>Range, Anthony Sillfors was one of Sweden’s leading exports in the years following the millennium… His two albums 2001 and Space were both critically acclaimed and he sold out gigs all over the world… Furthermore he has released a bunch of 12-inches and loads of compilation tracks… It’s been a while since I’ve heard new stuff from the D.O.S. Mission Control Studios though – but that’s all about to change now… The Remixes are here! These mixes and remixes are based on the Another Theory album due for release on 20th February 2006 on Liquid Records… Let’s take a closer look at the tracks on the CD maxi… Let me take you thru the tracks… #01: S>Range – Another Theory (Chromosome Remix) [145 BPM] Chromosome is Swedish producer Anders Nilsson and this remix stays pretty true to the original with those floating, enchanting melodies + the fast-paced, twirling and eventually uplifting morning trance qualities… Yeah, this is both a hands-in-the-air type progressive morning belcher – and a well-crafted piece of music fitted for home-listening… Especially the last part of the track is pretty damn nice… Well, I’ve not quite come to terms with the cheesy singing yet, but it’s brief and I’m willing to let them slide… This one will impress the ladies! All in all, this is a solid tune! #02: S>Range – Another Theory (Big Deal Remix) [145 BPM] Big Deal is a new Swedish high-profile collaboration between Anthony Sillfors and Jonas Pettersson aka. Tranan (and one half of Logic Bomb!). And yeah, you’ve guessed it – with the help of Tranan this remix is by far the most psychedelic track featured here… The melodic lead + part of the rhythm section + the samples from the original are still here, but the acid-level has been raised dramatically… Just the way I like it! Obviously we’re still in morning trance territory, but we’re closer to psytrance than to progressive trance now… I like it for the most part – the guitars didn’t do much for me at first, but I got over it… This one will impress your hippie mates! Sweet track! #03: S>Range – Stand By (Ultra Violet Mix) [142 BPM] Here’s another re-make of a track from the Another Theory album to be released in a less than a month from now... This is pretty solid, groovy progressive trance – made for early mornings! Tight, rich percussion laid on top a trademark S>Range melodic lead + the obligatory sci-fi samples… Sure it’s nice, but I was kinda hoping for something fresher… Can’t put my finger on it, but there’s just something missing here… But hey – it’s nice and well-polished and will probably impress your neighbours even when played loud! Not bad, but not great either… #04: S>Range – Spaced Out All Day (Forever Mix) [142 BPM] This track was originally featured on the 2003 album Space released by Spiral Trax… I don’t remember the track that well, as I don’t own the album – so I can’t really tell you how much was changed for this 2006 mix… What I can tell you though, is that this is made by Anthony himself – and of course it’s riddled with sci-fi samples… This is retro progressive trance – with a big splash of morning glory thrown in to please the kids… Generally I like it – especially the melody line half-way through – but we’re not exactly re-inventing the wheel here… Large parts of this sound exactly as S>Range did five years ago… And that bores me! There are good parts yes, but not enough! This one will impress your trekkie-mates! #05: S>Range – Technical Support (Back Up Mix) [142 BPM] “I know you’re gonna dig this!” Another 2006 remake of a track from the forthcoming album – made by Anthony himself… And now we’re getting somewhere! Whilst kept within a framework of progressive and uplifting morning trance, this track draws on a number of musical influences… From dub & breakz to banging acid-ridden psytrance… A musical hybrid showcasing the diverse talent of Mr. Sillfors… Yes, we’re back on track, and this is just what the good doctor ordered… This one will impress everyone! Hands down the best track here! #06: S>Range – Another Theory (Ambient Mix) [100 BPM] “There is a theory, which states that if ever anyone discovers what the universe if for, and why it’s here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced with something even more bizarrely inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened!” Like a mini album, this CDM closes with a downbeat tune… Again made by Anthony himself, this uses smaller fragments from the original – most notable is the Douglas Adams quote… This is a nice mixture of floating ambient soundscapes and faster downbeat passages… It’s both dubby, melodic and dreamy… This one will impress your mom! Pretty nice, but nothing spectacular… Favourites: 1, 2, 5(!) VINYL: Hi-res cover: front Artist: S>Range Title: Another Theory (The Remixes) Format: 12” (white vinyl) Label: Liquid Records (UK) Cat. #: LR12001TN Distribution: Arabesque Date: 30 January 2006 12” track listing: 01. 08’07” S>Range – Another Theory (Chromosome Remix) 02. 07’57” S>Range – Another Theory (Big Deal Remix) 03. 08’09” S>Range – Stand By (Ultra Violet Mix) 04. 07’09” S>Range – Welcome To Paradise (HON Circle Mix) These mixes and remixes are based on the Another Theory album due for release on 20th February 2006 on Liquid Records… Let’s take a closer look at the vinyl tracks… Let me take you thru the tracks… #01: S>Range – Another Theory (Chromosome Remix) [145 BPM] #02: S>Range – Another Theory (Big Deal Remix) [145 BPM] #03: S>Range – Stand By (Ultra Violet Mix) [142 BPM] See review above… #04: S>Range – Welcome To Paradise (HON Circle Mix) [142 BPM] This track is exclusive to the vinyl release – and is a mix to the original which was released on the 2005 Liquid Records compilation Build Your Own Reactor… I wasn’t too impressed by that one, and sadly this remake still has the cheesy vocals from the original… But hey, just like the original, this is a pretty solid progressive/morning cross-over tune… The epic passages strike a notable contrast to the more aggressive, arpeggio synth-lines… Pretty nice, but doesn’t really add much to the original tune. Will most definitely impress your clubbing mates… Favourites: 1, 2 ---- Closing statement: With Another Theory (The Remixes) we get a mouth-watering taste of what to expect on the upcoming S>Range album. The best tracks of the album have been wrestled, configured and tweaked… That leaves us with a bunch of remixes and remakes ranging from deep, sweaty progressive trance to uplifting, joyous morning tunes + of course a downbeat track to dull the senses… A couple of Anthony’s own remakes don’t exactly rub me the right way, but I still think that both of these released deliver the ever sought-after value for money… Both the CDM and the vinyl have exclusive content and the CDM definitely wins that little internal battle - based purely on the ‘Back Up Mix’ which is a really winner! Recommended to S>Range fans and to fans of progressive/morning crossover trance… Enjoy! Krell - are you on Discogs? I'd luuuuuv to check out your collection - something tells me it's vast... If you're not on yet, well get busy!

Well, that seems to be the gist of it...

-
Haha... Yeah, I was thinking the same thing...
-
Figures... That's good news Colin! Infinity is indeed the most 'UK sounding' track off the album... I can't wait to hear that remix... /DP

Easy... Accidental Occidentalism!
-
It's not the most typical Danish name, but yeah - it could be Danish... Anyway, Scarlett sure appears to be... friendly! /DP
-
In short - no! All saw massive distribution from their labels... And €80 is outrageous... More like €5-10... Tops! /DP

I'm confused - why is this guy talking to himself?

How about a tracklist?

Tron - Existence Hi-res cover: front Artist: Tron (Mexico) Title: Existence Format: CD (jewel case) Label: Liquid Records (UK) Cat. #: LRCD003TN Distribution: Arabesque Date: 20 January 2006 Track listing: 01. 07’47” Existence 02. 07’18” This Is The Key Remix 03. 07’46” Listen 04. 07’30” Infinity 05. 07’23” Low Disk Space 06. 07’03” Shaman Pharmaceuticals 07. 07’31” Reverse Trip 08. 06’47” Slide Remix 09. 07’58” 8 Legged Taco Review: Tron: Trapped inside an electronic arena, where love, and escape, does not compute… Existence is the debut album from Mexican producer Patricio Tron… This guy impressed me with his uplifting track on the Build Your Own Reactor compilation released by Liquid Records in 2005 – and I’ve been looking forward to this album ever since… Musically Mexico is really interesting right now, and following the Ecliptic album, this album has already gotten rave reviews… Let’s dig deeper… Let me take you thru the tracks… #01: Existence “The quest is to be liberated from the negative, which is really our own will to nothingness. And once having said yes to the instant, the affirmation is contagious. It bursts into a chain of affirmations that knows no limit. To say yes to one instant is to say yes to all of existence!“ The opening track is also the title track… Build around samples from Waking Life this is a neo full-on feast for the ears… Constantly evolving, instantly uplifting and infinitely rewarding! Nothing short of amazing! #02: This Is The Key Remix After a brief intro that samples the Mission Impossible Theme we launch straight into another dancefloor bombshell… This is highly fragmented, melodic psytrance… It’s uplifting as hell and has more layers than I dare to count… It’s like an avalanche of different sounds morphing back and forth between styles… Countless samples are sprinkled all over this baby and there’s never a dull moment… Brilliant! #03: Listen “Ladies and gentlemen, can I please have your attention? I’ve just been handed an urgent and horrifying news story. I need all of you to stop what you’re doing and listen!” Fuck yes – listen to this steam engine of a track! This is the most energetic track thus far, with a rhythm section that goes straight into your legs… It’s simply impossible not to move to this one… Instantly funky and playful psytrance – spiked with a lethal dose of the finest Mexican mescaline… Twirling acid-lines, bubbling psychedelia and instant hands-in-the-air appeal… Kick-ass! #04: Infinity “We are multi-dimensional infinity. We’re not just a physical body. We’re everything that exists, but how much of everything that exists, the eternal consciousness […]” We continue the psychedelic rampage on this little beast of a track… Similar to old-school UK liquid psytrance really – though obviously with 2006 production techniques… I really dig the liquid hook-line and the bubbling, joyous synths which are all over the place… A very versatile and deeply trippy track! #05: Low Disk Space Half-way thru the album Tron ups the ante, looses the gloves and increases the pace… What we’re left with is a somewhat darker, grittier take on eclectic psytrance… It’s still full-on in structure, but not as easily accessible as some of the previous tracks… But hey, when it’s done this good, I don’t mind a radical change… A great track, but not as great as the previous four… But damn – the competition is fierce on this album… #06: Shaman Pharmaceuticals H O L Y P H U C K! This has got to be one of the coolest intros in a long time… If I hadn’t just heard it, I wouldn’t have believed it… All kinds of strange samples and FX are perfectly knitted together, creating a very original and highly unique sound… The psychedelic melting pot! Again we’re in darker realms and Tron is force-feeding us dodgy shaman pharmaceuticals… A lethal dose, mind you… It’s trip-tastic and I’m now officially hooked on these drukqs! Awesome track! #07: Reverse Trip “Thank God, I thought you were dead!” Get ready for another trip… And I mean trip - this is some seriously trippy stuff… Hard-hitting, relentless, multi-layered, danceable psytrance… Packed to the rim with digital drops, electronic farts, twirling acid-lines, heavily cut voice-samples and enough psychedelia to go around twice… I’m starting to sound like a broken record here, but really – this is another jaw-droppingly tune… Wikkid! #08: Slide Remix On this track Tron puts on his progressive-uplifting-morning trance boots… Well kinda! It’s not really progressive and it’s not really morning trance either… It’s something out of the Tron twilight zone: Filtered, funky psytrance with a big splash of tech-trance thrown in just to confuse you… Like an Etic tune spiked with peyote… Whatever it is, it’s very, very mouth-watering… It’s not as wow-what-the-hell-just-hit-me as some of the previous tracks, but it’s still pretty damn tasty! #09: 8 Legged Taco Taco for dessert! Things cool down a little for the final track which is another progressive-slash-morning trance hybrid… Cruising at a comfortable, laid-back speed this is another action-packed adventure into Tron land… Oddball twists and turns, psychedelic FX, cut beats, constant changes in pace and direction – without ever loosing the important flow… Oh yeah – this is versatile, eclectic, intelligent trance… Nicey nice! The first feel-good album of 2006! And the best full-on album since Voice Of Cod’s We Are Free… Seriously – this is tha shiznitz! An influx of really great, overwhelming tracks – and there’s nothing even remotely close to a bad track here… It’s near perfection! Really! Those are big words coming from me, but I mean it… This is so fucking sweet that words doesn’t do it justice! Really! Yeah, it’s been a while since I last heard such a versatile neo full-on album as the debut from Tron… Forget about boring, formulated full-on – this album has been spiked with a heavy dose of Mexican mescaline and it’s pouring out the speakers from start to finish… Versatility is the keyword – it’s a lot of fun, and we all know that fun rules! Enough blabber – just go get this album right now… It’s essential! Enjoy!
