Indeed, and that's why I want psytrance parties to be replaced by psychedelic parties. I want the focus to be on the experience rather than on the label. There's lots of fun and psychedelic music out there but it's not getting played at psytrance parties because it's not labelled as psytrance, and that's just stupid.

I'm waiting for remakes of that cover, where are they?
-
I've never understood what's so special about that album or other Asia 2001 releases.
-
...and Void is bad for you.

I recommend Adham Shaikh and Tim Floyd's Drift album. It's electric guitar, but not in a rock star wanker kind of way, more of an outer space sound, I'm positive you'll like it.

If this is your first Vibrasphere album you've probably fallen in love by now. If you on the other hand have followed their development from the first singles and through their previous two albums you probably will not discover any surprises in Archipelago. The sound quality has improved and the percussion is a little bit snappier. As far as the tunes are conserned, you get the great downtempo tunes and the solid uptempos. This is indeed an above average album, but as with most artists that focus on improving their sound while sticking to an obviously great and tried formula there's always the chance that the listener might feel satisfied with previous excursions, at least that's where I'm at. Looking beyond my own preferences I think this album might get some well deserved attention beyond the borders of progressive psytrance. Such an development might push the Vibrasphere sound towards new areas. They've undoubtly mastered their sound technique, and now it's about time new territories be explored.

I liked their previous two albums a lot, but their new album is lacking the playful vibe and madness of past efforts and that's why I liked EvsY. Yet another disappointment in 2006.

I see what you mean, thing is I don't find myself in a flood of continuous good releases I want to buy. I really want to like that album a lot, there's so much potential in it, but it just doesn't click so to speak. The previews I've heard of the upcoming album are a lot more exciting though.
-
What? I've bought several albums that I've had as mp3 for several months, even years.
-
My hope for this album is suddenly a bit higher. Btw, the second track could be translated to Koxbox vs Transwave, it's hard not to get excited about such a combo.

Yes?

Conclusion: Play pop full on and you'll get stomped by the lord of dance and destroyer of worlds, Aum Shiva!

I'm guessing you're new to the Internet, forums and irony, welcome abord!

I was at a small outdoor party last weekend and had a pretty good time. At around 4 in the morning some dj took over the decks (or in this case the laptop) and started to play all these crappy full on remixes such as Seek and Destroy by Metallica etc. I decided this was my cue to leave the party. As I was about to leave the police showed up and shut down the party. I couldn't help but feel that in away this was warrented because of the bad music selection. Was this pure coincidence or a divine intervention orchestrated by the lord of dance, Shiva almighty?

Yellow Magnetic Star's Mandala of Sound album was pure new age crap. The previous album was excellent, but this one, yikes. I had to return it.

Good point, the real world truely sucks! :-)
-
Psyshop, no complaints.
-
Well, what you're suggesting is, imho, impossible to implement. The only realistic solution is based on free will, that is you transfer the money to the artist in question if you feel that it's your moral duty to give them a slice of what you earned when you sold the album.

Criticism from drunk people is always derserved...

The price of sold objects should cover the expenses, if a company fails to break even their business modell needs to be adjusted. It should not be compensated by forcing the customer to pay for the product again. Sorry for being an ass about this, but it's not an ideal solution.

Low supply + high demand = high price It also implies that we want that new OOOD album ASAP!

Kecak at Youtube.
-
According to Wikipedia Kecak is: "Kecak (pronounced: "KEH-chahk", alternate spellings: Ketjak, Ketjack, and Ketiak), a form of Balinese music drama, originated in the 1930s and is performed primarily by men. Also known as the Ramayana Monkey Chant, the piece, performed by a circle of 100 or more performers wearing checked cloth around their waists, percussively chanting "cak", and throwing up their arms, depicts a battle from the Ramayana where monkeys help Prince Rama fight the evil King Ravana. However, Kecak has roots in sanghyang, a trance-inducing exorcism dance." Full article

Psychedelics and their influence on postmodernism
Trolsk replied to Trolsk's topic in General Psytrance
Crap? Postmodernism is one of the most influential and interesting theories of today in philosophy, litterature, art, political science, architecture etc. I'm not interested in what psychedelics and postmodernism are for me, I'm interested in how the rediscovery of psychedelics helped influence postmodern thought.
