Well, what you're suggesting is, imho, impossible to implement. The only realistic solution is based on free will, that is you transfer the money to the artist in question if you feel that it's your moral duty to give them a slice of what you earned when you sold the album.

The price of sold objects should cover the expenses, if a company fails to break even their business modell needs to be adjusted. It should not be compensated by forcing the customer to pay for the product again. Sorry for being an ass about this, but it's not an ideal solution.

Postmodernism is one of the most influential and interesting theories of today in philosophy, litterature, art, political science, architecture etc. I'm not interested in what psychedelics and postmodernism are for me, I'm interested in how the rediscovery of psychedelics helped influence postmodern thought.

Let me add some more key features of postmodernism (as I understand them): - The world can not be viewed objectively, it's socially constructed - There are no universal ethical or political truths/principals - New social movements (peace, women's rights, animal rights, etc) - Fragmentation of the self, there's not one identity, but many - Deconstruction of categories - History is not linear - Nihilism - Relativism We've all heard or read about people's experience with psychedelics, and several of the above key features are often part of their description of the experience. If you're not already aware of a book called The Tao of Physics you might find it interesting. If you want to read more about psychedelics and natural science, Kary Mullis (Nobel Prize Winner for Chemistry in 1993) wrote a bold a highly entertaining self-biography called Dancing Naked In The Mind Field. He claims LSD helped in his scientific work. You might also find it interesting that "the Nobel Prize-winning father of modern genetics, was under the influence of LSD when he first deduced thedouble-helix structure of DNA nearly 50 years ago." I'm currently reading a lot about postmodernism (as part of a course I'm taking at the uni) and I find it very likely that the (re)discovery of psychedelics in the 1950s has played an important role in the development of postmodernism. If you're unfamiliar with postmodernism some of its key features are (taken from Wikipedia): * A continual skepticism towards the ideas and ideals of the modern era, especially the ideas of progress, objectivity, reason, certainty & personal identity, and grand narrative in general (see Counter-Enlightenment) * The belief that all communication is shaped by cultural bias, myth, metaphor, and political content. * The assertion that meaning and experience can only be created by the individual, and cannot be made objective by an author or narrator. * Parody, satire, self-reference, and wit. * Acceptance of a mass media dominated society in which there is no originality, but only copies of what has been done before. * Globalization, a culturally pluralistic and profoundly interconnected global society lacking any single dominant center of political power, communication, or intellectual production. Instead, the world is moving towards decentralization in all types of global processes. I would be very happy if anyone could point me in the right direction, that is articles or books about psychedelics and their influence on postmodern thought. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Wow, excellent mix! Deep and psychedelic and lightyears from anything associating itself with psytrance. Why bother with non-psychedelic "progressive psytrance" when there's trance and house music that's actually deep and psychedelic on its own merits?

Since psytrance isn't very psychedelic these days I'm turning my interest towards other genres of psychedelic music. It's easy to get new music from the usual networks but it's a lot harder to buy it. I guess I'm looking for something like psyshop.com but idm, breakcore, house, lounge, electronic in general oriented, any suggestions? I am aware of juno.co.uk but they're too expensive.

It's exactly how I feel about Derango and why I miss the old school psychedelia, back then there was melodies and a story, now it's just too random and/or lacking evolution. One notable exception is of course Psykovsky's debut album, a modern masterpiece in my opinion.

Skazi is not psytrance. He might play at some psy related parties and have some tracks on psy compilations and labels but it's not psytrance, same goes for Dali and related pop trance. Agreed, there are a lot of great non-psytrance related releases out there that are psychedelic. Personally I don't find progressive psytrance all that exciting or psychedelic for that matter, I do however feel that deep house can fill that gap. Listen to James Holden's Balance mix and I'm sure you'll understand what I mean.

When ever there are discussions about old school psychedelic trance I get the feeling that we're nostalgic about different things so I thought this pool might give us an understanding about what it actually is that we are nostalgic about. Personally, I like both styles, but my preference is mainly towards the twisted properties of old school psytrance. Btw, I define old school as psytrance released until 1999.

His debut album caught my attention, but it took a while for me too give it the appreciation and attention it deserves. He has undoublty got talent and I'm looking forward to his new album. But then again I like "an overdose of the psychedelics, shit flying around all over the place".
