My opinion exactly. I have only found one interesting act so far: Xibalba. A handful of official releases and a promo album on the file sharing networks. I think you might find their progressive music interesting.

Both of course. There's a time for maximal and there's a time for minimal.

Hi, welcome aboard. Here are some recommendations: Bluetech - Elementary Particles / Prima Materia Telefon Tel Aviv - Fahrenheit Fair Enough Hallucinogen in Dub - Remixed by OTT Abakus - That Much Closer To The Sun If you want to go even deeper, try the Liquid Sound Design compilations, especially Mana Medicine, Elucidations and Butterfly Dawn (in that order). That should get you started.

I also expected, or rather hoped, that the new Shpongle album would be SACD or DVD-A. I suspect that Twisted might save SACD or DVD-A releases for the upcoming (?) Hallucinogen album. The expectations are, by now, very high so it really needs to be something special and a SACD/DVD-A release would really help. There are some interesting releases out there. Tipper released a DVD album called Surrounded, good idm/electronica. Then there's the Björk collected videos DVD (a must have!). The next Deedrah album is said to be a DVD release. I'm really looking forward to that one, because even though the last album wasn't amazing the sound quality was very impressive. I almost forgot the Syncrosect album. Then there's an upcoming Plaid DVD this autumn.

I just found something very interesting at Psyshop: V/A - Left Coast Liquid vol.1 - Native State Records 1. Shulman - NN3 2. Sympath - Pond life 3. Bluetech - Leaving winter behind 4. Rena - Autumn 5. Nalepa - Fresh 6. Bluetech - Oleander (Phutureprimitive symbiotic rmx) 7. Shakatura - Baldocious turp 8. Shen - Stonehouse 9. Desert Dwellers - Parabolic 10. Adham Shaikh - The garden Native State Records is an eclectic electronic label created by well known downtempo producer Evan Bluetech. Establishing a reputation internationally in the electronic scene for cutting edge soundscapes and dancefloor friendly electronic music, he created the label to identify and promote unique and vibrant sounds coming out of that region alongside work from producers in other countries. Left Coast Liquid Vol. 1 is a lush and dynamic compilation exploring the tranquil territorybetween established downtempo genres and IDM. Featuring 10 intricate, spacious and original tracks from a diverse and highly skilled line up of electronic musicians, this album is a quintessential release marking a new phase in the proliferation of global downbeat culture. I also found a website: http://www.nativestaterecords.com/ Release date in September according to the website.

Seriously, |o|o|p|i|u|m| has put you on the right path. At least 90% of the recommendations you will receieve will be the red highlights. Focus on the compilations and get the albums of the artists you like based on their tunes on compilations. You probably want to start with compilations from TIP, Flying Rhino and Dragonfly.

I'm glad we can agree on that. Internet and misunderstandings, *sigh*

My original reply was mainly about the Buckle Up cover, since that was the cover I nicked "stupid cover of the week", you however, seem to be talking about the Entheogenic cover... *LOL*

I really do not understand what your problem is Lawrance. You claimed we are not allowed to discuss design because we are not professionals (see the "stupid covers" thread). I've already explained why we are allowed, you never replied. You did however make a private reply to me where you confessed that you are "no artist in music or design". So judging by your own argument you are not allowed to comment these covers either. This kind of argument is really absurd. Most people on this forum are neither designers nor musicians still are view on music and design is valid. This is your second post to this forum and in both posts you tell as what we are allowed to write about, or in this case what we're not allowed to write about. I really do not think you're in a position where you can tell any of us what to do. Feel free to supply some arguments why we are not allowed to discuss design and we might listen to you, but until then you are just a Trancelucent troll as far as I'm conserned. Bye!

The fact that you ask me if I'm gay, catholic or "a fucking transvestite" because I find it pathetic to use naked women to advertise an album really says it all. The cover contains tits and asses. I've already explained why I think it's wrong, see previous posts. Please remember to post the inlay text.

Try the mix found at the below website: DJ Bertzerker - Battle for the Moonbass

You wrote: "are you gay, strict catholic or a fucking transvestite? " I don't waste my time on ignorant and argument lacking replies like that, hence the short reply. You're the one calling me "a fucking transvestite" so dont' come telling me about interacting with other people. I've explained my view regarding this cover, you haven't. I hardly doubt that any inlay text could save that cover, if you think it could, please post the text. I'll be more than happy to change my opinion about the cover if the text provides any ground for it.

Last week I started a topic about stupid covers, this week it's a topic about good covers.

Naked women and fully dressed men, the expression of sacred and equality, now I've heard it all. -
Hi Chris and Mary, nice party last weekend. Can't wait for the next one. Any way, I just wanted to share with you this new site I found. It's a poker site where you can actually win viagra pills and download new movies while you're playing!!!! It's the best site on the net!!!! Regards, Tom and Kate

Ah, Beast, one of few collaborations that actually surpassed the expectations. A Beast album, or that rumoured Infernal Machine live album, would be heaven.

The problem with reviewers that receive promos is that they tend to describe the music in very broad terms and avoid an actual position on the music. A generic and unimaginative release doesn't result in a negative review, the conclusion is that "the album might appeal fans of the sound". In my opinion, that doesn't qualify as a review, it's rather product information. It's obvious that reviews in mags are based on promos, but on a public forum people who receive promos and review them should add that information to their review.

Ok, I confess, I totally forgot about Ofer's side projects. Oforia, Tandu and Pigs in Space certainly doesn't qualify him as a one day wonder. My bad.
-
Yeah, well, I see your point.
-
Two great albums, singles and compilation tracks does not make an artist a one day wonder, maybe a jaded old timer, but definitely not a one day wonder.

You have got to be a troll.
