It's not a review, it's the promotional material...

Goa is a subgenre of Psychedelic trance. Goa focused on the eastern vibe, mysticism, revelations through psychedelics, that kind of thing. Psy focused on weird music in general. I guess you could say that goa is the religious cousin of the post-modern urban Psy. The best link is the compilation releases of the cutting edge label back then, TIP Records. Listen to their colour compilations (yellow, orange, blue) and Infinite Excursions and then compare it to Phosphorescent, 3D, and the TIP Singles compilations. The Phosphorescent compilation made people speak of psy-trance instead of goa trance. Phosphorescent was one of the most important compilations back then. It might not have been the first compilation to show case what could be called psy-trance, but it was the compilation that brought the sound to the masses.

At the first couple of listens I didn't like this album, after a month or two I gave it another listen and fell in love with it completely. This is actually one of last years best albums. I fail to see how some say it's not psychedelic, cause it is, all the way. Sure, it's not the in your face psychedelia a la Pleiadians, but it's the kind of warm and deep psychedelic vibe you would expect from anything Nick Barber (Doof) is involved in. This album does infact have Doof written all over it. If you're waiting for a new Doof album, you should give this one a chance. There's lots of good melodies (yes, good melodies!), warm atmospheres and depth through out this little gem.

It's a tribute...

I think it says more about where "psy" is heading than it says about the hard dance community.

Kind of hard to judge based on just one tune, but my first impression is: 90's rave. I bet it goes down well with the teenagers. Could you dig up a link to an entire mix?

It had to be said, well done.

Recently released: Chronica Chapter 2 Aspara

The label was speaking of their artists, you said: "a 8 year old would do better music". I don't have that much time to waste, sorry.
-
Here's what you wrote in the stop the flood thread yesterday: Then look for something with more quality. Your rooster is of such a low standard that a 8 year old would do better music. You complain about people bashig artists but you're doing the same thing yourself. Get off your high horse or live as you preach.

Recently released and far above average: V.A. - Apsara - Suntrip Magnetrixx - Wired Midimiliz - Non Standards V.A. - Chronika Chapter 2

Yeah, right.

One hour earlier you wrote: It's ok to critisise in a constructive way but to always have to listen to "annoyed" people about our music is getting very annoying to us artists. "Suck in general" doesn't strike me as very constructive critisism...

I was only talking about your compilations. It's still a flood. In what way does your doubled sales change my opinion about your compilations? I believe: - there are too many labels, artists and releases for the scene too support. That is, there are more releases per individual now than there was in the 90's. - low quality releases, just because your running label you can't expect people to buy your releases. If you release crap, and I happen to think you do, people won't buy your releases. now how about providing us with some hard facts about how MP3 and artist are killing the market. I'm especially interested in knowing how artists are the cause. My opinion will change when you release quality compilations. Good luck i the process!

They all release crap. What's different about Ketuh is that they caught my attention in their early days, but now they're going down the same route as all other labels, quantity over quality. Ketuh was a label that had the possiblity to develop their sound into something interesting, but decided to go downhill, I think it's a spot on choice. That's correct! I expect at least 70% of the tracks to be good if I'm to buy anything. I do not listen exclusively to psy-trance and there's tons of good non-psy-trance releases out there so I rather spend my money on something else. I vote with my wallet. If a label releases 70% filler material I won't buy it. If you want to support labels that release compilations with less than 3 good tracks then you are free to waste your money, have fun!

Was/is Israel an important LSD exporter?

I would like the evolution to be less genre focused and more focused on psychedelic music. A mix of serious head music and light hearted extroverted groovy fun music would be lovely. My dream party would be a blend of deep house, techno, psy-trance and the new interpretations of samba, tango and jazz. People gathering to enjoy the borderless psychedelic music experience, rather then the genre specific psychedelic trance experience. ...and let's hope that the "goa trance is the most advance music in the universe" spirit fades away for good.

Well, who is the secret member then?

music that make you go that crazy you want to pull

I guess that what this scene could use is some kind of international psy-trance artists organization. Such an organization could outline the "should be in theres" and "shouldn't be in theres" of a basic contract.
