Old school artists / tracks not well known but very good
Trolsk replied to Manuser's topic in General Psytrance
I love topics like these, I finally get some use for my arkane goa trance knowledge. Here are some more excellent lesser known tracks: -
My "Sunshine Neo Goa"-playlist @ Spotify is all melodic neo goa tracks, enjoy!
-
Mindsphere is the best melodic neo goa act out there. His best track is Floating in a Widescreen: Another great one is Gate of Sadness: His best album is Mental Triplex: Presence. Enjoy!
-
The Happy Mistakes track is even better!
-
We should all be super excited about this! First the Hallucinogen, Hujaboy, Strider track, then the Happy Mistakes EP by the Noodniks: And now Simon is announcing at Facebook that he's "tinkering with the techno again...": https://fb.watch/2lyARcZuKe/ I wouldn't be surprised if he makes enough new tracks for a Hallucinogen tour. It would be a very good way to earn back some of the money he most likely lost in 2020, because of all the cancelled gigs. The demand for a Hallucinogen tour is sky high! 2021 will be a great year!

When is someone going to come up with something new?
Trolsk replied to fluorosis's topic in General Psytrance
In 2019 I ended up at a hardstyle dancefloor and I had a great night! I went to a Swedish festival called Scandinavia Electronic Festival (the most uninspiring name ever). The music was mainly mainstream psytrance and hardstyle. GMS was one of the headliners. I was somewhat curious as to what they/he would sound like today, and it was pure crap. Really, really awful. It was mostly covers of various pop songs. So I decided to visit the hardstyle floor instead. I never returned to the psytrance floor. Don't listen to the music in advance, because it's pretty stupid, but at a party, it's lots of fun and very hedonistic. It all felt very new and fresh. Go there without prejudice and you might be happily surprised. I never ever would have thought that I would find hardstyle fun, but it was great. I will never listen to it at home, but I will certainly visit hardstyle dancefloors again. -
When is someone going to come up with something new?

If you want something new, I strongly urge you to listen to Mandragora, his music is really psychedelic and versatile. Another recent discovery that sounds very fresh to my ears is Lunarave: Luigi Tozzi also deserves to be mentioned: Dj sets by Amelie Lens and Charlotte De Witte are always great, they're not new, but they always get me excited: -
I'm sure most of you have heard this excellent dj set by Simon Posford, otherwise you are in for a treat: Are there more psytrance dj sets by Posford out there? (Please, don't recommend Shpongle dj sets.)

This is nothing less than amazing, the fundraiser reached it's goal well before its September 10 deadline! More than 2,500 people contributed over $10,000,000 in gifts ranging from $1 to $1,000,000. This means that a total of $30 000 000 has been raised. Here's the full press release.

My youtube recommendations aren't all that exicting, I have my viewing history turned off, so I only get recommendations based on the channels I follow; none of which are related to psychedelics and science. Btw, if anyone of you know of such a channel, please reply! :-) Psychedelics will play an important role in saving (or rather rewriting) our civilization, and that's why it's so important to get solid scientific evidence for the long term benefits of psychedelics. If I remember correctly, Rick Doblin claims that if the FDA trials are successful, the FDA can't prevent MDMA from being classified as a medicine, and if it gets classified as a medicine it will no longer be classified as a schedule I drug. Science overrules politics. Psychedelics have been influencing western culture and science ever since they were introduced back in the 50's/60's. The most well known examples being the discovery of the DNA molecule and advances in computer science. I highly (no pun intended) recommend you to read Tom Wolfe's great book The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test. It tells the story of how the CIA wanted to know the effects of LSD and therefor gave it to volunteers at Stanford University. This CIA operation was known as MK Ultra. The CIA hadn't tried LSD themselves and were unaware of the life changing effects it can have on people. One of the volunteers was Ken Kesey. He was so amazed by the experience that he wrote his world famous book One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. He then used the money from the book to travel around the USA and preached the gospel of LSD. That tour kickstarted the hippie era, and the parties he threw are pretty much the precursor to rave parties. I'm sure most of you are familiar with this story. If you want to read a shorter version of this story, here's an article. But I encourage you to read the book, and spend lots of time looking at old footage at youtube and wikipedia, it makes an already great book even better.

Here's another story about psilocybin as a treatment for addiction and anxiety. Please note that this is written about all over the media, not some small obscure psychedelic magazines, the above article is from CBS.

I recently asked you to help make MDMA a medicine. I was a bit surprised about the comments, many seemed to be unaware of the current research on psychedelics. In the US, John Hopkins university has a Center for Psychedelic and Consciousness Research: This article is a pretty good overview of some of the promising research going on. I encourage you to read Michael Pollan's book How to change your mind. He's a very well known and respected journalist, that decided to write about the research on psychedelics and try it himself. The book got a lot of attention when it was released. Joe Rogan has of course interviewed him, if you want to get a quick overview of what the book is all about. Pollan has even been invited to Google to talk about his book. Some are starting to think that psychedelics might be something like antibiotics for the mind. Polland argues that the benefit of psychedelics will be greater the older you are. He had some previous experience with psychedelics in his youth, and back then it was a good trip, but as he's older he finds it to be a reset of his mind, or something along those lines. I'm pretty sure he talks about it with Rogan. In Canada, they just allowed people dying of cancer to do psychedelic mushrooms to alleviate the fear of dying. In Wales a police boss wants magic mushrooms reclassified and used to treat mental health problems. The list goes on. Psychedelics might turn out to be powerful medicine.

Listen to Tim Ferris' interview with Rick Doblin, the results and the work being done with MDMA and psilocybin is very promising.

At the moment, MDMA is classified as a schedule I drug by the DEA: If the phase 3 trials can verify the strong positive results of the previous two trials, then MDMA will be classified as a pharmaceutical drug, and can be used in psychology for the treatment of PTSD. MDMA will still be a scheduled drug. It will not be legalized, and it can only be used legally in a psychotherapy session. This is about helping people with PTSD, it is not about making MDMA available to the general public.
-
Noone is, I am however promoting a scientific study of a substance (in accordance with FDA regulations) to find out if it has long lasting therapeutic effects on PTSD. At the moment the effects are very promising.
-
The effects are long lasting:
-
The URL for the fundraiser is capstone.maps.org, so no, this is not some scam, and MAPS is very well known: "Founded in 1986, the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit research and educational organization that develops medical, legal, and cultural contexts for people to benefit from the careful uses of psychedelics and marijuana."
-
I'm very surprised about the negative comments here. Read this quote again: Those are amazing results! There is no known treatment for PTSD that is better than MDMA-assisted psychotherapy. Please notice that people are not asked to take MDMA at their home, but rather to take MDMA during a psychotherapy assisted session, and with follow up sessions. 67 % of people treated had no PTSD 12 months after the sessions. That's nothing less than amazing. This is not a temporary high, this has long lasting effects. The whole point of the study is to replicate the above study but with a larger group to get more accurate results. MDMA can be classified as a medicine if there are strong positive clinical results. This is not a an attempt to influence politicians into legalize MDMA, it's an attempt to get scientific results (of the highest standard) to get the FDA to approve MDMA as a medicine. I encourage you to read this interview with Rick Doblin and to listen to Tim Ferris interview with Doblin, before you jump to conclusions. Here's a short documentary about a soldier being treated for PTSD with MDMA, and here's a longer documentary on the same subject.

Hi all! This is kind of off topic, but it's also kind of on topic, but most important, this could be a major breakthrough so please contribute if you can afford: Click here if you want to contribute or if you want to know more: https://capstone.maps.org/ And listen to Tim Ferris' interview with Rick Doblin. The Tim Ferris podcast is available at Spotify, among others.

Thanks for your recommendations, I like them all, but they were a bit more introvert than what I hand in mind. I'm looking for more of a extrovert morning vibe. But I I'll save your recommendations for another playlist! :-) Btw, I've added some more tunes since I started the topic. It's a public playlist in case anyone would like to follow it.
-
Hi! I've made a Spotify playlist with tracks that are a bit slower than your usual psytrance, the common denominator being full blown melodic psychedelic tunes with a morning vibe and a steady 4/4 beat and released during this century. So far, the playlist consist of: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6WNQzpD4JqJa5OO1lfnKyg?si=pR2Ce2bxSAevostR3bnHtQ I'm sure you guys could suggest even more tracks that would be worthy additions to the playlist! :-)

Curious, is there some NEW stuff (after 2010 or so) which....
Trolsk replied to Multi-Media's topic in General Psytrance
There's nothing quite like their We Created Our Own Happiness album, but I would recommend albums that lean more towards trance like Organized Noise by Source and A Blueprint for Survival by Blue Planet Corporation There Will Be No Armageddon by Union Jack Wildlife On One by Art of Trance Early Platipus records compilations Beyond that you'll have to become a track hunter and spend your days digging for those single special tracks. :-) -
I recently stumbled across an artist called Alpha Tracks, and I think you guys would love his music. I would label it old school acid trance with a modern touch, really good. If you like the above, I have compiled a Spotify playlist with what I consider to be his best tracks. Enjoy!

He is indeed a great and versatile artist. I play Green House Effects album Global Warming every spring and summer, and Sandman is perfect for autumn and winter. Psycho Toons was loved by most people on the old 604 mailing list (back in the day), and we were all hoping for a third album. There was a rumor back then that there actually was a third album, but that it didn't get released because it was "too psychedelic". Probably just a rumor, but now and then, I hope that it will turn out to be true and the holy grail that is the mythic third Sandman album will be released.

You need to track down Trance Mix 3. Only tracks by Har-El Prussky, Yan-iv Haviv and Edi Mis. A reviewer at Discogs wrote this about that compilation:
