I've been looking for this remix ever since I heard of it, but I still haven't found it. Is it exclusive for their live sets or has it found its way to the net/Soulseek yet?
-
Well, it doesn't really matter what artist is being remixed as long as the end result has something to add or offer. Rude Ass Tinker has remixed Aimee Mann's "One" and Mc Hammer's "Can't touch this" and the end product is really good. What makes his remixes special is that they are so fundamentaly different from the original and you only recognize small parts. Remixes done by the isra-clones will be crap 99% of the time but that should come as no surprise as their standard output is 99% carp. A Britney Spears remix could be very cool if someone with talent and a twisted brain (read Texas Faggott) remixed it. Psy-trance has always been inspired by pop culture, just look at all the samples, especially the multitude of obvious Matrix samples. The trick is to put these samples in a new context and the same applies to the remixes. I'm still waiting for a psychedelic Ghostbusters theme song remix.

That's a good example of a great remix.

You can't review an album based on three minute samples! Send us a link to the tree minute samples instead.
-
Yes, but it probably means a lot of the tunes from the demo have already been released on compilations or on their album.

I viewed some of your recent photos and they are indeed great!! Keep up the good work! Take care

Goa trance was the sound inspired by the parties in Goa; eastern spiritualism fused with western post-materialism and electronics. The music was very melodic, full of filter sweeps from analog synths and lots of sci-fi samples were used. Psy-trance came into existence when goa trance spread over the world and (the) Goa (experience) seased to be the main source of inspiration. Psy-trance became the umbrella under which all styles of psychedelic electronic headfuck trance music was found, be it goa trance or aussie madness. Some claim that psy-trance has been used paralell with goa trance since the beginning but the term became widely used when TIP released their groundbreaking "Phosphorescent" compilation. That compilation introduced a much darker sound and more weird noises; a clear departure from the goa trance sound. Goa trance is a sub genre of psychedelic trance, in that regard there is no difference between the two, it's all psychedelic trance, but goa trance is also a distinctive sound, and in that regard there is a difference. That's my short explanation of goa trance and psy-trance.

I know what you mean and that's how I listen to psy-trance. Problem is that the emotional range of psy-trance is limited, psychedelic music tends to be quite introverted and demand a lot of attention and psy-trance lacks the important groove. So variation really is the key for me.

Hey, you used to be on the 604 list a few years back, right? I think I gave you some feedback on your photos or something like that... Take care!

Hi there and welcome! Here's a thread about where the boards members are from: http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=22130 Take care!

Hey, the above isn't a review, it's just the release information: http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/spl/spl1cd002.html

Variation is the key! I've been enjoying psy-trance since 1996 and by now a lot of it tends to sound the same, and besides there's really no reason to limit yourself to just one style of music when there's tons of excellent music out there!
-
The man certainly has the right attitude towards music, but unfortunately the music he produces these days does nothing for me.
-
1996: alien abduction, anal probe, weird music in the background, the rest is history.
-
It's a masterpiece! Lot's of variation among the tracks and great flow in general. One of my favorite releases.
-
This could turn out to be really interesting! Btw, does anyone know if we will get a new Doof album soon? I love "It's about time" and a new album would be great.
-
Well, Trancelestial Psychobabas is one C. Andersson, and that tends to be the alias of one Kristian Thinning, aka Elysium, aka Elysium Project, aka your fellow board member E.P. Would that be correctly asumed E.P?

Hi there Ensign, I recommend the following albums to you: The Misted Muppets - From the Legend Prometheus - Robot-O-Chan (Prometheus is one half of Younger Brother) Phutureprimitive - Subconcious (Shpongle style) Bluetech - Elementary Particles These are all relative new releases so there shouldn't be any problem finding them. Hope you like them, take care.
-
It's their demo cd before they had an actual release on any label.
-
I know of a Ohm didjiuediedi tune, but I have never heard of a Ohm didjauedaeda track, sorry. Seriously, make a sample of it and upload it somewhere and we'll id it for you before you can say Aum Shivaya, boom booleant, boom shankar!
-
Now we're getting somewhere!
-
There are several reasons why people may choose not to buy this release besides the full on tracklist, and that's what makes this poll so useless; it's bipolar, and peoples motives are not.
-
The information about this release at Discogs is probably all there is to know about this release, so what is it you hope to learn besides that???
-
It never is. This poll is useless.

You're missing the haven't decided yet option...
