  1. This is exactly what neogoa has been missing; deep, dark and twisted music. Instant purchase!
  2. That was my first thought too, but Igorrr is just weirder and a lot more fun. Listen to this track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbWZlR-uAIg Better yet, listen to the full album, Hallelujah (available at Spotify).
  3. Have you listened to Igorrr? No? You should. It's Shpongle inverted, and über psychedelic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKp30C3MwVk Enjoy!
  4. I'm listening to the February 2013 mix, and at 57:20 there's a track that sounds a lot like Quirk, but it's not any of the tracks on their debut album, and as far as I can recall there weren't any tracks with that sound on their follow up album. Any ideas? Is it an unreleased Quirk track? It contains the sample, "that's fucking crazy man". I searched the sample @ psydb.net, no results.

  6. Oh, and here's another Tsuyoshi goa mix: https://soundcloud.com/djtsuyoshi/djtsuyoshi-matsuri-goa-trance
  7. I just stumbled over this: https://soundcloud.com/matsuri-digital There are two Tsuyoshi Suzuki mixes, one from 94 (live @ Return to the source!), and one new mix, with old school goa! I'm listening to the 94 mix right now, feeling very happy. !!!
  8. Great! The mystery is finally solved and our suspicion confirmed.
  9. Very good mix! I like that you focus on the vibe, rather than on the genre.
  10. I like your track selection, but you should have lowered the volume on the Attenborough samples, because of the volume they don't merge well with the mix, especially noticeable if played on large speakers (i.e. the samples 19-20 min). Listen to Tone Tales From Tomorrow by Coldcut for inspiration: http://www.discogs.com/Various-Tone-Tales-From-Tomorrow/release/145130
  11. I loved the mix (of old and new) up until the Derango & Horses tracks, after that you kind of lost me. :-/
  12. Many of you know of the so called demo scene. I haven't really seen any releases from it since the 90's, but I youtubed some new releases last night and found two amazing releases by Andromeda Software Development that I think most of you will like: I'm sure there are other great psychedelic releases out there, so post below.
  13. If you manage to make a deep mix of new music you might restore my fate in psytrance. Good luck! You probably consider the below recommendations to be too old (2005-2006), but they would fit well with that SBK track: Midimiliz - Non standards Kino Oko - Lost Entertainment Triac - Mean Between V/A - Refresh - Aeon Records V/A - Rewired - Jester Records V/A - Abracadabra
  14. Kruder & Dorfmeister – The K&D Sessions The Irresistible Force - It's Tomorrow Already V/A – Cold Krush Cuts V/A - Tone Tales from Tomorrow V/A - Tone Tales from Tomorrow 2 If you want more check out the label Ninja Tunes, they're the equivalent of TIP or Dragonfly.
  15. You should all read The Electric Kool Aid Acid Test if you haven't read it.
  16. I've listened to your mix several times this week and I like it a lot. Good track selection and flow. Recommended.
  17. Yeah, it's terrible isn't it? Seriously, pick a random psytrance cover from any year post 2000 and there's a good chance it's some lame fantasy-sci-fi-futuristic-matrix-photoshop shit. Compare some recent techno cover art with some recent psytrance cover art. Psytrance cover art sucks 99 % of the time. Judging by the samples it feels tired and uninspiring.
  18. It's just January and already there's a contender for worst cover art of 2011.
  19. Nice topic Ormion! Here are some favourites of mine: Eco - Delhi Dancer http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCT2pDzP0Pk Hiscore - Identify Amazing track! http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHg9D2V0dA8 And two pure dark psychedelic tracks that are not on Youtube: Universal Island - M.Stick Nucleus - Spooked
  20. A great album! Kind of reminds of Koyote records sound. I wish there were more twisted melodic releases like this one.

    Gappeq

Thanks for the recommendation! I love it, one of the top albums of the year.

    Gappeq

I'll check out his compilation tracks. I'm looking for organic, living, breathing music, be it dark, twisted or melodic, but Gappeq's style strikes me as the exact opposite.
  23. I used to think that Gappeq was the most exciting new artist. Whenever he released a new track I would track it down, and I was always disappointed that such a great track was released on compilations with (at best) generic tracks. His debut album was the biggest disappointment in recent years, and his new album, Made of Clay, is another disappointment. His sound used to be psychedelic and full of great melodies, twists and turns, but then he went dark and removed the melodies, or at best, minimized their presence. Don't get me wrong, this is not about the melodies, but about what used to be an artist with a sound. If someone were to play some of his earlier tracks such as Birth of the Dragon, One Soul or Theory of Everything you would easily recognize any of them again. If someone were to play you any of his new dark tracks chances are you would not recognize them again. I love artists that dare to explore their creativity and evolve their sound, but in this case his new dark sound is not even close to be as great as his old sound. I don't know what I'm getting at, I guess I'm just sad that what used to be a great act is now lost in a harsh and completely dead soundscape. RIP
  24. Great video!
