  1. I woke up this morning with 2 bands in my head. Orbital and XDream. First one, they are working in a new album right now!! good news!! at least for me........ Second one.... I found a new website for the band.http://gplusrecords.com/xdream/ where you can find a gig calendar. Well not to busy really, but something new. Actually they play Hamburg tonight. (Any promoter from Berlin..... bring them over!!!). I thought that they where in different projects now and not much into Xdream anymore. Actually they last album was from 2003 or 2004 (apart from the march ep). But after the gig in Ozora, now this new website.... are they in the come back?? Has anyone around have any info about?? Any new releases?? It is just so hard to find any info about them anywhere......
  2. Somewhere, I dont really know where, but somewhere, there is a difused line between psytrance and eurotrance (harthouse, etc.....), and for what it seems...... they already crossed it. Someone should tell them that Ibiza is closing down!!!!
  3. Quite cool, thanks for the tip. It reminds me to Electrocado......
  4. the key to success is persistence, and that, you really have it............
  5. There are lots of tricks to get some art done without having to wait for inspiration. Any writer, painter, designer, musician, will know them. But the silly thing as you said here, is those 3 years since the anouncement. Anyway, with the path many artist from the time have taken, and those promo pictures I just have the feeling, that whenever this thing comes out will be plain cheese full on....... Another good reason to keep avoiding fakebook.........
  6. I would recommend the radioactive sandwich album, which has been release for free. http://www.radioactivesandwich.com/awod.html
  7. the mix of elements from others styles into trance (classical music, or the used of real piano sounds.....) Their skills with synths and effects, at least Erez skills, and all the new sounds they came with at the time. The power of their tracks in the dance floor. In that they were unique at the time. Maybe they sounded like cartoon music, but they gave a twist to the genre at the time. They were one of the first to come up with what we know now as FullOn, and although fullon has became boring a repetitive, it is not their fault, but all the one´s that came copying after them. Obviously they went too cheesy at some point..... Like many others....... For me it is a pity the direction they took, like it is a pity the direction some others artist are taking in the trance and others music scenes........ but just that.... a pity.....
  8. I just don´t understand it, as said before, such a waste of talent......
  9. all of them so far pre 2000, even pre 1997 nearly...... For me best is "Mark Allen - A sonic initiation" http://www.discogs.com/Mark-Allen-Trancentral-Five-A-Sonic-Initiation/master/36848 A perfect trip.........
  10. Yesesss I did not know this Orbital tune....... It sounds very similar to their first album "Green". At first I thought this was a remix or a mix between 2 tunes. They really rocked, so sad they decide to split up........ Cool party!! If today was 1991, I would really loved to take part of it!!!
  11. Lots of thoughts here together...... I have the feeling that you focus to very specific details when you look at the scene, rather than seeing it as a whole. For example with the spiritual trend within psytrance. This is just a little part of the scene. Maybe, just more influential in some local scenes than in others, but there´s trance in many countries and everyone has their unique vision of it. Relating to symbols, Shiva makes a lot of sense in a scene that is about dance, trance and getting off your head. With fashion as an example, when visiting a international festival, you can see many many different outfits. This is always been like this. From flouro cybergdog, to elfs, to every day sport clothing, to just a swim custom, to dressed up people, to more hippie, to more punkie, to people disguised..... etc... there is not one clear trend like gothic, or heavy metal have. With such a wide selection is hard to decide which to dispose. No need to. Obviously there are thinks I don´t like too, but I can just ignore them and carry on with what tickles me. I understand that for you, the space for this music should be something different, but this is what it has come to with the input of many people around the globe. Push for your vision locally and make us all be jealous of it. Trying not to go too much offtopic..... about deco, I thing money has a lot to do with no big setups in parties, and about music, to dump that fullon one note bassline is and emergency. Cheeeerss
  12. Total Eclipse Etnica Transwave Cosmosis Doof Out: Astral Projection
  13. Quirk used a lot of percussion made melody, or melodies done out of percussive elements. Very effective on the dancefloor. and also very funky. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCnMRZWsHZ8&feature=youtu.be Also they have a few tunes with real sounds recorded and worked out with the sampler. I remembered reading and interview were they would confirm that Ping is a pin pong game somewhere in Turkey. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aKEzwJlv1U&feature=youtu.be
  14. X Dream Etnica Chi-A.D. Slide Hallucinogen This is becoming complicated .......
  15. Darshan Etnica Chi-A.D. Slide Technossomy
  16. have to say that i dont know dakini catalogue really........ but that could not stop me from voting Liquid Sound Design.......
  17. It is a general problem, but not only within the trance scene. What many are doing with their bands now, is musically way ahead of most of the electronic stuff. I wished everyone would worry more about the score than how their kick sound.
  18. Completely agreed. The trance scene had always many different people coming from very different backgrounds. There would be the lost hippies in india, but also people from the acid house scene, from playing in rock bands, etc...... Many brought their symbols. The Shivas are there, but also all the fluoro from the acid, and a lot of the rock mythology, elfs etc...... Aliens I guess came from outer space........ This wide spectrum of people coming together and putting their 2 cents into the scene is what makes it so open minded. Later on, each one is free to believe or adopt what better suits him/her. As an example, I am not really into religion, but yoga really makes you feel better and improves your life.
  19. Both sides are cool, but I would still say that fluorostani seems to get older better. I think Synchronicity Converger has this 90ties acid lines that revealed very much the time when it was done. Fluorostani sounds timeless.
  20. A really really cool track!! one of the best outputs from the scene, although maybe not as known as some other goa classics. It gets better with the years..... like good wine!!
  21. Obviously not every single person in the room, but the distinction was there and many people could tell. People buying the music and interested on it further than a weekend party. Looking at the same time to the techno scene, not even the djs could. This must be the new marco carola´s single yeah??? really hard to guess..... Trance bands were so different to each other, and there was so much freedom at composing. Less rules bla bla bla..... But only 2 names for it, goa or psy, so always space for discovering new different stuff with in this limits. With all this labels and sub genres now, is like if someone would tell you the end of the movie before you play the cd, and like if the spectrum of music was narrower now. To the initial question, no need to dump one of the them. Goa trance and Psy trance are the same, or really different to each other. The border between will be where each one wants to see it, depending on each one trance culture and understanding. And is really nice this way, as when someone comes with a cool new goa band, you might only guess what it´s coming. So let me guess................. you don´t like hippies right???
  22. Thats cool!!! Thanks Best name for a band here..... Laser Cowboys!!!
  23. A distinctive thing from psygoatrance music was always how different bands would sound from each other. They would all be under the same scene, but music was always different and unpredictable. people could just guess the band listening to the music and know if it was, Xdream, GMS, Etnica,Hallucinogen, Quirk, Orion, Electric Universe, Tim Schuld, Sun Project, Psychaos, Hux Flux, Johan Bley, Darshan, Cosmosis, Space Cat, Space Tribe, Xerox & Freeman, Manmademan...bla...bla..bla.........bla Now with all this labels it seems you already know what are you gonna get as soon as you enter the party or play the cd. The dont leave much space for the surprise element, what was a really nice feeling when coming into a party.
