at the most 25 prisioners would die. First one says the color of the hat from the guy just below him, instead of trying to guess his. If he is lucky he lives, if he is not lucky he dies, but the guy below survives as he already knows the color of his hat. Following guy announce the color of the hat from the guy below him..... and so on... At the most 25 die, if no one of the odd numbers is lucky enough to have same hat color as his fellow even mate.

How can we make Psynews more active? Post your ideas/opinions.
CoLoUr DoTZ replied to Ormion's topic in Psynews.ORG
I´m one of those stalkers, i read a lot psynews but don´t participate much. Lack of time, my point of view is already written by another member, I´m not so much into goa trance but other styles of Psytrance that don´t get covered much here lately, lazyness........... One of the things I really like from psynews are the interviews to artists, it would be cool if more updated interviews from new artists come. And not only musicians, but also deco artists, lighting artists, label managers, party organizers, thinkers, etc...... Some discussion later about the points made by the artists could develop a nice thread. Also maybe a Q&A with some of the artists would be amazing. So for example a little forum or thread with questions to Boom organizers, that they can answer later on. Moderated to avoid problems of course......... As mentioned earlier one of the great values of Psynews is the review section. Maybe it could be boosted with a poll system, so people can also vote. Or maybe with a short questioning system, like evaluating musicality, quality of production, energy, innovation, etc........... With a poll system would also "The best of year 20.." be already shorted out. Also the news forum is very slow, only the labels, producers or party promoters come to announce themself, and only a few of them do. It would be great to have a feed system with new realeases, party announcements, clothing and art news, etc...... That could be commented afterwards. Last but not least, a contact forum could make psynews also a bit more lively. Producers looking for colaborations, or for someone else in their city to make music with, people in need of a lift to a festival, a place to announce that you found someone wallet or sunglasses at a festival, where to find people to help to put a party in some non trancy area, etc....... Maybe, some of the ideas are a bit stupid, or something you already thought and don´t see relevant. They are things I liked to see here and that would make me participate more, so I just take the opportunity this thread gives....... -
Pretty expensive tshirt......, you didn´t tell your parents the money was for a tshirt, did you??

Behind the music - conceptualism in Goa trance
CoLoUr DoTZ replied to Richpa's topic in General Psytrance
The line between them both ist quite thin. Just the slogan "we are one" could be take as an anti-racism call, and that is politics. To my understanding psytrance was always into what I would call passive activisim, politically awared, but not politically involved. It would be a pitty that parties and scene dilute into just another clubby genre and loose the spiritualism and principles. Some well choosed messages spreaded in some tunes won´t get anyone out of the trance experience. It might even boost it. Ok, you don´t like the album, you made your point clear....... -

completely agreed...... A great concept album is X-dream´s "We Interface", about how the comunication patterns in our society are nowadays. -
Are you trying to export to another cubase project or to other daw?? Logic can save the state of a whole track as preset, probably also cubase, but you could only open it in cubase. When not, open each effect, save the presets, export midi, then import midi in new project, open an instance from each effect, load preset. For a couple of tracks is not much work, for many is a pain in the arse. Other option is to commit to what you have. Print to audio, track and send tracks, import in new project. There´s also proconvert from ssl......... If you need to convert between sequencers. http://solidstatelogic.com/music/pro-convert_mac/

It really is a great speech. It is so easy to forget what music is about and get distracted with technology nowadays..... Having thousands of possibilities should only be that, possibilities to serve the music only when they are requiered. Very aliked in a way is Pensado´s place, a great program for people interested in sound and music with many great people sharing not just technic, but also they way to see music. http://www.pensadosplace.tv

I have kind of the same opinion, I actually dislike very much the access virus , but I was not referring to all the Virtual analogs, but to all the new analogs like Dave Smiths stuff, new Moogs, Jomox, MFB, Vermona, Studio Electronics, Cwejman, acidlab etc etc..You can get an idea of what is out there in the analog world in Schneiders Büro website. http://www.schneidersladen.de/en/ That is really cool!! I met a few years ago a guy call Arguru, he had a trance band called Alienated Buddha and they made lots of stuff with this softsynth he had written. He got to sell the code and the softsynth is what we know now as DiscoDSP Discovery. What is your soft based on?? Subtractive synthesis?? some sort of digital sound generation?? Any samples somewhere??? -
How do you get organized?
CoLoUr DoTZ replied to Goa Travellers's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Then you can not. Some vintage synths can be midified ( i believe ), some others no. Mostly only note messages can be sent throught the CV inputs, so all tweaking must be done live a be recorded in audio. This is good as the musicians interpretation and feel stays in the tune. I just don´t like to much all this perfected edited stuff. On the other hand, there is now so many new Analog synths with midi, patch saving, etc... that sound really good. All vintage synths are starting to be only a collectors object, and their expensive 2nd hand prices don´t make sense anymore. -

CoLoUr DoTZ replied to Goa Travellers's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
i´m just a Hobbyist musician who loves to play with synths, as a guitarist plays his guitar, although from time to time I play the record button.... I quite would like to hear also how other people organize themselves.... Do you use only hard synths and drum kits, or only soft ones, or a mixture? Anything that makes sound, kids toys, synths, papers, a tomato, a door....... anything... Do you use the PC sequencer for both live performance and at the studio? I don´t play live, at home yeap, a classic horizontal sequencer. How do you manage/remember all positions of pots on analog vintage synths when going from one tune to another, in order to always have the expected sound? I record them as audio. Do you separate all audio outputs of all possible instruments, for left/right? (e.g. L/R for kick drum, L/R for lead, L/R/ for pad, L/R for synth 1, L/R for bass line, etc.) That would be n instruments × 2 audio channels = twice the number of instruments for the whole number of audio channels... I have a mixer only for tracking, but I record everything in mono, there is not such a thing as a stereo synth, only ones with effects, but I try to record everything dry and use effects after. Do you gather audio outputs on the mixing console by logical groups? (e.g. two slide pots for L/R of all drummer kit, two slide pots for all special effects, two slide pots for basses, etc...) Yes, and most of the time I use same channel numbers for same things. This way I know always where everything is. Do you record all MiDi events such as turning pots, selecting the instrument? Try to record everything as audio. When there is lots of tweaking yeah, I record live the tweaking a few times, and then print to audio. Did you split your MiDi channels according to your instruments? (e.g. channels 1 to 10 for drummer kit ; channels 11 to 20 for synths, etc.) Here every synth has it´s own input, so no need to split. I also don´t use much multis in synths When composing, do you first compose the main instrument from the beginning to the end, then on top, add the rhythm from the beginning to the end, then the bass, then the pad, then create transitions, then add effects. Or, do you compose at a slower pace but you compose all instruments at the same time, and you even add and fine-tune all effects as you move on? Hard to tell, but mostly I lay harmony and progressions first and melodies and effects later.... Did you find a way to simulate slide pot motions using MiDi on your analog synths with a CV/Gate to MiDi interface? Or isn't there a way? I don´t understand the question...... If you mix MP3s, how to you keep kick drums in sync from one tune to the other? Is there an automatic procedure, or only the hard way? Have a look at djing with ableton live, there are some documents in their website which explain how. Also have a search at mixing in key concept...... Hope some more people share, I´m also quite curious. -
NEW remix for GMS - Juice . Enjoy
CoLoUr DoTZ replied to omerzadoko1's topic in Free Music Promotion
I like it, lots of energy on it, and more twisted melodies, cool!! By the way, a remix of a remix of a tune..... is also a remix of that tune, or only a remix of the remix??? -
