  1. and youll actually be :posford: -ing, ill just be flailing around and/or staring intently at walls and glowy things...
  2. senor coconut ftw; that guy rocks edit: and has mad aliases, damn. i never really liked a lot of his stuff though aside from the kraftwerk cover album...
  3. kraftwerk -- trans-europe express as far as more contemporary stuff goes i fell in love with the prodigy: experience the first time i heard it.
  4. an oxygen 8 i scored for 30 bucks. i cant complain so far about functionality (other than the lack of sliders), and i like its portability.
  5. goasia -- liquid soul to state the obvious, this album owns.
  6. this is an interesting question; i guess it depends on what you mean by "effective." i cant really speak to crop circles/pleideians b/c im not very familiar with their stuff (astral projection either as i havent really listened to any of their newer stuff). --infected definitely is the most commercially successful, and while i cant stand their more pop/rapmetal/whatever stuff its still brilliantly produced and miles ahead of any other pop/rapmetal/etc. youll encounter on the radio or mtv. and they went from fucking around with DOS trackers to quasi-superstardom--thats awesome imo. youre right, they absolutely sold out, but the segue from pure psy to pure shite was fairly seamless. --posford seems to have stayed close to his roots; of course he doesnt really do goa/psy anymore but he's still making brain-bogglingly psychedelic music of a more "freestyle" bent and appearing at hippy-ish festivals all over the place. not to mention he still can appear as hallucinogen, throw down tracks that are 10 years old, and the crowd goes nuts. i suppose some might consider YB to be a sellout, but i just think its a shift in his musical interests. id say theyre both effective but for different reasons and in different contexts; IM certainly doesnt have a lot of respect among die-hard goa/psy fans anymore but they have a big following among more mainstream listeners and (probably) angst-ridden adolescents. posford doesnt have that kind broad-based appeal but the trance community still anoints him with almost godlike status and he seems to have retained his integrity. my final answer is posford, simply b/c i enjoy listening to everything he's released (unlike IM, where i stopped caring after bp empire).
  7. live 5. i like it, and i know how to use it pretty well, but my overall production and synthesis skills are rudimentary at best.
  8. the uk and ireland=the most gorgeous places on the planet
  9. kindzadza -- can u feel it? i can definitely feel it, this track is nuts! :posford:
  10. i actually got into amon tobin because a bar where i would go sometimes had it on the jukebox; it was actually a pretty lame bar but apparently someone working there liked some good stuff. the xm radio classic country station (i think its called 'willy's world') is pretty kosher.
  11. certain traditional irish songs (and i mean really traditional, not like enya or some bollocks like that) will bring a tear to my eye. music is math by boards of canada too, and some classical pieces which of course i dont know the titles of. shostakovich can definitely do it. one time i seriously broke down listening to a mazzy star album but there were other reasons involved; though now whenever i hear mazzy star i start to get pretty emo because of that experience. as far as psy goes probably nothing; there are of course melodies that make me WANT to cry b/c of how cheesy they are.
  12. i listen to www.psykeout.net's archived shows from time to time when im on public/work computers; i never really tune into anything at a specific time. ill definitely check out the ones mentioned here as far as 'old-fashioned' broadcast radio goes its all garbage where im located other than the local NPR station and a student-run station at university ~50 miles from here (theyll play dnb and breakcore sometimes--sadly its a weak signal and i only hear it when im up that way). never, ever will i hear psy of any kind in ohio on broadcast radio, although i wouldnt be surprised if new infected tracks start appearing on the pop stations
  13. well, it turns out they are in london on the 2nd and ill be on a plane that day...but in light of what you guys said and the isratrance thread i probably wouldnt go anyway. and since it sounds like they get ~5000$US+ for an appearence i probably wouldnt want to pay the admission price (almost certainly ridiculously expensive). ill keep my eye on goabase.de; hopefully something else turns up.
  14. according to astral projection's myspace page theyll be in london on feb. 9...and so will i. i havent heard anything by them lately, would this be worth attending? are there any good websites besides this one for finding psy parties in the london area?
  15. except apparently you need a full version of 6. i only have '6 lite' that came with my oxygen 8. damn.
