Allright: Another full length album out on Tribal Vision, my fav new label! 1 Hide (7:52) 2 Last Jedi (7:35) Featuring - Sonnenvakuum 3 Cloud Buster (Album Mix) (8:27) 4 Amnesia (8:55) 5 Test (7:21) 6 Danger (7:57) 7 Microbes (7:35) 8 Xcute (9:09) 9 Astray (5:31) This is innovative progressive spiced up with some very tasteful, clubby vibes. Where acts like POTS or Gaudium rely more on hypnotising rhythmic structures these Swiss boys keep you smiling with an optimistic melodic touch. It’s been a while since I’ve been this enthusiastic about a recent full album! So it deserves a full track-by-track-review! Hide: Great opening track! Slow house-beats but with a lot of dark & groovy atmosphere. The hypnotising male vocal gives it kind of a clubby feel & there’s nothing wrong with that in my book. If progressive is deep trance than this is an abyss! Last Jedi: One of the weakest tracks in this album imo… The music’s pretty minimal, without surprises… Not bad at all, but the Star Wars-samples seem a bit childish & out of place. Cloud Buster (Album Mix): I already knew this track from the Street Art-compilation, where it’s featured in an André Absolut-RMX. Well, usually André adds something special to the original, this version is WAY better, if you ask me! Nice flow throughout the track & a powerfull rhythm that’s best described as a pounding, uptempo breakbeat. It slightly disappears to the background as the gentle melody breaks through at the end of the track Very cool! Amnesia: Just more warm melodic progressive trance! Nice track but (as the title suggests?) not very memorable in comparison to the rest of the album. Test: Another instant favourite of mine. The gentle melody might lack a little power for some but I think the electro-influences really lift this to another level. Especially since the combination of the cold synth-sound with the warm & positive bass-line works so well. It’s like there a second melody hidden inside the bass! A bit fluffy but it puts a smile on my face & makes me run to the stereo to put in on again from the beginning. Danger: Another ingenious combination that works really well! The main theme is a short & fast melody that sounds like a synthetic xylophone & is repeated throughout the track. But after the break slow, subtle & epic soundscapes creep up out of the underground & make sure the trip doesn’t get boring. Microbes : Nicely sliced-up samples here, too bad they make little sense. But they’re used in a cool way. The music itself, is pumping dancefloor material with enough variation because of the human voices. Xcute : Saving the best for last? This track is pushed forward by a relentless drive & pumping beats. But it’s got everything from build-ups those thrilling progressive waves of white noise that come crushing down all over the track. From morning-festival-stomper to sweaty-nightclub-groover: can’t miss with this one Astray : nice coming down track, I like the emotional female vocals on this one. What can I say more? When5 out of 9 great tracks are sure winners you can’t complain these days! The artwork is very different form the usual Tribal Vision-style graphics, but the futuristic & minimal white look fits the music quite well I think. The POTS-cd really had to grow on me but this has instant appeal. Hopefully that won’t mean I’ll get tired of it any quicker, but only time will tell… Highly recommended release: 8.5/10

we have an international section in the forum as well & we frequently get questions like that over there. Also feel free to drop me a mail: tox@psychedelic.be I think the weekend of 1-2/7 we have Rakti Dei festival...

I'm in love with Sonic Cube ...for the moment

Did 1 rather big trade with Pat so far. All went fine, but you should be prepared to pay some extra customs costs. Very cool guy to negotiate with & his collection is in-cre-di-bly broad. Highly recommended trader if your looking for some non-psy stuff!

Definitly "Land of Freedom" but the rmx is even more genious. The track was named after Martin Freeland (= MWNN)
-
Yes, it was among my top5 cd's of 2005, glad you like it too!
-
Sonic Cube's full album on Tribal Vision...
-
He Daniel? Are you serious? I'm talking about Dino Psaras' 2003 album "Lick it" not some kind of stupid "bulletproof-rmx" or something else he does today... "Vibe tribe & Bizarre contact" are totaly NOT what I'm looking for, nor is Astrix or Infuckted for that matter
-
Although I still have to receive his package I'd recommend trading w Patrick, who's a highly co-operative & generally nice guy. Go for it !

For those who care, the line-up was: Ramses & Norion (Madhatter) Ishtar (Purple Snow / Pon-Q-Mon) Kairon (Kairoo Records) Mahavira (Dance-A-Delic) & Sanaki (Marvelously Groovy) You guys probably don't know anyone from this line-up but let's hope in a year or 2 they've all played in your own countries, they do deserve it

For one: Plastik Park is still active & releases quality progressive trance with a more housy flavour! A great compilations by Sally Doollally was their last effort... So for me bring back: Spirit Zone, Flying Rhino, Distance, Tatsu...

Top 'o the morning to y'all! So once again, thnx everybody for the tips on progressive trance with melodies, but I'm really looking for good, no: great psychedelic trance (incl melodies du-uh ). So indeed, Silicon Sound & Protoculture fit this description, but I've never been blown away by their stuff in the past...
-
Thnx for the tips so far. Yo DP: I wàs aware of the exintence of labels such as Iboga or Tribal Vision (already have loads of their stuff) No Seraph, I'm really looking for something more melodic here. Benza would be a bit to crazy I guess. Thnx for the other tips though, I'll check'em out anyway So I'll check out Voice of Cod & Tron. Especially since Psyreviews gave Tron such a high score & I reckon Damion has a pretty similar taste to mine... But, please do keep'em coming!!

For some reason I have taken the quest upon me to buy some more melodic trance. Problem is, I'm pretty picky In addition to that, I'd like it to be something recent rather than a classic masterpiece. Now what do I like? I'm looking for something along the lines of Dino Psaras' last album "Lick it" & I also like Man With No Name, old tracks aswell as new ones. Preferably not too speedy/fast or just a ton of dark feedback-noise over a heavy beat. The last thing I bought in this genre was the Tegma album "Avant.garde" So, do you guys have any tips on what to check out? I refuse to believe that there's nomore good trance music being made & that I should stick to new prog or chill or collect more older stuff!

alrrrriit!

Nicest voice in the world of Dub: Horrace Andy! Also known from his collaborations with Massive Attack...
-
I haven't heard it myself yet, but ppl suggested that the Sonic Cube album would be more to my liking... Still, can't give an opinion yet.

Check'em out here: http://www.psychedelic.be/coppermine/thumb...s.php?album=321 These are the pictures we took last week-end on the first 100% pure progressive party in Belgium in the last 6 months. Because of problems with the original location we all did our best to get the whole thing moved in 2 days. The line-up was strictly Belgian dj's, no international guests or live-acts but it was a BLAST! Really great to get to hear my own favorite music in a party-environment & NOT having to go all the wayto Germany for it Hope the great vibe comes across through the pictures?

Don't own any of their albums, but "Hale Bopp" is one HELL of a monster-track!! The essence of minimal/progressive to me...

http://www.discogs.com/release/191256 Best Dub-album I own, made by 2 white-boys from Germany... As deep as it get's!
