Our pictures from Klang der essenzen in Germany this Friday. Wouldn't post them in this thread if I didn't think they were kinda special http://www.psychedelic.be/coppermine/thumb...s.php?album=298

We've been taking pic's at parties & festivals for a long time now. Check it out: http://www.psychedelic.be/coppermine/index.php IMHO: 1) I can take a picture of anything I want 2) Wheather it will be put online is a totally different matter. There's a huge pile that doesn't get used, about 2/3 actually. We try to balance the line between funny, beautiful, mocking & stupid. Self-censorship is very important 3) The best pictures are always taken with consent OR without the subject knowing it therefor harrassing ppl is never a good idea. Actually, in most cases it's better to just smile & have the pic taken, cause the result will always be better, really! 4) The person in the picture ALWAYS get's the last word. If they want a pic offline, we take it offline. 5) Most vieuwed pictures are always either crowd-shots ("Am I in there?Am I in there?Am I in there?") or close-ups of girls. Very few ppl actually care to see DJ's or live-acts or deco. We ourselves don't really care about that & still take pictures of all that stuff too... "say SKA-ZIIIIIIIII"
  4. Damn, that kinda says it all... Tune in to the Atmos-frequency! Why the hell don't you post more reviews like that here??? I don't even visit Isratrance, but if there's more reviews like this out there, maybe I should?
  5. Indeed Wannes! Put tears in my eyes at the end of Boom2004

    Jaïa - Fiction

After having the pleasure of having Yannis as a guest in our house last week-end, I'm even more impressed by this album. It was a huge struggle for him to get this released (the music was already finished in 2003) & now it's sold out. In case you're wondering, sold out means "all" of the 2500 copies are gone. It's a sad thing that one of the progressive highlights of 2005 sells only 2500 pieces, no? & a nice fait-divers for all the oldskool-druggies: the guy has never-ever touched ANY drugs, not even smokies. Christ, he didn't even have a drink with us R.E.S.P.E.C.T.
  7. Easily one of the most original albums this year! No polished psy-gressive here: overal dry & glitchy yet very emotional at times! This one needs several listenings, so no full review yet...
  8. Bought it this summer as a souvenir at Wonderland: good stuff! Especially "Indika: a different perspective" & the Audiomatic RMX of Magnetrixx
  9. Good to see it's back again!! Nice to know I do bring out the good in some ppl , Moni
  10. -POTS - Creating Social Success (Tribal Vision) http://www.discogs.com/release/570070 very curious after their track on "V/A: Inner Circle"
  11. After checking their forum I read that there WILL be cheaper tickets for ppl from "less fortunate countries"? Sounds good to me, no?
  12. Agreed, but he has been playing live at nearly every festival you can imagine over those 18months Not that I'm gonna complain about that The guy REALLY knows his stuff!
  13. "& the Space Tribe catsuit goes to Satan's Fluffer !!! Coming soon, too a Dark Room near you!" To bad an innovator like Daniel Vernuft keeps using the same sounds over&over&over again the last 3years. Haven't heard the "Change of Air" album though... btw: Obviously these polls are heavily influenced by new releases like the recent Ticon-cd. If you make a poll like this right after Vibrasphere release their new (fan-fucking-tastic ,I bet) album, they would be in the top 5, where they belong instead of somewhere at the end... No critisism, just a thought
  14. **quiz-master-voice** "Oooh My Skazi, Is there no stopping this lovely candidate from Womania? Indeed Element was the correct answer!!! Now you've won this exclusive Hom-Mega-Phone! But wil you risk it all & maybe win a Limited Edition Ultra-Sexy Space Tribe 1 piece cat-suit for those special moments? The question for our bonus round is: Which of these acts has released the most full-albums? You folks at home can play too, just pick up the phone & dail + 32 604.PRO.GGY" shitgoddamn I shouldn't sit so close to my screen
  15. To even out the score I voted for my own personal fav (guess who ) Even though there are many great acts out there with only 1 album out (Gaudium, Frogacult, FREq,...) I think it takes at least 2, preferably 3 or more to earn the title of "Progressive Heavyweight of this Universe" ! Atmos, Son Kite & Ticon come very close...
  16. After several sessions this week-end we've come to the conclusion that Ticon moved al little closer to the Son Kite/Kooler-sound... Wich is not a bad thing: controlled madness, clean climaxes, fresh sounds you want to grab & feel... About "In the Dirt" sounding a little too dated: I reckon they put something like that in there too please the ppl who've supported them since the days of "...Mammothhunters" & probably cause they themselves still like to get into the drier & dirtier stuff from-time-too-time too. Anyhow: a round of applause from my panel of judges at the afterparty at my place this Sunday I personally hope it will continue to grow for the next coupple of weeks like a truely "Great Proggy Album" should... Eurovision-style "Belgium: 9 points!"
  17. don't even have the PO-cd New albums Ticon & Element have been battling for "absolute residency" on my hi-fi. So update your poll with Element (wich gets better every time you hear it) or accept my vote for Ticon.
  18. I totally agree with you Moni! But the artists won't charge a "Turkish booking fee" either, but just the same as always. The food-prices should be OK I guess? Even if they sell it at 2x or 3x the normal price (again like at R.O.P. in Morocco) it will only half of what you'd pay in Western Europe. But to be totally fair they should indeed take the less fortunate countries into account. Maybe you can send an e-mail to the organisation, clarifying your opinion?
  19. That's not cheap for sure, but Rhythms of Peace was also 100€ at the door & they didn't even have speakers the first 2 days of the fetival & only half of the line up actually played. So, if paying a little more meanis this will be professionally organised, I don't mind al thàt much. Since we already booked our airplane, we'r just gonna buy the first tickets we can here in Belgium. No use in waiting until it's 180€, if you know you're going to go there anyway... My reasons for going besides the Eclipse: Absolum - 3D Vision Andromeda - Spiral Trax Atmos - Spiral Trax Atomic Pulse - BNE Echotek - Time Stretch Hallucinogen - Twisted Lish - Com.Pact Midi Miliz/Spirallianz - G+ / Boshke Beats Phony Orphants - Iboga Protoculture - Nano Rinkadink - Alchemy Son Kite - Digital Structures S-Range - Spiral Trax / Liquid Ticon - Digital Structures Wizzy Noise - Harmonia/Exposure X-Dream - Boshke Beats / Gravity Plus DJ's Anti - Spiral Trax / ACDC Beckers - Sprout D-nox - Sprout / Plastik Park Eduardo - Neurobiotic Kristian - Phantasm / Antiworld Pena - Flow Sally Doolally - Plastik Park Shane Goby - Alchemy Stella Nutella - Sweden I seriously doubt that Boom Festival'06 will do better than this!
  20. It's Superb! Must be nothingless than mindblowing if you've never heard proper electro before, otherwise it's just pretty awesome.
  21. Element - Alteration: http://www.discogs.com/release/561418 Nearly no vocals OR no guitars, yet very good! Seems to lack some climaxes at first. Ticon - Zero Six After: http://www.discogs.com/release/548814 A definite PROGRESSION from their last masterpiece. Aero was progressive ragga/reggea-trance, this one is more Electro/breaks-influenced. Some serious bassline-innovation going on here (in my Top3 for 2005!)
  22. Thàt, my friend, is one of my all-time fav- chill-series. Good choice! Although I still prefer vol2 DJ Morpheus at his best...
  23. For now I'd like to mention: Gaudium - Nordic Nature Jaïa - Fiction Antix - TCD & ofcourse I'm looking forward to getting the new Element (AgAin, I know) & Ticon-cd's TONIGHT V/A: Tantra Trance - especially the chill-cd V/A: Avalanche of sound: vol4 V/A: Spiral Trax In 2005 I really enjoyed V/A Prooved vol2 & Bluetech 2xCD too, but that's from late last year... Most underestimated cd of 2005: InterPhaze : Move to the Groove on ZMA Apparently I spend a lot this year on getting some older cd's I wanted to have original for a long time: V/A's:Widescreen, Cosmophilia 2, Alien Airport, Ease Division Timetech-Astral Projection-Vibrasphere-Ooze...
  24. Not having heard the album at all, stuff like a Batman-psy-mix doesn't really make me want to check it out either. As if their version of Star Wars wasn't bad enough I really thought they might have matured, but apparently it's still not my cup of T(rance).

    V/A – Set:6 Evolved

OK, gave this one a coupple of spins & this is what I make of it: In the RMX-department I actually only liked FREq – Strange Attractor (Liquid Soul Remix) Really nice work, adding a new perspective by digging out the melodic part a little deeper & still not wandering to far from the original. The other 2 didn't really appeal to me. If you can't make it better or different (especially Switch) , maybe just don't touch it at all? Zen Mechanics – Environmental Porn is more FREq than FREq: nice sounds, but not very original, imo Morax – Lost In The Woods I never heard of Morax, but I'd like to! Nice powerful bass-line & unexpected twists. First standout original track. More of this please Casa Flava – Further South (Deep Mix) & Manuel Duego - Deception represent the deeper more housier side of progressive here & they definitely take the cake! Somz hints of a melody, nice rhytms & flows. What was lacking a little until now was tension & these guys know how to build a nice break! Both are excellent for Sunday afternoon progressive-floors or a Hi-Quality-Night-@-the-Club. Nyquist – Singularity (FREq Revision) DP put it well: everything is going on in the back of the track/mix? So maybe this has to be played really LOUD like X-dream? Not thàt impressive really Instead of spending their money on a nice booklet (come on: 3 pages & the same cover art AGAIN ???) Iboga prefers to continue their good tradition of adding a Bonus Track. Here it's Nasser with a track I would describe as Israeli House Music. Nice hypnotising sounds. As far as cross-over potential goes: this is looking at a very different direction indeed. But still good stuff... So in conclusion: I like it, but for very different reasons than I thought I would. Nice tracks by new names, 2 dissapointing rmx & only 1 "new" track by FREq himself, which didn't set break records with me either. But ofcourse FREq's main achievement here was obviously to compile the tracklist & in general (heavily) inspiring some of the artists featured here. Recommended for openminded ears, although pretty far from the 9/9 straight jaw-droppers I had hoped for...
