  1. i'd rather say that Deep Space 5D is floating while filteria is epic. no problem here since i like both
  2. lol@derango dimension 5 - polaris 1 (+2 to some extent) :
  3. i don't think it's about complexity. pleiadians or filteria are much more complex than koxbox, which i find rather minimalistic. there's a lot of different sounds in koxbox' music but not too much at once.
  4. it's really a wonderful track (and i had the pleasure of dancing to it yesterday (best one played at the whole festival) . thank your for that great performance goasia!). i knew it from some liveset (goasia live at ageha tokyo.. something like that) and i'm puzzled why it hasn't been released yet. maybe they want to keep that track only for live performances? i found most of their unreleased tracks better than those on the album. let's hope a new album with that material comes out soon
  5. couldn't agree more with all of the above. i don't get koxbox or shpongle either... i guess you prefer Dimension 5 to Pleiadians too on the other side dragon tales does have one of the best psy albums covers ever
  6. imho it's because people are lazy. progressive trance doesn't really have anything to do with progressive PSYtrance, what people over here are talking about when they say progressive trance.
  7. i'll go with something else then. imho scatterbrain >> other darkpsy
  8. where do scatterbrain and penta fit in there?
  9. yup, predictable. the melodies sound predictable, simple, easy to memorize and almost childish.
  10. you might want to look into what's called schranz over here. (i think dj rush ^ is a good example. others are adam bayer, chris liebing, ...) it's still rather monotonous, but fast/hard with more going on. it was quite popular a few years ago before minimal, electro and hardstyle became big.
  11. would be fine. but free bonus tracks for psynews members in exchange for a photo with yourself and your copy of the cd would also suffice
  12. Iron Sun for me. Deep Space 5D comes a close second with Harmonic Convergence, Beyond the Starts and Intastella sharing the 3rd place. imo almost all D5 tracks are similarly brilliant. the only ones that imo just aren't as good to be included in the top 5 D5 tracks () are those on the trancefix ep, limitless dimensions (gate 3 mix), bombed out and of course utopa.
  13. I'd recommend: Cosmosis - Fumbling for the Funky Frequency everything else that comes to my mind has already be mentioned...
  14. i used to think that the most complex/layered/crazy melodies in psytrance were found in the fullon genre because, well, it's called fullon as logical conclusion from that i used to think that i liked fullon the most (only knew progressive to compare)
  15. me too. first teleport then sugar rush too bad i missed BPC. i tried but just couldn't keep myself awake...
  16. still too cheesy/clubby for my taste but definitely a quality track. i like it better than most of your other regular trance tracks.
  17. after hearing jaïa at ozora i've lost interest in the new album. i didn't know any of his new stuff, and was a bit disappointed. it's decent progressive, but there was none of the magic, which the blue energy album is full of, present. actually i was a bit surprised that he didn't play mai mai or at least a remix thereof; i couldn't imagine a set of man with no name / hallucinogen without teleport / l.s.d. as last track. if you have a classic track that everyone knows and that's deep and beautiful beyond words, why not play it?
  18. exactly! there are a lot of good tracks on this cd, but as overbloody flood is the first one, they don't really stand out.
  19. i'd pronounce it yöyalka with the "ö" being this vowel and "a" being this one, but i think this one would be correct.
  20. pretty easy listening goa actually, ra or khetzal.
  21. somewhere in 2001 when i was 16 some of my friends wanted to go to a event called "psychedelic trance" (mainly because it had the word psychedelic in it, which had a certain "cool" factor back then ). i didn't want to go with them at first because it was going to be some kind of techno shit, but we went anyway. when we arrived i was the only one of my friends who actually liked the music (still goa trance), so we didn't stay long... after that it took me years to rediscover the music and then the dense, melodic sound i heard at my first party was gone
  22. it is already happening. at a recent festival they were playing mostly minimal techno (not minimal sounding progressive, real minimal techno) at the "progressive" floor and as they played a 1 hour goa trance set there all people suddenly fled leaving me dancing there alone. i overheard people say "whoa, that music is strange, let's go somewhere else". if minimal techno has more acceptance than goa trance at a psy festival then there's clearly something wrong with the scene. another indication is the constant stream of cheesy pop-vocal-fullon releases from isreal and the fact that they are indeed played at local parties...
