va - the mystery of crystal worlds
-
that's because you failed to release nova fractal (and also because if goa trance that isn't released on suntrip doesn't get too much attention) at much as it was weird to see croatia left out in the list (considering the music and it being home to the second-largest goa trance only festival in the world — correct me if i'm wrong, but afaik only connection is bigger and also exclusively goa), it's equally weird to compain about it missing. and even weirder to have a lengthy discussion about it. it should be all about the music and not on which side of an arbitrarily drawn line an artist happens to live.

i've made it until 0:42, so almost 8 seconds after the singing starts. i now demand a cookie to recompense for the suffering .

there are many channels in a modern track.

what's wrong with that? "trafo" is just an abbreviation for transformator. i think i've heard "trafo" at least 10x more often irl than the unwieldy term "transformator".

there is no tranquiliser that works within seconds (except in movies). if you try to tranquilise the gorillia you'll produce an angry and likely violent gorilla for at least a few minutes. of course it's the responsibility of the zoo and parents to prevent such incidents from happening, but even with proper precautions accidents can always happen. i find the actions of the zookeepers justified. silverbacks are notorious for being erratic violent machos (the rest of the human life</=/>animal life discussion is something we've been through in quite a few other threads).

doesn't work for me. it displays many different layers of translucent windows that are blocking each other and clicking on any link or "X" button just makes some of the windows jump back and forth.

i've seen california sunshine, but not this track (imho the one closes to normal trance and one of their best, even though it sounds dated) this one is also pretty close to normal trance. in the other direction john 00 fleming has numerous tracks that blur the boundaries. the same is true for christopher lawrence, but on the psy side it sounds more like progressive than goa.

Why psytrance doesnt attract a bigger audience?
Padmapani replied to MrAnarchy's topic in General Psytrance
the stupid part wasn't necessarily ment to be in context with the music. after all, as you say, intelligence doesn't determine taste, nor is it the other way round. it was meant to say that quality or taste of music isn't the only thing, where people won't listen to you, even when you're an expert in the area and can conclusively prove that your position would work while theirs (which is for instance founded wholly on some piece they've read in the worst kind of tabloid) wouldn't. besides, last week almost 50% of the voters in my country voted for a neo-nazi (who is being pretty much as open about that as you can under the stict prohibition of nazi symbols here). if that doesn't prove the brains they have been given are fundamentally wasted on a huge amount of people, then i don't know what does. -
about all those spelling/grammar things: i literally could care less what really gets me angry is when people translate words (often for technical or chemical things) from english into german and don't drop the "e" at the end. in english many words have silent "e"s at the end, which is never found in german. such terms always lose the "e" because it would be pronounced in german. for instance "butane" becomes "butan", and it drives me mad when people say "butanEEEEh". it's the "irrationally angry" thread. not the "perfectly rationally and justifiedly angry" thread even worse than the whistling are guys with the "football horn" (or whatever that's called), though they're rare nowadays and have always been rather are at psy events. they most of the time specialize in being louder than the music during climaxes.

Padmapani replied to MrAnarchy's topic in General Psytrance
the track does everything it's supposed to do. it has a powerful "drop", has a 4/4 kickdrum in the right bpm range for most people and a catchy melody. i haven't heard it for at least a year even just reading the title of your youtube video presses some sort of play-button in my brain. that's the sort of music the majority of people like. martin garrix is an amateur. if you watch videos of him explaining his production he doesn't really seem to know what he's doing, he almost exclusively uses samples from commercial sample cds, but for this one track everything comes together nicely and he can make music with a polished sound. that's enough — for his purposes anyway. neither do i, nor do i ever want to see it happen at a psy festival. "edm" = "electronic dance music" has been used for decades as an umbrella term for all kinds of danceable electronic music, including psy. i wouldn't give the latest pop-house variant the honor of labeling it a new name (it isn't that different from the pop-house music ten years ago), much less with a name that represents all of electronic music. it's just a marketing gimmick. i used to get angry about the same thing too some time ago, but let's face it: people are tasteless and incredibly stupid (even more so when in large groups or on alcohol (also other substances to some degree)), but you cannot give them a better taste or make them more intelligent. your choices are either getting frustrated and feeling angry because of them, or thinking "they want to eat shit, let them eat shit!". of course that won't get you good music at festivals, but in the rare moments when you do you'll be pleasantly surprised as opposed to being upset when the music is shit (which is most of the time) -

afaik the first one was called psychedelic sparks (from 2001) -
if i don't have to move i'd just stay. but if i had to go to another country it'd be switzerland. they have a very similar language, culture and even landscape plus a higher standard of living and even less corruption and bureaucracy. i don't see any disadvantage to living there as compared to here. other than that most countries in europe would be nice. a good standard of living coupled with a good health and social system, a comparatively high level of freedom and a less conservative populace than in most other places make me tolerate the bad weather. my choices here would be england, hungary (given they manage to get rid of orbán), spain or france. if it has to be outside europe, i'd definitely go for a nice tropical climate (preferably in a place where the mentality isn't as stressful as back home), but an acceptable medical system is a must. that leaves me with thailand, sri lanka or malaysia. probably also nothern australia...

what about artists like "testicle crisis" "spiritual van halen" "jesus christ" and "shpungl"? all from this compilation

I want to work with Simon Posford, MWNN, IM ETC!
Padmapani replied to NHJO__HYENNRO's topic in Off Topic
it was supposed to mean that we maybe shouldn't look for separate meansing for both parts of the name. of course there can only be one nhjo hyennro! no one could successfully imitate him if they tried. :-) maybe radi only comes out when you wear the right kind of leggings. -

Padmapani replied to NHJO__HYENNRO's topic in Off Topic
maybe we're supposed to consider nhjo hyennro as one entity instead of two. then if we use an anagram solver we get "johnny heron". now the question is: who is johnny heron from arizona? or is it "jenny h. honor"? the people? the "ing" is just a generic place ending in that area. many villages around fucking have similar names: petting for example -
Which VST do you use for GATE?
Padmapani replied to Arronax's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
cableguys' volume shaper might be worth a look if tantra is too demanding. it doesn't have an fx section like that, but is a versatile gate effect nonetheless. -
sounds familiar, but i have no idea. i think it sounds like progressive from around the year 2000 (probably something from nothern germany. feuerhake or klangstrahler project maybe?) rather than early 90s goa trance. maybe you'll have more success in this direction?

the delta and x-dream were darker than any darkpsy ever was.

How old were you when you started listening to goa/psytrance?
Padmapani replied to XoArK's topic in General Psytrance
sick of it? what are you talking about? some of us have been listening to goa trance for decades with no signs that we would ever get sick of it -
because if you take away the fast bpm and horror from psycore you just end up with darkpsy. if you take away only the horror (and any sort of darkness) while leaving the high bpm you end up with hitech.

there have been experiments for a few days, where these con-artists, who claim to neither eat, drink or excrete anything, show diminishing health and mysteriously emptying bladders while they take a bath... i don't think that having a bullshit believe due to religion makes it any better.

thanks. i'm pretty sure it was the marino s-pace mix i had in mind.
