  1. yes, i did (and i turned up the volume a bit when reading your comment just now), but it has that chilled out dubby vibe about it, you know . i could dance to it, but i could also chill on the sofa and sip a cool drink. thanks, and thanks for the recommendation. this is it chilling on the sofa is not an option for this kind of music and apparently at least one other track from the release is equally good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bv-rf0CNG9U edit: they're really interesting guys. i explored some of their other stuff (lots of electro and a bit commercial sounding hard trance), and then i stumble upon this gem: mechanical, raw, hard, and acid!
  2. if this is just a joke than 50% of im's output of the last decade or so is a joke. i don't see how it is much worse than cities of the future.
  3. it wasn't quite as bad when i saw them in 2009. mind you, the age of love remix and arabian knights on mescaline were the best tracks they played (so yeah, it was pretty bad), but at least there was neither excessive singing nor excessive breaks like in the set by astrix who played before them.
  4. we have psydeva - deep existance (2015) with this nice melody (2:03:35) but it seems oddly familiar hux flux - tarantula (2015) https://youtu.be/P5qDeBFXBaU?t=2m6s is it from here? or is it even older? we hear the same thing in cabeiri - the 5th element (2012) https://youtu.be/cXiAE2jyeaU?t=9m21s now does anyone of you know if this is the original or if they all cite an even older melody?
  5. for me: the glitches are the #1. lack of any kind of atmosphere in most productions is #2 (i know there are notable exceptions). but the speed also plays a part, even though i like other high bpm music; the 1/16 bass sounds needlessly rushed (some of the effects also do) at 180bpm+. there's a (most likely individually very different) transition from having room to breathe in a track to having it tightly packed to having the elements being arranged so dense in time that it all blends together into a misshapen mush, making the whole thing seem like a childish speed contest to me. so if you give me glitch-free, atmospheric, off-bass darkpsy i'll probably dance for hours. even if it's at 190
  6. IPA was made for such discussions. well not exactly, but it's the ultimate tool to make everyone understand what you mean (given they know a little bit of ipa).
  7. i don't think that the videos are supplanting discussion. before youtube links we would post "artist name - title", we now post a video to save the readers the time to look it up. the problem is that it seems much more lazy and stupid to just post artist and track title without any kind of comment rather than posting a youtube video without any kind of comment, so the latter occurs way too often
  8. or maybe my definitions are a bit outdated? this and this is what i'd call night fullon, but i guess the sound from the first example has merged into twilight and the latter has pretty much disappeared.... i agree that journey into other spaces most of the tracks have a similar vibe (making remembering them distincly difficult), cosmic experience is quite a bit better in that respect.
  9. aes dana: ɛːs daːnaː ultimae: ultɪmɛː schlabbaduerst: ʃlabatʊa̯st
  10. it's good, but i find it rather laid back, a bit like some early 00s atmos tracks
  11. i think you'd like zodiac the most. musica divinorum is quite good too (if only for time simulation) but generally a bit weirder/more minimalistic than zodiac. now i'm not sure if you'd like more than 2-3 tracks of the talamasca and electric universe albums, when you call 'journeys into outer space night-fullon . i never saw that album as night or morning, just as fullon. but if being a morning album (as opposed to just good melodic fullon that's neither dark nor cheesy) is mandatory, strike out these two and insert alternative control - alt+ctrl instead. it might be borderline cheesy sometimes, but not anywhere near electro sun or similar. or even better but a bit less morning: optokoppler - replugged. imho, there's no better morning fullon album than protoculture - refractions, so if you know that one already you'll have to compromose, either in the music being not quite as good or the albums being not purely morning
  12. you already know many the good ones, so i don't know if you didn't know my recommendations or listened to and disliked them check out: psydrop - fantasy seeds fatali - moments silicon sound - pure analog electric universe - cosmic experience the old stuff from talamasca (the new albums are cheesy, but anything up to zodiac is quite good) and the last three albums by cosmosis. artists that are quite different in style, but still fit your description are: cosmo circle or braincell
  13. that's a really nice one. at some points it's a bit too darkpsy for my taste, but with that kind of storytelling that doesn't matter at all. do you know if it's still available for download somwhere?
  14. now this is incredibly cheesy and horribly un-psy-like, with the women in bikinis an the like, but imho the cover for the first installment in the series is ever cheaper and more pointless.
  15. ten years? this is already happening. many of us (me included) have fond memories of the good old 2003/2004 fullon sound though i think it's not about being "conservative" at all. some like sound that by chance is out of fashion at the time. fashion is cyclic so if you stay true to your preferences you'll be called "conservative" now but "cutting edge" in a few years .
  16. the guide is coming together nicely. this time i only have a few suggestions for improving grammar i'd substitute "diminutive" with "contraction". "kitten" would be the diminutive of "cat". "psytrance" is not "little psychedelic trance" or something umm... what? "when with it"?. also i'd not use "the" in front of nitzhogoa (or nitzhonot for that matter).
  17. early protoculture sure was special. but it's not only about the albums, the compilation tracks were at least equally good.
  18. i find it interesting that you specifically mention psilocybian and 1200 mics. they're completely different in style. but i guess you will definitely find something you like on this compilation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgmTtq2_s28
  19. really we already had a date? i thought we would get a mail, when they knew more? anyway, i didn't get anything up to now.
  20. joof releases some excellent stuff from time to time. this is definitely not an example of that.
  21. the first track is aquablue. bit it's pitched down somewhat.
  22. interesting at least. i'd like to see it happen and i suspect it's unlikely that we'll not see it in our lifetimes. though probably with a totally different kind of music agreed 100%. may i remind you that the alien jesus album was released 5 years ago already if all darkpsy was like that, i'd go to parties every weekend and not twice a year.
  23. judging by those sesto sento tracks, i think you might like alien jesus and electro sun.
  24. it's actually a great achievement to make it sound that good without any eq
