i guess i'm not the only one of those who answered, who (sadly) doesn't actually see the colours, but rather associates colours to the sounds "in the mind's eye". i'm not even sure if feeling the shapes of the music actually counts as synaesthesia. i mean everyone has a sort of spatial perception of music and psychedelic trance is supposed to be psychedelic, so feeling high-passed saw leads bounce off the inside of your skull and supersaw-like sounds make flat surfaces in your head should be nothing out of the ordinary, right? anyway, a psychologist friend once told me that synaestesia is sort of a continuum rather than a condition you have or don't have. apparently not a lot of us fall on the extreme "staight" end of that continuum

sure. but when you say that biocandy is green, i'll just assume that you're mixing the colours up and actually mean it's red
-
dude, your colours are completely wrong people can fly is a soft red and blue lsd is like a darker cyan with yellow sprinkles intelligent machine is a reddish dark brown biocandy is between dark red and dark purple with some orange bits enlightened evolution is a pastel yellow and vimana is a greyish dark green (like a lot of etnica) with a gritty texture and some cyan and yellow bits every now and then. but all in all, i rather associate shapes with sounds than colours, so i might say that people can fly is more yellow in another situation, but for biocandy, lsd and vimana i'm dead sure tracks with striking colours are: sight of the sages is a very intense yellow exit eternity is a beautiful emerald green caprica is cyan iron sun is red elie is yellow and turquoise

Korg MS 20 mini Goa Sequence
Padmapani replied to Aleks's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
indeed sounds nice. i guess i'll have to look into the ms20 filter of diva a little bit more. -
these things aren't exclusive. plastic, vimana, chaos, bali ... yep. we've had some great darker albums lately, now i'm looking forward to the upcoming ra album

what suprised me most at fanatics was coagoa. i rever really heard of him before, but his set was quite good. cosmic dimension, skarma and morphic resonance also are very promosing. nova fractal however is kinda special. it's not that he is better than the other artists, but he combines goa trance nicely with what's good about fullon. it's the perfect introduction of fullon-heads to goa. i've tested that with my friends and got good results. if nova fractal were to play at peaktime at big festivals there'd probably be no obstacle to goa trance becoming as popular a fullon was a few years ago (but i'm not sure if that's even desirable). exactly. there are quite a few artists that consistently make good music, but not a lot who consistently make better music . i'm looking forward to the first full length album here. do you know something i don't? what about antares? i haven't heard anything from him since the release of exodus.

indeed, but that it's in october makes me say: there's absolutely no time . if it were one or two weeks earlier i'd be there for sure.

Which Goa/NeoGoa artists have you seen live?

time for an update -
yeah, exactly. nice.

i know. i was making fun of the silly name. that's as if some psy artist would name himself "electro house" or something...
-
after educating myself (listening to parts of the tracks mentioned; why have you decided to torture us by opening this thread ormion?), i have to say that i find happy to be less awful (the word better does not work in this context) than bieber. gangnam style surely is the worst psy track, even worse than the electro sun album

it was a great festival. it really took some getting used to to have goa trance playing all the time. there was no need to run to the stage as soon as a good track comes on in fear of that track being only good one for hours or even days . dancing to hours of goa trance at full power together with the other freaks on a big soundsystem also is a completely different experience than homelistening and surely shows you how the term "psychedelic trance" was conceived in the 90s. but the music was just one part of the festival and there was indeed a special vibe going on unlike anything i've experienced in the last years. and it was nice finally meeting some psynewsers in real life. btw, where is everyone? still recovering? those links don't work for me. btw: D5 btw2: Vimana

that's a nice one. more like a spaceship taking off if you let your mind wander . i can think of a few applications for that sample... i take it the samples we share here are CC0? sadly, due to my very limited equipment, my dishwasher was recorded with my macbook's internal microphone . what i really miss is the dishwasher from my last apartment. that one made some incredible techno percussion from time to time

Psynews meeting on the Balkan Goa Gathering? :)

a best description i've read about how to dance to goa (like everyone else - and i'm doing it too) was: stomp into the ground with your left foot for x times, then stomp into the ground with your right foot for x times and repeat yup. just stand around for a few minutes and the music will do the rest. it happens automatically (if the music is good which it will be in this case). -

for the artists that can only come one day it's logical, but sacrificing party experience for better promotion opportunities... that's something new and ,well, fuck that. the best promotion has always been the reports of people who were there... comeon filteria or nova fractal just sound perfect at full power night time and artifact303 would make for a perfect transition from the first shimmers on the horizon to sunrise... i hope, i'll be hearing some artifact303, power source, skarma, crossing mind and filteria in the dj sets then... after all it's goa all the way through -

timetable: wtf has happened here??? any reason why almost all of the headliners aren't playing in the good spots, but rather around 7:00-13:00?
