festivals are the only situations where i can eat breakfast before 1pm. but also the only places where i'll be content without having a warm meal in a whole day...

17/26. could be worse. but tbh, when i started going to festivals it was 7/26, though not necessarily the same ones...

Psynews meeting on the Balkan Goa Gathering? :)
Padmapani replied to Anoebis's topic in General Psytrance

I'm going to one direction / what was your first concert experience?
Padmapani replied to technosomy's topic in Off Topic
my parents took me to see collosseum when i was 10 or so. i liked it what's one direction? edit: youtube answered my question. i'm sorry for you, but, well, at least it's not justin bieber -
that's really strange. artifact303 is something that's universally liked in my circle of friends. even the fullon-head that has asked me to turn off oldschool goa multiple times thinks it's good music. the only thing i can think of is that the melodies are sometimes a bit trancier (which i like) and more "commercial" (still miles away from the border when that becomes a bad thing) sounding than usual... maybe that's also why the remixe between artifact303 and e-mantra turn out to be so great with the subtle atmosphere of e-mantra and the memorable melodic content from artifact303

you can make many things look great under a microscope with the right postprocessing: dimethyltryptamine: algae: bird's testicles: maggots:

the drug samples of course what? have you considered going to a therapist for that?

Psynews meeting on the Balkan Goa Gathering? :)
Padmapani replied to Anoebis's topic in General Psytrance
i'd place the probability of me going there at around 70% right now, but rising by one percent every time i think of the lineup -
thanks for the reminder. i've never really liked trancelestial psychobabas, even though it apparently is considered the best elysium track (at least it's the most well known one) (subconsciousness is much better )
-
nice, thanks for sharing. mechanical banging techno, just how i like it
-
agreed. i feel the same about m-run, but portamento is quite good and artha is a genius just though of another one. toï doï, i just don't get that music. i used to think the same. when sky input came out (and i was in search of good melodic music which was scarce at the time), i thought it was crap and would rather listen to some standard morning fullon instead it has taken a lot of time, but i've since discovered the genius of his music

no way. if there's one etnica that that absolutely sucks, then it's party droid. just listen to the irritating melody at 7:00. sounds like a broken party horn and the melody is completely pointless. for suntrip artists i never liked radical distortion. crossing mind is also at best pretty average apart from cyclone in your heart, hydrophobic visions and not even a handful others. e-mantra on the other hand is something i've fallen in love with at the first listen edit: oh, yes: total eclipse with very few exceptions.

apparently. i haven't seen a phototropic party at goabase at all lately (and i'd also classify myself as a local freak )

What is the worst goa/psy album you've ever listened to?
Padmapani replied to Ormion's topic in General Psytrance
i just skipped through that one. and indeed it's insanely bad and cheesy, i might even have to change my opinion and nominate alien jesus as the second worst album. what amazed me is that i recognise several of the tracks from "lower than ever" from parties... perplex - reunion is should receive a honorable mention in this thread, but it's not on the same level as these two. -

i was just gonna post this one. nothing comes close (even though many try). -
the sad thing is that we're not far off

Fantastic tracks ruined by mastering/mixing.
Padmapani replied to Penzoline's topic in General Psytrance
absolutely. colin really makes things shine, the only exception imho is artha with those piercing highs. -
All Facets of trance according to me (2007 version!)
Padmapani replied to Anoebis's topic in Psynews.ORG
these two have absolutely nothing in common. i'd understand it if you were playing pharaom's nanosurgery, but mindsphere... -

the only time i thought that tim's mastering wasn't as good as i liked is the climax of the original version of time current at around 3:41. everything has about same perceived loudness here, so it's not as intense as it could be, but that might also be a mix decision... hunab ku is much better now in the remastered version, but the sound quality is still not near where it should be for such an album. probably the mixes of the original files were far from ideal. another one that sounds awful now but could be great with better mixing/mastering is trypticon - the 7th portal. -
midian sounds good. overbloody flood imho not so much.
