  1. i suppose you know that "goa" is synonymous with all of psytrance in the german language area? the only real goa most people i met who confess to listening to goa know is hallucinogen and astral.
  2. i like it. solid and intense acid techno (like a lot of the smitten stuff)
  3. juding by their recent output, they can. but the question is if they want to... this could be great or could be a disaster. i hope they decide to do these classics justice
  4. don't forget that perception of time speeds up as you get older. so if you've lived a third of your (likely) years, you're already past half of your subjective time.
  5. no need for thanks. your spot on the list is well-deserved.
  6. after a quick skipping through the tracks on youtube, this really sounds like quite decent fullon to me. not groundbreaking, but it has everything fullon should have and none of the annoyances that plague psytrance in the last few years. so while it doesn't (try to) capture a bit of goa vibe into the fullon framework like cosmosis did really well with his last album, it's still something i could dance to for hours .
  7. of course it's all goa trance. i still differentiate because i think the overall sound has changed with newschool goa incorporating many elements of post-2000-psytrance. there are also new releases i'd rather label oldschool than newschool, because they stick to the original vibe/template. anjuna or zion604 put out mostly "oldschool" sound while suntrip and cronomi are more on the newschool side of things. still, in my music library everything is just "goa" it's the same here. that's also a reason why i use the newschool term as often as possible. "oldschool" sounds like it's music for the old people from back in the day, while "newschool" sounds fresh and exciting
  8. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0mxMZp1ocQ 2:53. so beautiful, but rarely mentioned.
  9. sounds nice. i wouldn't be surprised if 3:00 or 24:00 were released on some suntrip comp. some tracks by e-mantra, artifac303, nova fractal, goasia or artha have similarly fullon-y basses. just because it's been overused (and perverted by using it as bass as well as a lead sound) doesn't mean it cannot sound good if done right. especially the one at 3:00 has a pretty subdued bass and leaves a room for melodies. imho it sounds a lot more like goa than modern fullon. it's also a pleasant surprise that they don't go into the same, shitty (progressive-minimal-electro-dubstep-crossover) direction as almost every other (former) fullon arist.
  10. +2 with every new piece of info, this compilation looks even better then before
  11. arrakis really is a timeless classic. certainly among the very best dnb tracks. these trancy tracks from back in the day also shouldn't miss in this thread:
  12. isn't there always a bit of maia in his live versions of lunar civilization?
  13. Asura - Elie (in shitty youtube-camera-at-party quality ).
  14. looks great. i cannot wait i've been searching for that track since i saw that video of one of anoebis' dj sets.
  15. my dreams are too weird and incoherent to have consistent music playing. on the rare occasion when i remember a dream and even rarer occasion that it actually has music, it's mostly a sort of synaesthetic wonderland. on the other hand, when falling asleep, in this pecular in-between state, my brain often plays original and complete goa tracks. too bad i cannot just hit the record button...
  16. you could check out digital blonde's syntology album. that's the guy fleming collaborates with in 00.db. it's trance and not psy, but some tracks have a goa-ish vibe to them.
