  1. umm... yeah right. if his output from the last years can be called fullon, then i expect "progressive" to mean minimal techno in this case. yahel, y u no make another atmosphere.
  2. fullon bass + goa melodies is better than fullon bass + fullon cheese. in a time when there's next to no good fullon coming out, that's imho still a good thing, even though i'd of course rather have a pure goa album.
  3. nice mix for sure. i don't know a lot of those pre-1995 tracks, but the first one is third eye - siddhaloka.
  4. "amen is crap" is the internet equivalent to "i'm sorry, i can't agree with you on that one. i do enjoy their other albums more" irl. does the internet lack politeness or is it just more honest? you decide. btw, amen is a great album, just as good as the older ap stuff. still i don't see any similarity between amen and the tracks in the first post except for the bass patch in the second vid maybe.
  5. don't worry about that. i'd vote for your proposal seriously, we're from all over the place, probably with larger concentrations around belgium and around the balkans. in all honesty i'm not going to drive all the way up to belgium for a single-night party. a week long festival is something completely different, but i don't see a psynews festival emerging any time soon so, i think there are times when we're not spread out as far and that's festival season. maybe a pre-party to one of the more goa heavy festivals (afaik that's lost theory and sun; i even think they're at the same time the coming year) would be an option? incidentally the place where most people had to pass through would again be vienna (yes, i am kidding but there is some truth to that )
  6. not yet. it's only ever for a few minutes, so it would probably take weeks of dropouts to make up for the time i'd spend waiting in the queue of the service line
  7. @balance music i'm not complaining, just sharing my impression and i wasn't being entirely serious either. agreed. . that's a very funny mental image you have just created in my head. as absurd as it may sound, it's not unheard of in more commercial edm genres to add fake crowd cheering to tracks, but their intention presumably rather is to make a real crowd go along with it that create a live atmosphere for the home listener.
  8. "psytrance" is a diffucult subgenre to define. probably because it's everything that no other label can be stuck to and because there's sort of a crossover with every other psy subgenre. so we'll probably often disagree what's pure psytrance and what's not. imho hux flux - cryptic crunch and logic bomb - headware are still the prime examples here. of course there's also the defining album with x-dream's radio, the odd tune from cosmosis (mainly on intergalactic), mwnn (interstate highway), classics like dirty 80s, bionic bong (the originals), haldolium's pi symptom, etc.., but i guess most of us know these already. so here's some newer, lesser known stuff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPPNrQbTmSA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rI9V1R9ZdbY
  9. alright, but it does sound a bit fake when the crowd is cheering while the people on the vid are dancing instead of making the usual cheering gestures, especially in parts of the track where you'd usually see people dancing instead.
  10. i have the akg701k and they're great. very clear sound and the huge soundstage is amazing. they're also useful for producing making a proper mixdown without decent monitors has become a whole lot easier since i have them. the headband for me isn't uncomfortable at all. after a few minutes i usually forget i have them on and i have many times been surprised to hit the cans with my hand when i tried to scratch my head. the only downsides i can see are that the highs are a bit too loud for my taste and that the bass sounds "dry", which is good for analytical listening but when listening for pleasure it sounds a bit less powerful and instead more "precise". still, for the money i didn't find anything better in my city and i did try lots of headphones. if you decide to go for them then be sure to try a few headphone amps too, which one you choose makes a huge difference with the akg701k's. i highly reccomend going to a shop with a good diversity of quality headphones and try them all out with a good selection of your music. and don't go too late in the day; i spent 3 hours there until i had decided which cans and amp i'd take
  11. yes, maybe. i got internet and tv (which i hardly use) for 25 iirc. it's very strange. it dropped out for 2mins twice in the last hour for me. i'm starting to think that they don't like me and do it on purpose . after all it took them two months of calling every few days to get me a contract and cable modem plus additional 2 weeks to activate the cable for my storey....
  12. this thread is just as confusing as that mic.
  13. definitely. sometimes there's a bit too much singing for my taste, but the rest is innovative, relaxing, mysterious but still intense and psychedelic psydub. and all that with excellent production quality. my favourite is "to the other side of fractal phase space". that one imho is a masterpiece that even ott can learn something from. the groovy beat massages you while you sit on the couch while the interplay of melodies and the fx tickle your synapses and the floating bluish-purple vibe sucks you right in.
  14. thanks for this thread. i hand't noticed the album until now and it indeed seems to be the rare island of quality psytrance that rises above the sea of unimaginative me-too music.
  15. most of my "unknown" favourites are already pretty well known here on the forum the only one i can think of is aquasphere - aquasphere. a nice dreamy track that for me is the perfect mix between progressive and goa.
  16. of course there's ovnimoon's trancemutation of the mind. techyon - ng-101 isn't bad either, but otherwise i haven't made any discoveries worth mentioning yet. a new lyctum you say... that's something to check out.
  17. there is, soundcloud says "24/10/2014"
  18. interesting. that's a lot of functionality for just one little box. and some of that is impossible or at least cumbersome to do with most pieces of software.
  19. radi ozora? this is quality psytrance as always. but no download? anyway, thanks for sharing. 24/10/2014? ok i can believe that music from the future can sound like that
  20. nice setup. i'm sure you're having a lot of fun with it what does the maths module do?
  21. maybe also shulman or globular? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oti_egSo10s but then again globular can be cheesy in the same way as ott. you won't mind if you're like me and find indian flavoured cheesyness less cheesy than european cheesyness on the other hand i find shpongle way more cheesy than ott.
