i think it's about 19€/month. but the shitty provider has issues with losing connection about twice a day for 5-10 minutes.

going for a holiday oct 2014...with a chance to maybe meet some of you
Padmapani replied to technosomy's topic in Off Topic
the garden i have access to could be big enough for the most active psynewsers, but the neighbours could pose a problem -
contrary to many others here, i didn't fall in love with goa trance at first sight (or sound rather). it was more of a gradual transition with me listening to lots of different tracks from time to time (and no complete albums), but if i really had to choose one track it'd be AP - Let There Be Light.

well - and this obviously has nothing to do with the place i live in and wanting to avoid travelling far - austria is right in the middle of europe, isn't it? -
that alone is enough for not using randi againin an argument. tsoukalos as proof for aliens... no worries mate i'm not gonna quite psynews because of a discussion like this one i believe in bubblegum jesus with all my heart, but the pic doesn't show

it's also called pseudo-telepathy . but yes it's interesting. i wish i had the mathematical background to really understand what's happing the papers wikipedia is referencing. quantum mechanics is weird and quantum computing is likewise. of course telephathy should be investigated scientifically, if it hasn't already been tested exhaustively. exactly for the reasons you're giving. besides it would be an extremely interesting phenomenon if it exists. actually i was just pointing out that i find the trend to put "quantum" into the names for some alternative practices silly. i just recently received a brochure from some local education centre and the amount of nonsense in the descriptions therein for multiple of the many "quantum-something" courses were hilarious
-
no. this is science, but it has nothing to do with telepathy. it's an abstraction/thought experiement and the "alice" and "bob" given in the example cannot be people. if you only like responses that agree with you, then you should discuss that specific topic in private with someone why shares your views and not take it to a public forum, where people with other opinions can read what you are writing. it is exactly the opposite. it was people who used logic, reason, critical thinking and properly executed experiments, that proved that the earth was orbiting the sun, and not the naive people that believed everything they heard or read somewhere. if telepathical skills are proven, then why has none of these telephaths yet claimed james randi's prize of one million dollars yet? the challenge is on since 1964, but yet no one has ever succeded. show us the proof. there's no way nature wouldn't publish a proof for telepathy. if you think that you know better what science is than someone who is actually doing scientific work, then believe what you want to believe...

no it doesn't. quantum mechanics describes the properties of elementary particles. research topics from that field are elucidating the electron distribution in molecules, the structure and functionality of proteins, the mechanisms of different chemical reactions, basically the whole field of computational chemistry relies on quantum mechanics. it is of course also widely used in physics, especially particle physics, but i'm no physicist, so iirc you better ask rotwang about that. still, while quantum mechanics has brought us innovations like the laser, mr-imaging and the scanning tunneling microsope it has absolutely nothing to do with telepathy! the fact that "quantum" has recently appeared as a buzzword for various esoteric bullshit (such as "quantum healing through laying on hands") changes nothing about that. in fact this is only marketing (possibly because "quantum" sounds mysterious to most people) and those practices or that "research" has nothing to do with real quantum mechanics and neither with science.

Name The Old School Downtempo/Ambient Track - Round 12
Padmapani replied to Ormion's topic in General Psytrance
edit: so that makes 23 points if i counted correctly. -
wait, what? how could i miss that. cygnus x is great, but cygnus x remixed by mwnn

i find it funny that my preferences are pretty much the same as for daze. the best tracks are in the beginning and the end. the opener can only be compared to filtertraces. then comes the most epic track of the album - and my favourite overall, just like the big blue - dog days bliss. then it continues solidly with food demons and life never sleeps until it reaches the low point with lost in the wild, which is still a good track, but doesn't agree with me as much as the others. on daze i had the same relationship with infinite regression at first (which i've since learned to love). with 36th february there follows another good full power track, which is followed by the lights of shibuya - the earthrise of this album with a bit less energy and "lighter" melodies. the journey is complete with the more subdued (for filteria-standards) and more harmonious night@12pm. but it doesn't stop there and we get a new and refreshed version of one of my all time filteria tracks all in all lost in the wild is a captivating and highly psychedelic journey that is best enjoyed in one piece. it is not something you have running in the background, but rather music that demands your complete attention, even more so than the previous albums. imho the KOB-style weirdness present in this album does take away from the "pleasant" smoothness which in harmony with the power of filteria's melodies characterised daze of our lives.for now daze is the best filteria album for me, still lost in the wild is an excellent album that never gets boring and has a lot of replay value (filteria's music always gets better with repeated listening for me, maybe this one will replace daze as #1 in the future )

i'm not sure if that can be a factor here. product safety and counterfeiting aren't that big an issue for music. but more importantly goa trance isn't sold in any retail shop. most of us have to shop online in another member state if we want to buy the cd. actually these conditions should favour digital sales instead of physical media in our case, digital downloads are also offered on bigger, more reputable webshops than the cds, which you have to buy from the labels directly or from specialised psy-shops.

my favourite by them - besides the legendary animals - is animal people http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-j3jQVWnwQ
-
why? it's one of the classic trance remixes by mwnn und distance to goa 4 isn't that obscure a compilation.
-
i expect to fail totally, but here it is: edit: and i did! 14 points is what you get for playing when you're exhausted and in dire need of sleep
-
edit: that's 55 if i counted correctly? bah for #26, #28 and especially getting the artist name of #42 wrong, i should have known better
-
welcome. i don't think that this thread is anywhere near complete. the list is of course influenced by my own taste and not in any way complete. for instance i missed what technosomy recommended in the next post, avalon - distant futures, and there's plenty more. but it's a start
-
in future, tibet will be moon-tibet? sorry, i have no idea.
-
no, we'll be at least 4. but chances are i'll be late again so here it goes: edit: that's 28 if i counted correctly. but there were so many more easy ones i should have guessed! but i think you've got #22 titled wrong. i just looked it up and discogs agrees with me.

this really turned out to be a nice one. enjoyed fiddling around with the melodies as much as listening to the final result. and i'm really looking forward to the remix album. there's going to be some all-time favourites of mine on there
