Astral Projection live in Athens last night
Padmapani replied to Trunksan's topic in General Psytrance
they only do, if they indeed take out their killer tracks instead of playing their crappy new stuff plus some pathetic, watered down fullon remixes of their classics. i have heard them twice, the first time was completely out of this world, the second time was utter crap. -
Classic tracks that you think are nothing special
Padmapani replied to Manuser's topic in General Psytrance
MFG. Total Eclipse. UX. Prana. GNOTR. all of these artists have just a few good tracks (on mars, welcome to the edge, waiting for a new life, master of the universe, indigo, conflict, ring of fire) and the rest is only average at best. also Process. there's not even a single track from them i like. agreed. kabalah imho definitely is one of their weaker tracks. -
because it took you six and a half minutes to share your tip about protecting earphone cables from breaking with the people?
-
no, i didn't. but i will look into it
-
i hope nothing we psynewsers don't get either. think of us poor facebook refuseniks, who do value a little bit of privacy with their online behaviour

i'd roughly rank my top x-dream tracks like this: 1. psychomachine 2. thorazin 3. we created our own happiness 4. out here we are stoned remix 5. panic in paradise 6. psycho activity they were just much better at the heavy psytek stuff than at goa (which is still quite good), so even for me their best goa track only takes place #3.
-
my absolute favourite is this remix: the melody, the intensity, the acid, ... otherwise waiting for a new life and of course free lemonade.
-
one of my favourite progressive artists with lots of great tracks, but none of them beat dream creator.

why has no one mentioned xoco? it's not quite up there with overbloody flood and crystal, but still cannot be missing in this thread. apart from that i have nothing to add; i'd only repeat the praises already sung by others

Goa Trance artists who do not take drugs.

amt isn't new. it has been around since the 60s and is not any more dangerous than mdma. 5-meo-amt is a wholly different story though. i also wouldn't group the DOx type compounds, which can be more problematic than lsd, especially when expecting lsd together with the NBOMe's. the latter have lead some deaths and much more unpleasant after- or longterm-effects. what is interesting about the NBOMe's is that they're not active orally. so if you don't know for sure if it's lsd or a NBOMe you're getting, you can put them into a capsule and swallow that; if there's lsd on the blotter you will feel the effects, if it's a NBOMe you'll feel nothing. of course this sadly does not help with 5-meo-amt or a DOx. (amt needs a way higher dose anyway, so it wouldn't work on a blotter paper at all). -
quite possible. i only discovered haldolium by having mixtapes with pi symptom on the tracklist. i had never heard from them before. . still it's much more popular than anything else planet b.e.n.. and rightfully so imho absolutely right. i forgot that one. two-hit-wonder then? no way, everything from hux flux is great

radi, please tell me that you were stoned completely out of your mind when you recorded the video

atmosphere! but i can think of some more examples (maybe some of these have had success otherwise, but then it's unknown to me) : pharacognescia - pharatropic nemesis - snake dance passenger - sundance the secret - pagan dance soluna - dancing spirit psychonauts - shadows of the moon satori - razor sonic fusion - tribal warrior children of the doc - martian civilization der stern von afrika - lumbumbashi haldolium - pi symptom witchcraft - whale (well, there's magic frequencies too, but that's it) arguably also planet b.e.n. - questionmark

first droning bassline trance track EVER?
Padmapani replied to Lemmiwinks's topic in General Psytrance
kbbb is much older than psytrance. or even this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcKhdkmC0p4 and i didn't even look very much into it. -
Goa Trance artists who do not take drugs.
Padmapani replied to ollylovesgoa's topic in General Psytrance
you surely mean alcohol. it's the most damaging drug to the brain and body, that you'll run into regularly in the psy scene. cannabis, lsd or mushrooms may be unsettling to the psyche (even intensely so in susceptible individuals), but they're certainly not harmful to the brain and body. even mdma, according to recent studies, is only lightly damaging to the body and most likely not damaging to the brain with reasonable doses and a responsible usage pattern (<150mg per night and not more often than once every two months). even opiates, although extremely addictive, are not at all harmful for the brain or body. if you are addicted to pharmaceutical (!) opioids, you have exactly the same life expectance as any other person not on opioids and a longer life expecance than someone who drinks alcohol regularly. that also something that has only ever happened to me with drunk people. people on amphetamines are much quicker to realize when you are not interested in what they're talking about and people on mdma ime often ask if it's ok that they're talking so much bullshit to you every few minutes. although, that can get annoying too, especially if you are actually having a meaningful conversation with that person despite their intoxication i'm not a professional, but you can add me to the list of people that have never produced music under the influence of anything (including alcohol and cannabis). -
au contraire. toilet cleaner usually is lye. but with heavy acid and some distortion you can probably neutralize the stuff in the air before it reaches your eyes. @radi maybe you're using something ammonia based (which would be unusual, but toilet cleaner vapor hurting the eyes is so too)? get NaOH based drain cleaner instead (which would be the usual kind you get in most parts of the world).

JIS - Illusions of Reality (Timewarp 013)
Padmapani replied to Nova Fractal's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
thanks for the soundcloud link. the youtube video still only plays 3 seconds for me. -
+2 thanks for sharing anoebis. i wonder why this track isn't more well known and never has been re-released if it's so rare, that even here so many people haven't even heard of it.
-
i don't like har-el or california very much, but rain, jajo and most of all summer 89 are absolute masterpieces. they are among if not the most euphoric morning tracks in psytrance. the reverb on the main lead of summer 89 dilates even sober pupils
-
it's a good one. and this also reminds me a bit of the "new" union jack album. maybe hypnotic, entrancing trance is preparing for a comeback
-
am i the only one that thinks that his lsd remix is one of doof's weaker works? i love his relaxed, trancy, groovy or epic acid tracks, but for me his lsd remix has none of those. it tends toward his heavier acid tracks, but is not nearly as epic as double dragons or the near to the divine remix and lacks the groove of angelina, youth of the galaxy or destination bom. i even find the acidline annoying from time to time; and that's something that happens rarely for me
-
thanks already for the suggestions. @oopie the last two are good. i like @goa travellers that one is great. exactly the style i'm looking for.

hi i'm currently getting more and more into techno and would like some recommendations. i'm not looking for acid techno, freetekno, techtrance, minimal techno and the like, just plain, real techno. probably i'm still unknowlegable about some of the great classics from the 90s. but mainly i'm also looking for more mechanical, harder sound, maybe with a sort of warehouse vibe to it. here are some examples of what i think is good techno (probably influenced a bit from my obvious psy background ) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lw8EhxVv098 or kopfuss resonator - monokiller, but i can't find that one on youtube. i'm sure that some of you have great tracks to share and pointers into directions that can help me with my search

gamma loop - eclipse is great. i have it in my car this summer. what i find similar and equally good (but a bit more floating than intense) is microwave prince - cycle evolution.
