  1. the discussion about atmospheres and the comparisons of the different places in the solar system remind me of that one: http://what-if.xkcd.com/30/
  2. i think the first one would have simply been called trance back then, sometimes moving into the direction of tribal trance for a bit. the second one is more difficult, somewhere between hard trance and nitzhonot perhaps? (but the genre between these two would usually be uplifting trance, which it isn't either really...)
  3. the people in london are sparse and rather chill or walk around aimlessly if you compare london to singapore (at least the predominantly chinese areas near the city center). i've never seen more people per square metre on the streets (not even in india) if you stop for a second you'll immediately block the path of someone (or possibly the path of 20 people). but singapore much less noisy and much more controlled and organized than india (or europe for that matter)

    Avatars.

i don't think my avatar needs an explanation. it's the magic knob of everyone's (it should be at least ) favourite box.
  5. they did say that they'd make a new album if this video got over 100 000 views, which happened iirc around a year ago.
  6. D5, Artha and Chi-A.D. what? you should come a few kilometers further east to your neighbouring country. in the last few years i've seen etnica twice, AP twice and atma at least 4 times. it seems like atma is in the lineup of every second party around here...
  7. thanks for the recommendations. mr gasmask i knkow already, but i'll definitely check the others out. hehe, alright, so i'll just stick the acidcore label on it
  8. yup. although sugar rush and lunar cycle are also nice
  9. medium-good computer speakers (far from those cheap, horrible, crappy kind of computer speakers, so good enough for casual listening). but i'm meaning to buy some proper studio headphones for a few months now...
  10. i just yesterday asked about dreamweaver in another topic. and what's up with gnotr? they promised us a new album
  11. maybe it's still a legacy from the goa days. dj mixing has already improved from mixing dats to the way it is now. as a result people prefer "livesets" because they really are smooth with good transitions and no one cares about the djs. now i'm speculating that as a result of this the djs know they are only "filler" between livesets and don't put too much effort into their mixing and the circle starts again
  12. apparently i was late to start buying releases. the first albums i bought (all at once) were: Dimension 5 - Transdimensional (re-release) Khetzal - Corolle Goasia - From other Spaces Twist Dreams Opus Iridium
  13. this one is easy, we don't have to only choose one like in the other threads i'll go for Paradise Connection - Portamento Electric Universe: - Luna Overdrive - Stardiver - Online Information - The Prayer - Mornin Star - One Love - Rain (Original Unreleased Version) sirius shuttle imho doesn't count as it's a collaboration, otherwise it'd also be on the list.
  14. absolutely great track. thanks for posting it here. hard hitting, with lots of acid and a goa-y vibe, a bit like solar quest. but what genre would you fit it in; is it acidcore, acid tekno or hard acid techno? @imba dreamweaver is great, i also love his aquasphere track from blissful moments (although that's anything but intense). does anyone know what happened to him? given up on psy?
  15. this does happen from time to time. but it's most of the time less of an issue about goa becoming old, but more of "whoa, i'm missing out on all the other great music that's around". so i'll listen to mainly psychedelic rock, acid techno or straight trance for one or two days before i switch back to goa. still, i don't remember a peroid of time longer than 2 days of not listening to goa in the last 7 years.
  16. especially when they spell out the title of the track like with number 6
  17. no way! asterope is great of course (that intro! ), but it could use some of that intense crazyness that alcyone has in the latter parts of the track. alcyone on the other hand is a bit weak and thin sounding at the beginning. only maia delivers a steady and constant level of awesome from start to finish
  18. motherfuckin big fat bass? no wonder psytrance has become shit if that's what it is all about... also "motherfuckin big fat bass" is one of the last things to come to my mind when hearing that track. try miranda - gnocchi, mfg - on mars or x-dream - psychomachine instead.
  19. @rotwang yup, seems like it. @imba's photo iirc that was at czechtek 2004. i actually was at the same festival and there were much stranger sights to be seen there. it's also part of the anarchistic idea prevalent at those events to no care about such things.
  20. when you spend every minute in your home you're awake listening to that music and consider yourself an expert of some sort in that genre, i would have expected to at least know more than half of the tunes . 46 was easy. there's only 2 goa tracks using that unique sample and both are great. 30 on the other hand was hard indeed. conversely, i was surprised that so few people got 47 and 50. both tracks are classics and have very characteristic melodies. and great job to you ormion for selecting those signature parts of the tracks. the only objection i have here is numer 6, where i find the speach sample to be the most characteristic part
  21. really? Discogs says otherwise. bit i remember renaming that track back and forth multiple times every time i thought i got a more qualified source
  22. damn, that's hard. i got an embarrassing 17 up to now. will give it a second listen soon. you're lucky. i'm already stuck on track 1, although i likely listen to it all the time. gah! wait, i got it now edit: so, here's an updated list from the second time, but i still got only 22 :
  23. just because it's fullon doesn't mean it's psychedelic. contemporary fullon is not the same music as fullon in 2003 or so. even the track from the video in the original post is basically fullon, but is it psychedelic?
  24. with the orban government and jobbik all around i bet that hungary is even worse with regards to racism and so on. no, i really prefer flat landscapes. mountains in the distance are ok and can very rarely even look nice, but i don't get what people like about them so much that they want to set a foot on them. if i could i'd definitely replace the alps with the hungarian puszta.
