i was unemployed for a short time, but went back to university to get a degree in a similar field, which still has some of the benefits from decades gone by (and a better salary as well as better work life balance). the local association for that field pays you wages if cannot find a job, but according to them that has never occurred up to now.

The harsh reality... Why Psytrance has become shit
Padmapani replied to Anoebis's topic in General Psytrance
you call that music psychedelic? ___________ for dancing to psytrance i reccomend this tutorial: -
wrong. my proof: u-he diva. < /discussion > i've seen a blind test and the majority of the people (synth freaks, some knowing the minimoog in and out) thought that diva was the minimoog and the minimoog was the plugin. and btw many old goa heroes from the 90s used those cheap digital synths, that were available at the time.

isn't it time to pollify this?

my favourite road to drive is the M1 in hungary. love the good road condition and the beautiful, perfectly flat landscape. i hate mountains.

i have a drawer containing some suntrip stickers, but haven't yet found an item worthy of being stickered. this is exactly what i fear

you forget that mars doesn't have a magnetic field like the earth. if you lived with similar style as on earth on a terraformed mars (ah well, we're born a few centuries too early for that if that will ever happen), you'd have quite a sizable cancer risk.

i love the night. from the relaxing and social evening to the quiteness and creativity that comes a few hours later. but i also love the afternoon with sun, heat (if the weather and seasons are right) and the colour of the light. what i really hate are the hours from 6:00 am to noon. ime the harsh, bright light along with the associations with stress that comes at that time of the day is best slept through. +1. no sane person could ever classify waking up at 1pm as waking up late

for the A scenario, i'd give them an overview over all psytrance that's a bit on the easy listening side instead of the real essentials: Dimension 5 - Transdimensional Etnica - Alien Protein (IFO is too much for beginners) Astral Projection - Dancing Galaxy Hallucinogen - Twisted (these four for oldschool goa) Talamasca - Musica Divinorum Protoculture - Refractions (this and the above for fullon) E-Clip - Shuma (for progressive) Scatterbrain - Infernal Angel (for darkpsy. it's not too representative, but it's good ) Ra - 9th Artifact303 - Back to Space (the last two for newschool goa) B: Dimension 5 - Transdimensional Etnica - Live in Athens (double cd ) BPC - A Blueprint for Survival (double cd) MWNN - Teleportation Artha - Influencing Dreams Khetzal - Corolle Ott - Hallucinogen in Dub VA - Organic Vision 1 VA - Space of Power (double cd again) VA - Tantrance 5 (another double cd, but worth it alone for gnocchi and full mental jackpot) C: Pleiadians - IFO Etnica - Alien Protein Dimension 5 - Transdimensional Dimension 5 - Second Phaze Dimension 5 - TransStellar E-Mantra - Arcana Logic Bomb - Unlimited Hux Flux - Division by Zero CBL - Interloper S-Range - Space (obviously ) D : Ra - 9th Dimension 5 - Transdimensional Dimension 5 - TransStellar Khetzal - Corolle BPC - A Blueprint for Survival MWNN - Teleportation VA - Sundrops the last albums would have to be rather psychedelic/progressive rock than goa/psytrance. these lists turned out quite varied. more than i expected. in any case, i'd miss all the others i couldn't take with me.

Post the most powerful-super intense Goa tracks
Padmapani replied to Ormion's topic in General Psytrance
interesting. most of the tracks mentioned, i don't find that powerful or intense at all. ganesh pramana? fast, nice but imho not overwhelmingly intense. my picks would be: crop circles - lunar civilization (filteria's higher mix) <- much more intense than the original. filteria - sky input <- the whole album. artha - bali deedrah - alien dick psylent buddhi - convergent images ra - time current <- trancy but intense shakta - lepton head part 3 (deedrah remix and filteria remix) miranda - gnocchi <- not as intense overall, but the thick kickdrum and the acidline make up for it. alienapia - order to chaos most of novafractal's music some psy-h project some moments from IFO that's a lot more newschool than oldschool. there are quite some areas where oldschool excels, but intensity is not one of them. take for instance darshan - energy trace and compare it to alienapia - order to chaos. energy trace seems quite laid back, dreamy and "tranced out" in comparison despite being 10bpm faster. -
then you might like these ones

that's the ka-sol album cover.

what are your fav Infinity project trance tracks?
Padmapani replied to radi6404's topic in General Psytrance
overall i don't like tip very much, but stimuli is a great track. -
a german speaker will naturally understand not even the whole german language area, although you will get a few words or if you're lucky complete sentances of dutch (and flemish i think) and very few words of danish, swedish and norwegian. i don't understand swiss german or german from the extreme north of germany at the first listen. it takes a few hours to adjust to understand half of it and a few days to get most of it (and probably years to understand everything). on the other hand it's little effort for me to talk in a way as to be unintelligible for anyone from the northern half of germany, but still be perfectly clear for anyone from austria.

the only other poster who had a photo of himself as avatar iirc was njho hyrennro (sp?) . but i still think that he's real. and radi's posts are sometimes funny and at other times spark interesting discussions. so: please stay radi, psynews needs you. and i hope you laugh about the rucurring boris blenn jokes as we do, we mean no harm . we know your appreciation for his music in this Virtual Landspace comes From the Heart; so Embrace it and Rock Da House.

i never got into sensient although i like similar music. i've always found sensient to be too minimal for the "full on" darkprog weirdness of i.e. onionbrain and not hard, bleak or techno-ish enough for to fit into the minimal psytrance stuff i like. but considering the praises his music receives, i think i'll give it another listen.

for the friction of flowing water, you should use the colebrook equation: Colebrook equation
-
if you fail you can always try becoming boris blenn.

so, deep space 5D was psytrance instead of goa? i think oriental is not a good word to use here. oriental (depending on the definition) also includes indian-style scales/melodies/harmonies/"feeling", which the threadstarter or i have no problem with. most of old goa trance with "oriental" melodies (exceptions mostly coming from israel) had a deep, mystical tone and uses those foreign scales in a, i don't know, more "indian" way (take morphem - magma for example. when i was in goa, i had to listen to this one on repeat because for me it harmonises so well with that place), while a lot of newer goa trance uses foreign scales mostly in a way, that instantly reminds me of the artist name "drunk pharaoh" (regardless if the music is similar to the original drunk pharaoh or not).

Lyrics for your next tune
Padmapani replied to Goa Travellers's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
great sample. i only knew the electric universe track, but i spent a lot of time tracking down the lyrics (not an easy task considering my limited knowledge of the script; and it's even worse trying to find it using our letters). @rotwang yep, it's the same sample -
sounds familiar. got a masters in biochemistry and i'm now working on my next masters degree in a field which allows me to actually get a job.
