  1. i'm also one of them. it was my second love in music after 60's/70's psychedelic/progressive rock. i own all black sabbath cds. i also liked things like pantera, sepultura, zakk wylde's black label society or guitar focused stuff like yngwie malmsteen (who also has a 80's hair metal touch ). i never got iron maiden or judas priest. i found them too "thin" sounding and not "heavy" enough for me... but one of my absolutely favourite metal bands is inexplicably missing from this thread: tool. hard and heavy, still not noisy or harsh, but mathematical and with synth elements and most of all highly psychedelic (much more so than most recent fullon). listen to the lateralus album, it's a trip!
  2. what? how can anyone going to psy parties not like the fluoro stuff? well, at very least, the increasingly rare flouro-wool-art used to be better than those shitty lasers they love to point at the eyes of the dancing people nowadays.
  3. i agree that techno is better here than tech-house, but you don't even need to stray that far from psytrance. take some acid techno for example: 20 totally-trance inducing minutes! or this one:
  4. gamemaster is just a ripoff from this track released 4 years earlier:
  5. thanks for sharing! nice selection of 303 heavy goa, there can never be enough acid
  6. cosmosis is also good. and progressive definitely. but koxbox? i'd say... no way. if you play koxbox you can also play process, early hux flux or tim schuldt. astral being a no no is strange. imho it's the most accessible real goa trance.
  7. @ tsoukalos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VWA9JSyozA a few students made this one with 3d animation. making those ufo videos seems a whole lot easier than that.
  8. most likely fake, but reminds me of this: http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iLSp9uoYDc the one from hong kong sounds like pitch shifted brass instruments and the "decoded" one sounds totally like the sounds you get if you play around with logic's sculpture. but maybe it's the vogons' last warning before making way for the hyperspace express route what a whole bunch of crap. every major earthquake alters the axis of the earth by a few milli- or centimeters. how would this have anything to do with strange sounds?
  9. dude, i think everyone has read it and listend to it already. why not let it rest for a while and try again after a few months. for me that worked. new people will probably have joined and the old ones will know more music by then. anyway, good luck with finding the name of that track
  10. apparently psytrance makes people creative i agree. it's not spectacular but decent. it actually sounds like something i'd expect from astral after all this time, as if they decided "well, our old fans need something new, we don't want to put too much effort in it, but it has to be done". so it's still a lot better than open society and the like.
  11. some progressive acid from 2012: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgdye_fIvrA for goa, portamento and artha have been mentioned, artifact303 also deserves a spot here. and agneton also has some crazy acidlines on his latest album.
  12. and a new cool looking website too! pity it doesn't display the leftmost portion screenshot: http://oi48.tinypic.com/2gtqd21.jpg
  13. not a doctor. i'm one of those guys who find out how diseases work, so that the pharmaceutical scientists can design a suitible medicine, which the doctor then prescribes. nothing to do with ayurveda
  14. i have no idea. maybe going to a party, maybe eating/playing boardgames with friends and family, maybe nothing at all. time will tell.
  15. WTF!! mahadeva is their best track! people can fly is at most in their top 30%!
  16. i've never worked in a hospital, don't doubt that people with ds are nice people, deserve the same respect as anyone else and i of course respect your opinion in this case, but as a molecular biologist, albeit far from nobel-prize-winning and in fact more unemployed, i fail to see why a condition, which has a 50% chance of giving you congenital heart disease in addition to reducing your life expectancy by 20 years, highly likely giving you gastrointestinal disorders and dramatically raising your chance of getting neurodegenerative diseases at early ages (among quite a few other things), can be classified as anything else than a disease. no offence ment, this is just my perfectly dismissible opinion great!
  17. yes, it's trancy, but for me tech house is too boring and too commercial sounding. after all it's still house. i'll gladly take some straight techno instead. it has the same of trancyness and more energy and power. still, the number one trance-inducing track i know is found in goa trance: it has the monotony and regularity of all those tech-styles, but still the enveloping warmth of trance and that combination enables me to totally get lost in it.
  18. awesome5! can't wait. say, will the suntrip shop have 'etnica - live in athens 1996' in stock later? just asking because you've previously sold dat records releases and i'd like to save a bit on shipping
  19. nice! it's been a long time since hearing from you. good luck with the album(s)
  20. you might want to have a look at http://www.panzarproduktionz.com/ they have a lot of free stuff. most of it not as professional sounding as the artists you mentioned, but it's neither housy, nor fullonny, nor melody-driven, but mostly like the early 00s progressive with a heavy pounding kick. (moment is pretty good imho)
