    Nicknames

i was getting a bit tired of my gaming nickname and searching for someting new. so combine love for the sanskrit word for lotus with a newly found interest in buddhism, and you get the name of the bodhisattva padmapani, the lotus bearer. i could have used the same logic as drosophila and called myself saccharomyces, but i can't identify that much with yeast
  3. sacrilege? probably, but since bpc doesn't play overbloody flood anymore i still did one. it might not be up there with the original ( ), but i expect it to be at least a bit better than astral's cheap "just slap a fullon bassline underneath" approach.
  4. agreed. i usually hate darkpsy with some notable exceptions, but this is actually very good music! sadly this atmospheric acidcore is new to me, so i don't have any suggestions.
  5. my substance of daily choice are definitely cigarettes. i smoke at least 30 a day
  6. it totally sounds like human blue, but i listened to all i have of human blue (thrice) and haven't found it
  7. nice track. but i don't think i'll have time to try and remix it. but holy shit, that cover is absolutely awesome!
  8. i wasn't sure what constitues the 'sequence', so i listened in the following 30 seconds or so until the next major change happened. i could of course be wrong with the 12 channels
  9. in descending order: 1. orange acid 2. karma 209 3. flower power (we haven't had this one yet i think) 4. red hair hospital 5. anno domini 6. radioactive rain mad cows on acid of course is also nice! btw: sun project doesn't even come close to tim schuldt imho.
  10. double dragons without a doubt. let's turn on and angelinina are also very good, but only double dragons has that certain acidy-epicness
  11. some psynewsers should know about it. there was a remix contest for trance africa express after all. at very least elysium should know my guess is that it's a "typical" sh-101 style bassline (probably not on a sh-101 though) with saw and square sub-osc, but i could be wrong.
  12. freetek similar to gabba? are you serious? the only thing these two have in comming is the bpm and distorted kick. that's like comparing cosmosis to tiesto! but basically lemmiwinks hit the nail on the head. imho tekno is utterly devoid of cheese (well, 99% of the time ) and edm in its raw and pure essence. and unlike goa, listening at home isn't even half the experience. you have to go to a party to feel the raw power of tekno. still, i'm getting too old for this. it's similar to what they say about 5-meo-dmt and dmt. tekno is the power and goa is the glory i used to go to lots of tekno parties and actually my first festival ever was czechtek (an amazing experience i'll never forget ). back then most underground partypeople i knew would (like me) start with drumnbass then move to tekno and finally to psytrance. some stayed with dnb, some with tekno, and now some are moving on to minimal... whatever. here's some classics from austrian tekno parties: http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=341qK2heIFQ this one is ideally enjoyed at 180 bpm. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJhi_EWFqIs&list=FLSnSFzAiDAWW2Bhtpdptcww&index=15&feature=plpp_video http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UgnejApIm4&list=FLSnSFzAiDAWW2Bhtpdptcww&index=2&feature=plpp_video http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_AnOcHwGX0 if there is just ONE tekno classic, then this is it. however, tekno sadly is generally not available on albums, and it's pretty difficult even finding out the name of the artist or of one track, so i'll recommend this mixtape: http://freeteknomusic.org/archive/c/chemotaxis/sets/cts-teatime-mixed-by-emix
  13. the first one was better, but both are nice. downloading right now. how come this one is nowhere else on psynews? @topic Hardfloor - Lost in the Silver Box
  14. worked on the second try (the first time the artwork also didn't show up) . samples sound nice. the new stuff is much softer and trancier than the old album, but it like it. it sounds a bit like antares, but i guess you can't really judge the tracks just by 2:00 samples
  15. yep, most of miranda's tracks are good but not really special. one track still really stands out for me and that's gnocchi. i have yet to hear a track that's so hard and heavy (and acidic) and is still goa. the only things that come close isarehallucinogen - thugs in tye-dye, necton - there ain't no answers, x-dream - thorazin and some acid techno tracks.
  16. totally depends on the country. here in austria most larger of the cafés, bars and restaurants are split, and small places are exempt from the smoking ban. i have no idea about the law in most clubs; some are split, but i haven't seen anyone caring about the smoking ban on a dancefloor.
  17. totally depends on the metal. if you dissolve it in acid, there's still metal ions left, so the metal isn't totally destroyed. for some metals you have much better options. for example for lithium; here you have this awesome reaction: 6Li + n → 4He + 3T bombard it with neutrons and you'll get helium, a noble gas, and tritium, an isotope of hydrogen. tada! metal totally destroyed!
