  1. some goa-ish acid trance/techno: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHe0jS_gDVk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_NlLIAQWNU plus most of the solar quest - acid0philez album.
  2. we finally got it going again Space Cat Scatterbrain Tristan Onionbrain Deviant Species out: Igor Swamp
  3. imho too slow and trancy for that. but for a cross between goa, acid and hard trance, i'd recommend cybernaut. Cybernaut - Palipitations or something a little more goa:
  4. lucky you. i've wasted nearly 5 minutes watching the whole video. i was too awestruck from all the crappyness and cheesyness, that i couldn't just close it
  5. wow, that's even worse than alien jesus! i'd rather listen to that hideous psycore stuff than "fullon" (well it obviously isn't fullon, but what is it?!?) like that.
  6. i see why you wouldn't call this fullon and it indeed reminds me of pre-fullon psytrance, but as music like that would be called fullon when i started to go to parties i guess it will remain fullon for me i agree with the rest of your post and that tristan track is indeed a nice example. me like!
  7. wow, so many replies in so short time. psynews is indeed a lot more busy since offtopic was reopened.... i was afraid of that question, as i'm not up to date with regards to fullon and heard the best examples in dj sets by local dj's. but i'll still try to look for examples on youtube: http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mn56rMsAvbk http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFtsg0x6suA&feature=related and also this one: Dickster & Burn In Noise - The Wibbler the first sounds a bit too much like generic fullon, while the second is a bit too melodic and lacks a bit in atmosphere, but these are the closest things i've found (things really sound different when hearing them on a big soundsytem). some of the tracks in the thread also fit nicely, especially the EVP one, the aphid moon track is also close, but better because of the melodies
  8. i like these ones a lot: http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=plEmI12KoME http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=viyNVraDQkE too many media files? links will suffice. Cygnus X - Kinderlied especially Cygnus-X has a goa-ish vibe going on on most tracks that haven't become trance classics.
  9. agreed. but i prefer the freetekno kick as it isn't distorted quite as much. psytrance needs more distorted 909s! http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajYQyAFozlI
  10. so i've been to two festivals this year and have noticed that melodic, cheesy fullon a la gms and astrix as we know it has nearly disappeared from the mainfloors. sometimes it is replaced by darkpsy as night music (which is increasingly happening in the last years anyway), but more importantly the formulaic/"always the same" crap we've been accustomed to in the last few years, has evolved! i have so far noticed two new (or maybe just becoming popular) styles of fullon: 1. minimal-techno-influenced fullon take fullon, take away some of the cheese, leave the typical fullon fx and sounds in, and add minimal-techno-like bleeps and bloops to it. this one also plays around with the kick and bass quite a bit, having more complex patterns, a slower feel and a lot of "stops" (in lack of a better word; kick and bass are like K-bbK-bbK-b-K---K....) as i hate minimal techno, i find this stuff awful. those quirky bass patterns imho take the whole flow out of the music and make it impossible to trance out. i'd rather have another astrix clone than this! 2. night fullon i'm sure it (or a vaguely similar sound; i know the name has been around for a long time) has been around for some time, but now is the first time that it really becomes popular. basically the music i'm talking about has a typical fullon beat (but often with a less prominent bass), with almost no melody, lots of fx (but is totally different from darkpsy) and is pretty atmospheric (a new thing to fullon afaik ), less "put your hands up in the air breaks", and a lot more acid than we are used to from recent psytrance. it kinda reminds me of old x-dream, koxbox, hux flux or logic bomb at times. this second style i like a lot. it does away with all the fullon cheese and adds atmosphere and storytelling to the music, is danceable and actually put back the "psy" in psytrance. and even better: it has acid! if it only there were melodies so what are your observations and thoughts on the state of fullon?
  11. ime yes. of about 5 female DJs in my area only one plays anything other than darkpsy
  12. it's the same with the leads. i hardly hear anything beside the way too lound kick. @op listen to your favourite goa tracks and analyse what makes them great. try to recreate the melodies and the sounds. if you stumble upon something good along the way, save it. then use your skills/insight/methods you've learned to make something completely new
  13. hm.... glitched happy hardcore without the vocals. not my thing.
  14. hehe. still infinitely better than having the crap from commercial radio stations, that i'm constantly bombarded with at work, stuck in your head. i'd gladly take the nyan cat instead.
  15. i have the same birthday as the last austrian emperor, why do people deny my god given right to the throne? oh, we're a republic, that must be it
  16. talpa comes to my mind, but that's not your typical psytrance anyway.
  17. maybe etnoscope? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOE45q2xqvU
  18. nice tune! something unrelated: do you plan on pursuing the sound from your chynacid project any further? tofu ep was really great
  19. Scatterbrain Para Halu Krumelur BOTFB Deviant Species out: Kindzadza
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wja3B_d16kQ this track must not be missing from this thread.
  21. Crop Circles Cosmosis Ubar Tmar Electron Wave Electric Universe out: The Infinity Project @exotic, i was about to do exatly the same thing
  22. i disagree. more is more . i just love it when there's too many things going on. still it's a quite a nice track even if a bit boring at times (which can be a good thing in trance music). i especially like mystical-oldschool-vibes from the stolen-from-elysium-bassline
  23. Spirallianz Cosmosis Prana The Delta Slinky Wizard out: eat static.
