  1. Hello, I'm looking for a certain type of music. Beautiful, heavenly, floating, dreamy music. I guess on here people would tend to refer to it as "ambient" or "downtempo" or chill, but I don't think that *quite* covers what I'm looking for. I'm looking for music that sort of fits that mold, but it must be soothing and dreamy. It must have structure and melody and not have harsh sounds or interludes, it has to go somewhere or do something more than drift and/or fall in dissonance. It needs a melody or a real hook. Part of the problem is that I hear a lot of music I like the sound to, stuff I'd rate 75 out of 100, but I want a 95/100, stuff that will simply blow me away. Here are some examples of some of the kind of music I'm looking for, music that does not fit the genre of this site and music that does. Rachel's Song - Vangelis, from the Blade Runner soundtrack. This is, hands down, the most beautiful song I have ever heard or ever will hear in my life. It is perfect, the swells are absolutely heavenly and the tone, mood, atmosphere, the contrast between warmth and cold, it's all wondrous. The interlude that runs from 2:20 to 2:50 is perfection. If someone could recommend me music that sounds like this, that'd be incredible. Arclight - VNV Nation Probably the third most beautiful song I've ever heard, it's incredible. I love stuff like, I think most people would say it's the most chill or downtempo song on the album and the layering is gorgeous. New Tomorrow - The Legendary Pink Dots Actually I think a ton of songs from the Legendary Pink Dots from 1989-1996 are gorgeous... all of "The Maria Dimension" and "Hallway of the Gods" albums in particular. I don't imagine many people on here have heard them, but if you know of anything like this, tell me please. Hymn - Moby Very simple, very effective, very beautiful. I'd like to hear more music like this. Now onto the tracks I would like to more music like that fit the description of this forum a lot better: Epicenter; MOS 6581 - Carbon Based Lifeforms Wow! This is some album, but those two tracks in particular are fantastic! I'd like to hear more like this. I have "World of Sleepers" but it doesn't hook you like the first album, except Betula Pendula comes close. Blue Galaxie - Total Eclipse This is a very good track with a strong melody and a good atmosphere. It's actually my favorite track on the "Violent Relaxation" album; soothing, pretty... it works. It doesn't have quite the dense, floating atmospheric feel of "Hydroponic Garden" but it fits. I also like some tracks from Aes Dana's "5th Season," like Dew (Herbal Version). I listened to Solar Fields' "Reflective Frequencies" but I didn't like it, it had a lot of harsh noises and was short on melodies and lacked structure. So if anyone could recommend me artists, maybe specific albums or tracks I could sample on saikosounds and see if I like, that would be much appreciated! Thank you.
