well.. i'm not sure if i'm right about the 7/8 but in comparison : techno has a 4/4 beat, or 4/8 turkish music (as in 'is known for') has a beat that extends to a regular beat such as 4/4 like for example: 4 beats followed by 4 beats and then followed by 5 beats .. that's what i mean with irregular

nice track about my deepest influences, i can only mention things from a far past those are mainly tapes and mixtapes i got from friends (talking bout 1992 - 1997 or sth) mixtapes of At The Villa (belgian club) a obscure mixtape mixed by a friend of a friend and some other tapes with old house i got when i was a kid tracks that i can think of now that got me inspired and which i eventually found (title-wise) Al Ferox - Dead Zone Marco Bailey - Sniff X-Ray - Requim there are more, but can't find them online

making a mix with only your best/favorite tracks ? imo you're thinking too much in tracks then in the wholeness of a mix i once had an opportunity to make a mixed-cd (not like GU fcourse, but a mix suitable for CD-R, with cover artwork) http://chaserecords.free.fr/mixes/chasemix005.htm but in my opinion, a blend of best tracks only is just that, it will prolly never be a best mix
