I started casually listening to psy/goa trance music a few years ago, but I only really started to get into it. I was wondering if there any acts that make psytrance with funk, not sure what it's called or how to describe what I am talking about, but I guess it's the more playful side of psytrance, with the more strange, creative, playful sounds. It has some funky vibes mixed in the psychedellic vibes. I have a cd from Mark Allen, Return to the source, electric safari mix, and there is a song on there, no.2 I think that seems to fit the bill. any ideas would be cool,

I have that one, I got it from bi-torrent.com, same link I think, and I guess it might not be working anymore, but it worked when I dl'ed it. I've only listened to it once, I guess I should try it for another session.

Damn I wanna hear this remix, cuz I used to really like the voodoo people song. what kinda remix is it? Like complete change, diff. genre etc.

Just a hunch, maybe it's Flexual by Psychaos? There is a synth in that song that sounds like a cat meowing, but I don't remember if there is a laugh. I know the song is from the Distance to Goa 8 compliation that I have, so that might help.

Well, I've been wondering too. The first sound is a sawtooth waveform with the filter moving up and down, and some other fx maybe, (delay of course) The other I'm not sure, but it sounds like some patch you coud get from a synth. It's a cool sound and I wish I knew how to recreate it. Sorry I can't be as much help....those are my guesses.

I'm definitly loving this song, I have to get it....has that great shpongle like complexitiy to it, but I knew it wasn't a shpongle track when I heard it because the bass didn't seem like something from shpongle, maybe to loud, too much sub, dunno.

that's cool but I'm looking for a real human voice, not a robotic synthesized one.

Alright, I've been really wanting to know where so many people get these audio samples for their psytrance productions. And I mean the audio samples of random people talking and such, the stuff you hear on so many psy trance songs. Those crazy clips of some guy talking time travel, or someone saying random one liners, like "you can fly" or "mind altering drugs" you know what I mean? I know a lot of them come from movies, but is there some site that any of you know of that have good samples like the ones I'm talking about? Sometimes I just wish I could have some realistic voice generator that would speak anything I typed (and not text to speech engines that come with microsoft...)

woah, music does effect the way people think, it really does. Maybe not too much on a grand scale, but it can definitly make you feel different and do things differently.

Just curious about what people say to the goa and psy trance scene.

Any ideas for a good soundcard that would aid in music making, and is not that expensive?

thanks a lot guys, great help, but I checked out the Virus TI and it's in the thousands..way too expenisve for me. Virus Classic is also a little pricey, but the TI looks incredible..would love to have that one.

I've been producing a lot of goa lately and I'm looking to buy a synth, any suggestions on a good synth that's suitable for this kind of music and isn't too expensive..?
