For some, others seem to want it to evolve and get rid of the old style from what I've seen.
-
Actually this one is from the 90's.
-
Discogs says Progressive House, Electro, Synth-pop but imo that makes it sound cheesy and it really is not, it's such quality music with a strong 80's touch. I fucking love it, it's so emotional. Oh man.

What music are you listening to right now?

THAT CRYSTAL 80's SOUND IS FUCKING GREAAT -
I must agree. Bright boards on large monitors just suck.

Thing is, I don't personally need more activity than this, it's enough for me to have at least some people enthused and speaking their mind on such an underground music. Having little is much better than having none. For you it might have been enough, sure, I mean you've been with the scene almost 2 decades..

Oh god. I saw that coming from miles away.

I think Jikkenteki, K.O.B. and Merr0w are worth this comp alone. Just awesome new darker psychedelic goatrance. Simply trippy. Analokuth is the only one I really found just boring, I don't like the type minimal music his track was, it's well produced and all but it's just too empty.

Very cool! Extremely excited for Sky Technology. Others sound great as well. -
Upcoming GOA releases on Arabesque

So soon? waat. It's like some people finally have the old school mentality, i.e. MFG having albums in 1996, 1997 and 1998 and all being some of the best goatrance ever written. -

Looking back later I do think this album is very solid. Liquid Flow has had awesome tracks on compilations. To mention some, Overdose, Synergy, Reformation, also the EP, Goa Terminal, was quite good. All of these tracks have definitely carried expectations for a full album. How good could he actually get? The tracks here are good, even very good, but the problem is the diversity is immensely lacking. Every track individually is good, but when you're trying to listen to the whole thing it just won't work because they all carry the same formula and the overall sound seems on repeat. Definitely room for improvement for a next album, needs more maybe key changes, a couple slower tracks, some experimentation. Either way this is still a good release, the old school spirit with all the newly found power does carry over, no kidding, but it's just not something you should expect to listen from beginning till the end on one go as it will grow tiring. Even so, as I said, the tracks are actually good, they have tons of raving fresh power and I have to take my hats off to that. Best described with the words Ultra and Neo. The whole album is definitely strong party material. Melodies are not exactly hit and miss, but there's definitely some better than others. Also one thing that is kind of a big part of the same kind of sound are the basslines, they aren't bad, but I think it's one reason why everything sounds so samey. All in all, with all said and done, I'd recommend checking this album out.

Since I've been lately looking at a new pair of headphones, I am wondering what do you people use to listen to your beloved goa and psytrance(ok ok, ambient/downtempo too). Speakers, Headphones, Sources. Also I think this could be a nice thread for suggestions for people who are wondering what to get. It's so easy to google "headphones for-mostothergenres" but here is where the search hits a wall. It's either electronic overall or the more known sub-genres, but hardly ever for the music the psynews people listen to. There really aren't that many even electronic enthused audiophiles who's opinions would be gold worthy. I think we could have a thread dedicated to just that. Though I don't know how extensive are the common pienewser experiences on good audio quality equipment, can't hurt to have one of these though. And don't be ashamed of cheap ones, I think we've all been there, honestly. And if you feel like upgrading, you're free to ask and hopefully someone can answer, or if not, you can always check out tons and tons of reviews on head-fi. Like I did. For main usage, I bought Koss Pro4AAT headphones almost 2 years ago for a nice ~60e price and I thought they were pretty good, but as they indeed were so cheap and do lack in many regards(I always have quite a bit of EQ tweaking on, it just sounds completely flat without any. But when I have the EQ they sound actually very nice for psytrance, but that's about it, not much else sounds that good. They do need an amp to drive properly and very bulky/weighty so I wouldn't suggest them, honestly. I believe there are much better phones for the same prices.), I'm now upgrading to Ultrasone HFI-580's 140e-200e with a 200e budget. These headphones actually have quite a bit of "great for electronic" comments, with special mentions to the impact of the bass and good trebles(For me nice coloring > neutral, precise sound), but I will post my impressions when I get them and burn them a while. Edit: I actually decided to go for the tad cheaper HFI-580 over the 780. 50€ is a lot of difference for the quite small sound differences. My speakers are.. small, for a reason though. there is not much wall separating me and my neighbors and I'm not one of those who wishes to really disturb anyone. Creative Gigaworks T20 S.II., I researched quite a bit and I think they sound fantastic for such small and compact 2.0 speakers. Also just plain good size, I got like 20cm room left on my desktop after I put these there. Would recommend if you are looking for something more compact with great quality and a nice price. Works well for any music really, imo. 60e-100e. Source PC, Asus Xonar Essence ST soundcard. ~180e, pretty expensive but the best in the biz, for headphones at least. Though I don't think it's going to be enough for like 600ohm headphones. For outside portable use, it's the definitive Koss Portapros. ~20e Can't really go wrong with them imo, except if you reeaaally don't like to disturb others in which case you need to lower the volume quite a bit, or you are just too much of an audiophile that you need bigger and better, but otherwise they're just so mobile, cheap and have good sound quality. I used to use the Koss Earplugs but I don't really enjoy having stuff in my ears anymore. Works just well for pietrance and all other music. Go on, share yours.

Who wants to make a Suntrip T-Shirt design?
Penzoline replied to Anoebis's topic in Visual Promotion
How long till you choose one? I may try something on ps -
Well if someone else takes psynews in control then they may as well make a new off-topic and the activity might increase. Of course he needs to bear in mind on what happened to psynews because of offtopic a couple of times.

Yeah but the problem here is LOTR movies were actually good..

Lost was great, mostly at least. Been watching battlestar galactica lately and it's freaking awesome. From anime, Gundam 00 and Full Metal Alchemist were very good.
