A lot of these melodies and soundscapes are just so soft, rich and pure. For me, you have to be in the right mindset to get the most out of it, it works as background music, but then you lose all what makes this so special. But when I get to be in that mindset and I listen to this, it dwells into my subconscious mind and makes me feel and see things. Ra - 9th is really a marvel in the modern psytrance business, in my honest opinion. The sound and soul is just like from the 90's GOA-trance period, but with the modern production. A rare sight.

Looking for new/old school goa trance like filteria
Penzoline replied to Panike's topic in General Psytrance
There's not really any artists that have the same style as Filteria but there are others that are as fast Mindsphere - Inner Cyclone for one http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/mindsphere-inner-cyclone/ -
3:25 old school man!! This is so nice.

Not sure what it means to me but it made my life a lot more interesting to be frank. I was never exited about music except few rare occasions, nowadays I get all kiddy whenever someone announces a new Goa album. There's so much more depth to this music that whenever I listen to it, I just kinda lose myself in in it. It blocks a lot from my head and at the same time gives me a lot of ideas.

Aww I saw a thread made by you and the first thing that came to my mind "Finally something new from DAT!!!" How wrong was I Sounds beautiful, will take a listen.

So why exactly did the old masters conform to Full-on?
Penzoline replied to Penzoline's topic in General Psytrance
I really guess it's the money is issue then. I just don't see why even one of them couldn't have at least tried some new goa, at least they wouldn't lose their face/rep doing so. Man, they're both almost as bad I honestly agree. They're so predictable, boring and un-interesting most of the time. I really wish at least 1 legendary old school artist would have the balls to make some new goa.. -
Shit. This music is so fucking awesome.

So why exactly did the old masters conform to Full-on?
Penzoline posted a topic in General Psytrance
Pleiadians, Cosmosis, MFG, Total Eclipse, Electric Universe you name it, they all conformed to what the scene had become. Why was it so impossible to create new goa-trance for them? Pleiadians I understand, it lost it's members and they were able to cash in on the name, but honestly, I hate to see them ruin their name with full-on. Granted, the full-on these artists make is not necessarily bad, but I for one detest that rolling ugly bassline that sticks out like a sore thumb, so much that I don't want to listen to the rest of the music. -
Usually agree with you on everything but, here, I respectfully disagree. I think Universe 13 is a fantastic track. I see little details everywhere and the ambience is so alien that it makes me wonder where in the universe did the Pleiadians make this - Universe 13 perhaps? Whatever is the case, its a very story-telling track. I think this album is in the top tier what goatrance achieved in the 90's, up there with the other classics like Shakta - Silicon Trip, Hallucinogen - Twisted, Crop Circle - Tetrahedron and I.F.O. It's impossible to deny that. I think F.O.L. just got more crap than usually because it was the follow up of the most beloved album in the whole Goa-trance history and didn't completely live up to the hype/name because the style changed a little. Edit: I need to add some of these basslines are so cool. They aren't typical hitting basslines, but dimm and dark that just make the atmosphere that much more darker. Moon In Your Window is just amazing here, the way it rolls and revs like an engine. So cool.

PharaOm - Awakening Bodhisattva EP (UAFR003)
Penzoline replied to Imba's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
That 1st track is a gem. The last 2 ain't bad, although not very exciting either, but that 1st one, really, really good. -
Moon (2009) is up there, what a beautiful mashup of 2001: A Space Odyssey & Solaris with a 5 million dollar budget.

Are there any Videos existing of Etnica/Pleiadians/CropCircle performing live pre-2000? Or interviews for that matter... -
Heh, rghost.. Tracklist looks good, will take a listen! And for single file or split files, I have no idea, I've only heard single file mixes till now. Edit: Hm I like this split approach, it's not a hassle to find out who's track which was lol
