Review thread could use more reviews too http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?/topic/62532-portamento-the-portal/

From the top of my head, Sky Technology's album and the next Cronomi releases. Also the goa VA from Global Sect. Otherwise I can't really name anything at this point. Anyone know if there's gonna be more Fragletrollet? On the psytrance front there's not much I'm waiting except hidden gems I guess. Ahahahah.

Ibizarre Digital - The Morphogenetics
Penzoline replied to draeke's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
Damn you, I said I'd never buy mp3's again but this really is unavailable just about everywhere and I loved the track on your mix. Decisions, decisions.. -
Nice, hope it'll be soon. Are you affliated with Hado more than just sharing banners btw? You russian labels are so mysterious lol. p.s. hat's off to you for picking Travma - Tesla and remastering it. It sounded so horrible on suncokreti but musically it's a blast.

support and make popular old and new artists
Penzoline replied to radi6404's topic in General Psytrance
Well yeah that is a different subject, but it all comes from the same thing. Maybe we wouldn't need more listeners if more of the current one's actually paid a little for what they consume. There's very little money being spent at psytrance from avid listeners. I don't condone piratism as "heathen, burn him", I'm pretty sure most here are "quilty" of it, but the thing is, if you truly enjoy something so much, why is it so impossible to at least give some money in the scene? Definitely not saying buy every release you ever listened to, but if you honest to god enjoy something a lot why not give a bit of money for their hard work in return? It's too often just take and don't give. For the longest time I thought I would never buy an album, but I want the goa scene to grow, trying to do my part even with my limitations. It's not exactly about buying, but about supporting the thing you enjoy financially for it to be able to continue and maybe grow. Again I'm just generalizing here, not directed at anyone in particular and exceptions do exist. -
support and make popular old and new artists
Penzoline replied to radi6404's topic in General Psytrance
I really don't like when I hear "I don't want them to make more money or get more popular, that degrades the quality" - so what, you rather have them not make anything and have very little to no motivation to keep going? That also degrades the quality. I don't want psytrance to become over-consumed crap either, but I would like to see the artist benefit more from it. Now how can that work when most of the listeners aren't actually doing their part at all? If you've never bought a new CD, consider make some donations, just anything that could help. It's a huge gap from listening to buying, but whatever little you can do for whatever little sums you can spare, considering it. Just saying "herp derp, I don't want them to get more money and I won't give them any either, but I'll consume it freely", is morally just messed up. Little is still something. It might be enough. But I'm interested in what the 90's offered to artists like Etnica and others, who made such ridiculously good music and managed to keep going. Did CD sales give them a fair share back then or was it the amount of parties that made them the money that kept them going? Because I know for a fact that they wouldn't have done what they did for nothing. Without the typo, of course, I whole heartedly agree. That is one of the worst. Taste is taste, but everyone can broaden their musical ear regardless. -
Hmh, that sounds pretty good actually, aside from the horrendous quality. The sitars are pretty incredible. Too bad that album will never happen.

There's so many on the same level, but if I have to choose one, it's always going to be Pleiadians - Maia. No other track is so near absolute perfection as that is. The composition is wondrous. The icing on the cake is the fact that the intro is just simple acid that eventually evolves into a massive entity of sounds, melodies, atmospheres that launch the listener to places they've never been to. I seriously would love to step into the collective mind of the creators of the track back when they were making it. How is it even possible to create something like Maia? I just don't understand. And the same people also brought us all of the incredible journeys found in Etnica/Pleiadians/Crop Circles discographies. Intense Visitation, Tribute, Celaeno... Just thinking about the achievements of these people. There were many others who did incredible things, but to me this group is absolutely special, they were the one's who really perfected the sci-fi/alien/other world sound. Many of their tracks are aural movies. I wonder if they still have that brilliance in them, tucked away, somewhere... Man this got a little out of hand, I guess whenever I sit down and think about it, it just blows my mind again and again.

Lack of tracklist isn't very inviting but I'll take a peek! I'm almost done listening to this.. can you post a tracklist? I'd love to especially know what the track at 38:00 is. Some awesome stuff here that I've never heard. Make more mixes using more obscure/unknown tracks!

I kind of ignored this for a while, but ever since i put it on my mp3 I've been dream-walking. I'll have to write some sort of a review for this one day.

Reminds me a little of Sky Technology. The melodies seem super ethnic. I like that there are more people who experiment on it, but to be successful you have to filter some stuff out and be very careful with choosing melodies, a couple were iffy whilst a couple worked very well. This actually sounds like nitzhogoa with a lot more emphasis on goa-like production. Interesting to say the least! Let's see how it turns out to be.

Damn look at the tracklists on soundcloud! When the heck is this coming out?
-
Pretty must all goa post-2000, excluding the earlier releases.
-
I'll admit I haven't given Talpa enough playtime but the samples here sound pretty nice.

Well from the current looks of it we are slowly going towards the right direction. Just need some labels and more artist to release different styles rather than almost exclusively uplifting. Hope it won't slow down, at least. And I really don't mean to trash on previously free releases, but new free releases seem to be having more and more quality than they did before.

Yes, very awesome! I'd like to see more of these

You hover over your portrait on SC2 and it says the friend code or whatever. Otherwise I won't be able to add you. Wait why is artosis and tasteless there too? Instead of them casting the GSL code S, we get some random caster and doa..

The groups are really well split with the best players. There's a major pro for almost every group lol. Probably end up seeing the common players in top 10 again. But please, for the love of god, HAYPRO AKA BANJO MUST WIN THIS! P.s. what's your SC2 name/char code?
-
Holy crap he's come far from the 90's goa scene lol Goa Gil is a part of Avatar Records so it could be found in their catalog, maybe. Don't recognize the first track and the 2nd track reminds me of enichkin but I could be totally wrong, too.
