What music are you listening to right now?
furthur replied to Sputum Rotgut's topic in General Psytrance
pitch black - electric earth -
ever heard of constructive criticism? it is completely up to the artists how they create it is the completely up to the audience to voice their opinions on how to make something even better consequently, it is again up to the artist to either completely disregard the advice or to use it in some way i did not get the impression that cinos was bashing someone for using the same samples as simon; i thought he was bashing all artists (simon included) for using sample cd's i will go further and bash all sample use altogether where samples with words are concerned, i am totally against that as that narrows down the interpretability of the message in the music on the other hand, i love pure vocal samples where the human voice is used as an instrument, where the sample is music on its own so here, there is no problem in using the sample in a creative way, as long as it is creative, and it definitely can be this way (eg. dj shadow whose music is all made up of cut-up old records). if it is creative, the samples will not remind us of anything we have heard in the past as they will be totally woven into the whole my rant of the day

try mum's yesterday was dramatic, today is okay but one has to really listen to it, if played in the background and not payed attention to, it sounds boring

i voted very good year cannot compare it to any other years 2004 was what it was and 2005 was what it was, why compare? i have at least 1 trance album that i really enjoyed in 2005 and many many danceable chillout albums from 2005 that rock my world, so i am very happy, therefore, very good year of course, it will never be like 1989 again, but then again do we really want another tribe called quest debut album?
-
umm, this is not true i once had one of our parties advertised on isra and no israelis were involved did you even look at the results i am not saying that my taste is superiour to yours, but i agree that jaia is one of the more interesting trance albums of the year, and i do not do speed nor coke, nor am i 15 years old; and i would poke jaia, ticon and shpongle with sticks, if they wanted me to.

While all the albums I got last year are good, some got way less playing time than others, such as Pedra Branca (I think it is from 2005); also, Autechre's untitled is less interesting imo than a lot of his previous work, sort of recycled as far as i am concerned. Antenna vol. 1 is pretty good, but for some reason it got little time from me too. While I find Puff Dragon to generally be pretty good (except for some moments), I find it far from groundbreaking as it was called in many reviews on the net. I know that PKS reads this forum, but I respect you enough to be honest, while I loved Quality Relaxation at first, I have not put it on in months, I blame the order of the tracks. Oh, as far as trance is concerned, I have not bought Benza, but have listened to it almost in its entirety many many times at the record shop in hope that I will find a tiny bit that hooks me as I absolutely love the first, but it was not to be.

for this i suggest omnimotion - omnimotion it fits the criteria better than anything else i think and the quality is sky high you can get it cheap at waveform's site

some people call certain drugs psychedelic because they bring about psychedelic states it does not necessarily mean that the only way to have a psychedelic experience is through these drugs although they do offer a shortcut sometimes
