I need a new HiFi system ... some input please?
RTP replied to RTP's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Yes @astralprojection you are right - it's, for my standards, a super awesome setup. I have great joy just listening to my tapes again - in the best sound I have ever got from them. With "surround" and "super bass" (or what it's called) on it enhances the tape sound to something of unheard quality for me... Thanks @Imba for the hint with the capacitors ... I am not very experienced with this though (2 EUR per piece is cool, but I can't solder) - and I don't need the lot of power on the amp, neighbors don't like it anyway. If the sound ever started lacking in quality, I'll look there though. cheers -
I need a new HiFi system ... some input please?
RTP replied to RTP's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Did it ... bought a Technics "HiFi system" with amp, tape deck, turntable and speakers. Speakers: SB-CS7 Amp: SU-X955 Turntable was SL-J110R ... but I'll put that one in storage, I have already a turntable there also is a receiver but I don't need it... Unfortunately it has no CD player - that hurts ... I hooked up my old DVD player and it's ok for now ... may still buy a CD player though. I checked on the web before the purchase and people (audiophiles) were saying it's not a "second coming" of a system, but it's proper and nice old stuff ... and when audio people say that, I knew it was a good decision. And in comparison to my former thing it's really great! I always thought "nah, don't need a new system, only will have problems with the neighbors" -- but a point that I was not thinking about is, how good it also sounds on low volume... Also the tape sound quality is really good ... unfortunately I have only 1 psy tape -
Hi - jep, the cost of founding - the fee - is about 100 EUR indeed for a one-man GmbH ... but for the founding it is required that a minimum of 17.500 EUR needs to be deposited somewhere (this is for a "GmbH i.G.") and the money has to be upped to 35.000 EUR once it's operational. "Stammkapital" this is called. This has not changed according to my info. Source: https://www.wko.at/service/wirtschaftsrecht-gewerberecht/vereinfachte-gruendung-gmbh.html I have, however, spoken to a good soul who was active in Austria as a label owner and he confirmed to me that I will probably be able to do this project without the hassle of founding a company and still be fully legal by stating it as a "personal project" ("Liebhaberei" in german, there's no real translation for that) - yes, I will not be able to deduce any tax from the stuff that I buy, but I will also not be liable to found a company or have any other work with it. And that's a good thing. I'll keep it transparent and re-invest what I get in future releases - or, if really successful, then I'll really found an official label ... as of now, I am very much thinking there won't be any gains and it's just going to be a fun project that will eat hopefully not the entire money away, but who knows ... let's continue this talk if I really have done this release; I have learnt that the winds can change easily - one moment you are actually working up to sign a first track, next thing happening is no answer anymore

Miss Kittin is good, really good ... but she can't be compared to Aigel imo. Aigel focuses much more on voice and what you can do with it, different pronounciations of words, even in nuances ... Miss Kittin is, I'd say, rather trying not to give any pronounciations with her texts, her vocals are rather sterile - and her focus is more on electronic music, where the focus of Aigel is rather on the "rap" parts. Nothing of these has to do with shitty pop music though, I think we kinda lost the thread here Time to bring it back on track:

Reminds me of Gappeq... ...ahhh, Wirikuta Distribution ... they had this kind of style. Too bad they are no more. I never know what befell them ... some kind of fraud stuff, I heard rumours ... a pity, I should know better, they are from same country as me... But all of that is not dark to me. It's like children playing around with bed linen and pretending to be ghosts. It's nothing compared to real ghosts. Nah, the stuff that I find dark is different. It doesn't come "boo" in your face, it rather is characterized by an unsettling tone or atmosphere in the music. This one I found dark ... this middle part, it's like you're standing at the edge of a void and can hear the distant laments of the poor souls that were sucked into it ... is that what a vacuum is like? Maybe... And this one is "dark" too, in a different kind of way: And this one is an especially sublime track and video, especially if you'd like to extend the view a little bit towards the borders of Psytrance and what lies beyond ... dark to the bone, I would say - so dark and "forbidden" (I imagine ) that TMO will never perform it live in this form again, at least they say so: (and yeah, if you liked that, This Morn' Omina has a lot more to offer...) But all in all, the last track proves, when you search for "darkness", _psytrance_ is not the area where you'll find plenty of it, in my opinion. "Dark psytrance" to me feels like driving fast by car through a bad neighbourhood - it's all fine unless you stop at a red light -- which I won't do ... otherwise you get mugged. But it has to do with what an individual percieves as "dark" or "menacing". In the techno thread, @Padmapani had recommended me one track that hit a nerve in me: that was really dark ... to me. Others may call that one out with "children playing ghosts" like I called the other "darkpsy" tracks out. I think it's a highly individual thing, everybody has his or her own fears and nervous edges.

Hehe ... yeah, I do hope that too! And maybe we even will be a little bit lucky. However, I don't wanna wake hopes in you that don't work out in the end. In case I get to know something, I'll surely post it here though

exactly the same with me here

Nine months later... ... I have not given up. I think I now have the definitive idea. I am going to name it "The Psynews Anniversary Series". And it's going to be a series of 12" releases with 2 tracks each, mostly. The big advantage is, that this way the project is sliced into tiny enough chunks that I can manage it comfortably. I will start with the first vinyl with "my own favourite artists" basically, and then I may broaden it and also listen to suggestions ... point is always: if I get the money back from the release, then imma go do a "next one". My prophecy is that it's going to be stuck already with the first one, hehe, but we'll see -- other outcome is that it'll be going well and this will be the Genesis of RTP Records!! The project shall be completely private in the first stage -- "RTP's Private Release" basically. I will license the tracks privately and then do a private "giveaway" of the release to the users in exchange for an equal part of the cost ... think like 20 EUR per vinyl plus shipping. There will be no actual SALE. I want to avoid having to found a company (it needed to be a GmbH in Austria if I don't wanna be liable with my own private money if somebody breaks the vinyl and cuts his neck with it or suffocates with the wrapping plastic - and to found a GmbH I need 35.000 EUR which I ofc don't have)...

I need a new HiFi system ... some input please?
RTP replied to RTP's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
That's cool ... mine won't be that cheap, but since I need more than just the amp, I decided to look for a more complete system ... and I currently have set my eyes on a Technics one ... will be amp, receicver (which I absolutely don't need) and a tape deck ... CD player still needs to be sorted ... I hope Technics is a good brand, I only know them because of their direct drive turntables -
YES there is the plan to revive the contest - I was busy with the rules till recently ... will see, maybe we can launch this... Huh, it worked for me ... I just copypasted the link text. Browser: Firefox Listened to it. It's cool stuff so far - instant idea: Take @Veracohr 's track, enrich it with @Psychedelic Superbeast 's melody number 3 from the first video (the one that starts at 0:39 ... you might have to adapt the tonal relation though so that it matches) ... and the whole thing might develop into something more goatrancey in the progress of the track, ideas for that are still missing in my head though... I need to get a Cubase (I only can work with Cubase, we used it for Skeletone - but my mate is decomissioning the sudio and takes the Cubase dongle with him, it's his) to be able to participate in this (which I'd be up to) ... and I need to go for a legal one. I'll see what I can afford ... have to get an audio system first ... one after the other

Do you have a recommendation on a really calm ambient album to sleep to
RTP replied to psytones's topic in Other Electronica
@WarpedMind guess what, I have developed the same problem ... I can't sleep to drone or dark ambient anymore, I get feelings of uneasiness ... can't even do psy ambient anymore, it makes me sad and feel alone ... but, joy of joys, I have found exactly what is needed in my situation - light ambient, that is positive and on the fantasy side: The Guild of Ambience are the best. They really do this specific type of ambient, exactly what I need: no darkness, no depression. Instead, a sound so clear and crisp that you almost begin to smell that mountain air... They also have ASMR noise of old mansions with howling wind and rain - or ships with their creaking wood and gentle rolling waves ... I really like to sleep to these sounds aswell... I'm recommending that Guild especially because their productions have a degree of warmth and gentle mastering, that is very suitable for my ears. -
Yeah, that one is good - as in: well made ... although I think you can produce a similar effect by just playing Atrium Carceri and a heavy techno piece side by side. I have to say, however, I don't like the dark vibe so much that engulfs this piece ... to me the noisy tracks are dark aswell, but they sound like the composer is still willing to live and change something in the world, that it doesn't stay like that - and be it only dancing ... dark pieces like this one, however, have a sort of resignation in the vibe - it feels like the composer has given up hope ... and that's what drags me down along with it. It's a personal issue though...

That's a good one ... will remember AnD
-
And here's a really cool one ... it's these tracks that actually interest me the most, those that not only touch, but also cross the border between Techno and Industrial / Noise ... Ah-Cama Sotz did it: you can feel it has less bass, but far more bite in the noise - this is what I am after
-
I liked Techno before getting into Trance ... but that phase didn't last long, I practicaly only listened to Mauro Picotto I was 15 and had no budget for any more releases, so forgive me the very restricted musical scope Nowadays I'm rediscovering Techno myself ... I especially like the harder and more industrial stuff... I got these recommendations ... from hard (dark?) towards more "light" stuff: second of these is my favourite, does anybody have some similar ones?

hmmm ... my heart thinks, you are looking for StrangeZero ... they are not completely beatless, but fabulous, please check them out here is a beatless track (ambient mostly) and here is a not beatless, but in my opinion much better one: and if you like The Herb Garden, you'll love them ... I once said, on here, something along the lines of "they are like The Path that Carbon Based Lifeforms should've taken" (yes, the path with a capital T and P as an insider ) oh yes and Carbon Based Lifeforms - or CBL - is another suggestion, but that's ambient or psybient ... and you said you don't want that...
-
Hey I love The Streets ... but I like the more gritty side of them: or this one: this sounds like it's going with me when I'm drunk ... without the mushrooms of course...
-
three words: Finntroll new album should be out soon
-
I think the "other art" was just movies and literature ... so merging that with OT was the right thing to do. For that what you _probably_ mean with art, you could use the "visual promotion" forum if you had art to post that's at least related to psychedelic trance... I have no idea, sorry

Thanks I think I'll go for the old option. Already contacted a first seller ... lets see what it brings. I have a phono preamp though. Will keep you posted -
I need a new HiFi system ... some input please?
RTP replied to RTP's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Great, thanks for the input - I see that I have two ways to go now: old way = used equipment: old amp and old CD player ... plus some old passive speakers that are nice new way = active monitors and some CD player gear... I'd appreciate some hints for the old amps - I have litterlally no clue about that stuff -
yeah that was a good one, I knew this track for a long time ... used it as a comedown / chiller after sports... @recursion loop and @Padmapani the track "Accessoire" is 7 years old actually, since it was posted on Human Blue's own Soundcloud 7 years ago, which I - funnily enough - only just realized Actually there's more there aswell: There he's also writing something about a new album ... but I don't really buy these news. It was the same with S-Range ... there's no new album legally out till now... But we have to be thankful to Bakke and Iboga Records that this Human Blue track is finally released...

That was unnecessary ... you're lucky that Loop took it cool. My thumbs up for that! @Tsotsi you did well there - I could listen to more of these. I think for doing this, you need a personality that's suitable for video making - and you have that ... I don't know if I have that personality, I probably am more suitable for interviews and asking questions... All the best! I hope that you will do more of these. AstralSphinx's list is a good suggestion if you were looking for any
