  1. Well, that went well so far, didn't it? .... NOT To be fair, I don't think it was my fault entirely, I could have been way more of a sting in the flesh for some people on my part, but I wouldn't have felt good doing it. I'd have released a Magnetrixx track, but he vanished ... Etnoscope went completely No Answer (yes, that's a track from them and I did that remark for the pun, but it's true) ... and S-RANGE has no new material for me till now. I have come to the conclusion that I will just let that release project chill and do it differently from now on, maybe dig up some lost material that's lying around here and gradually upload some stuff, not commercially and only as long as nobody opposes... Usually things go better when you don't wanna enforce them. And if not, I have my peace with it anyway If anybody wants to release stuff on Spotify, itunes, YouTube --> hit me up, I can arrange it, I still got the distribution account. But I'm not enforcing anything. cheers and have a good one -- I leave this thread online as a reminder for myself
  2. Yes, here are the links from @Lightforce's first post, they are still active: Here is the link for the English version: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4hr2pdwhonek82o/Psytrance (EN).pdf?dl=0 Here is the link for the (original) French version: https://www.dropbox.com/s/q84tbn46xrmmgji/Psytrance.pdf?dl=0
  3. Dargaard will be for you if you are after the calmer side. Great project, female singer in it. Here is an album: But actually I have thought about this more. And I can come up with more. And as much as I would like to "flesh out" suggestions that go into the Tolkien influenced metal direction (Summoning, big love of mine) ... the statement about "Trip Hop" doesn't let go of me. In the end, it really depends on what one is after. Maybe that Dargaard recommendation was all wrong for you? @acid beingwhat are you after? The female voice? The music? The atmosphere? When it's the female voice, purely, you will indeed find more in the TripHop area. Hooverphonic maybe. Bunny Situation. That's for me all 10 years old though ... my TripHop period is long over When you are after the music, you probably will struck gold in the Gothic realm. There are some with female voices. I don't know much Gothic (rather like the EBM), but maybe you like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QDRJlM11XA Or maybe check out Ladytron. That's a quite good band! Night Club aswell ... "Dear Enemy" ... awesome ... I think that might be the one you even like most... Should also mention Fever Ray For "metal / rock with female voice that sounds interesting" I can suggest you Closterkeller. Most of the songs are in polish language though. For some other wildcards, I could recommend you Eivør, stunning singer from Färöer islands ... or Aigel ( АИГЕЛ ) which is probably classified as HipHop, rather spoken than sung, but with a very skillful voice -- this I find pretty stunning, I hope you agree: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiZMGztIRKs Sorry if that was too much
  4. Your descriptions and suggestions made me think of this ... you could maybe like it: ... not metal, but will appeal to metalheads... Let me know what you think of it
  5. His nick was radi6404 ... which I always found funny because it apparently was no mistyping, he meant it that way and used that nick on other platforms too, Isratrance for example. I agree that some of his comments were - most harmlessly spoken - "kinda strange", but over the years I have developed a genuine like for his obsession with highways, mostly because I had to travel more around Austria in my (back then) new job and got to see a fair lot of these roads myself. I have absolutely no clue what became of him, sadly
  6. Heh, I am no more than a Periphery label aswell Very fine for me though either way - for your art, you are the Creator and you decide where it's released But you didn't say no, or did you? (on a serious note, from now on I may just contact good people left and right with the same question if they have no label yet, just saying)
  7. Nice tune! You make good stuff -- I already knew that some time ago. Hey @MikroMakro do you maybe want to be on Spotify? I could probably arrange it for you and won't charge you anything - rather the other way round (but bear with me ... we'd need to work something out). You'd have to release on "RTP Records" though.
  8. I am afraid I don't know that On my side it displays all the old emojis like before. I could imagine that they do some trickery with apple now though.
  9. I'd like to add: you can also donate us BAT (these are earned by just using the BRAVE browser, which rewards you if you activate ads ... this way empowering you and only you with the decision on who should receive ad rewards - we would be happy if you chose us...)
  10. I checked with Mars and it was no exploit ... it were indeed technical problems, caused by an update -- the very thing that should protect us from exploits... Not gonna bore you with the details. I am super glad that we got this back to a working state.
  11. Hello everybody hooray, we've had new technical issues Since the last update, I could not post anymore. I investigated the problem, found out it concerned all message fields. I switched to about 4 browsers, it didn't go away ... I figured that it must be the editor, so I now disabled all customizations for the editor ... and it seems to work again now, at least for me. I don't know if anybody else experienced the same problem. Let me know. Also, feel free to let me know any stuff that's still broken ... I'll do my best to get back to you cheers RTP

    Here's one for you:
  13. ... and the Necro of the Month award goes to ... Can I ask: how did you dig this up ... did you search or did you have a list somewhere in your pocket that this question is still unanswered? The post from Otto Matta up there was worth digging up though I can't contribute to the topic, sorry...
  14. I'd celebrate that Do we have any more crazy old fellas in our scene? I think with most people, with age they go out less. It will hit us too. But these ones ... mad respect for carrying on
  15. Hi, Komet Bernhard ... andybody know this guy? A Berlin legend. I think he and Raja Ram should go for a beer. (please use auto-generated subtitles with auto-tranlate to enjoy)
  16. He sings like HEDNINGARNA know them?
  17. Hi - thanks for stopping by For me personally it's good to hear that you will stay true both to the old school and to the new sound. It also will be easier for me to recommend this to others than if it was pure old school ... I know purists on here LOVE that old school sound ... but it's more easy to connect people with the other tracks, I would say... I'll note that kick plugin ... will check it out.
  18. I have registered, that this section meanwhile contains so many promotion posts, that I am going to establish the following rule: I only allow ONE promotion thread per member anymore when it comes to the vendors of sample packs, sample sounds, VSTs and all that. I am sick of the current situation, that we pay the hosting of this site out of our own pockets and thus practically pay about 60% for others' promotion threads. I will gradually clean up this section and put all monetary content promotion into single threads and if you have more promotion to post, then use your thread and do not create new ones. This section should be for discussion and dialogue with people who produce music and not serve as a collection of promo threads. thanks for your consideration (This of course does not affect any artist or label announcements! We want to be here for artists, creators and listeners, more than ever before.)
  19. Hi folks, as you may know, I have a studio project together with a friend (who does most of the work - I'm just the creative input saying "it would sound cool if you put that there" ). We have just finished a new track - or, more like a beta version I would say. Nevertheless it's probably better than most of what we did before ... and we are finally back to psytrance, so I figured I might ask here if anyone has feedback for us or if you wanna know something, I'm happy to share as much as I still remember It's not out of possibility that we might tweak this further ... but I figured that I might ask for feedback before we do so - why not...? We called it the "Advanced Dealer" And even if you got no feedback, then: enjoy and cheers
  20. I would like to hear that too! Maybe @mars or @Global Sect have his contact info and can point him to this thread? That would be b e a u t i f u l
  21. Hello Jon Cocco! It's a delight for me that I have the pleasure to comment on a review of yours, I think this is a first I almost missed this delightful album due to the drama caused by Psychedelic Superbeast. Man, that put me off ... I completely forgot about it - until I finally got shown the beauty by having discovered one of the tracks in @Basilisk's "Saturnine Exapnsion" mix ... there he put the Divine Plan in -- which I discovered after a few hits'n'misses guessing the track from the list -- and that got my attention, because it was my favourite track in that mix. So I checked the album out and found the thread again. Thus, I am now the excavator of this topic ... but it's not that long anyway... I come to a truly interesting conclusion: I seem to be attracted particularly to the tracks which you find weaker (Apex is an exception - I am with you on that). Not only it is for my mind easier to follow the more simplistic structure, I also would feel that in the simpler tracks there is more "light" in the air, more uplifting feel and I like that more than the "complexity bonus" of the tracks that you point out as more interesting for you. I'm a huge, huge fan of Astral Traveler (candidate for best track on album for me), I like Dreamland a very big lot (reminds me of modern Astral Projection), Solar Warden is also very very good for me -- and then my euphoria kinda takes a break, only to return for Divine Plan (second candidate for best track on album for me). Tracks 5 to 8 are in NO WAY bad, don't get me wrong. They are very good! It's just that on my personal level, I feel more attracted to the aforementioned ones than to the others. I think I have a somewhat high sensitivity towards these "more goa power" tracks and they tend to contain too much energy for me. Which is why I always approach real oldskool Goa Trance with a certain respect mentally, knowing of its power. My consumption of real old school Goa was and is scarce, in the past I had compilations, not albums ... which facilitated the practice to make breaks between tracks ... and I had the fortunate case to pretty soon drop into that pocket dimension of old progressive, where I have built my mental hideout and where my mind is not exposed to so many sound stimuli Fun fact: the first Filteria album I may have played only twice or three times - once, deeming it too strong ... and then saving it up for migraine attacks (I can guarantee this technique has a profound effect, I can see music in geometric forms and in colours when on a migraine). So, actually it's GOOD in my perspective that this is a more accessible album than the first by Artifact 303. I personally might probably not have enjoyed it that much if it wasn't. Anyway, maybe my ramblings can contribute to enrich the dialogue and see something positive in the fact that the album may not be as "intense" (?) as you have hoped...? I also like the tenth track by the way Summing up: it's a phenomenal album for me and I LOVE it - albeit maybe not for the same reasons as others on here
  22. We could arrange a wedding for them. Maybe they show up?
  23. In case you're interested, you can try look up some stuff from the old demo scene - they were very good in that: tweaking the maximum out of old hardware. If we had this level of tinkering right now, I'm sure the results would be jaw dropping... But sadly the development has been going in the opposite direction - maybe also due to shorter attention spans. People quickly jump on the next train. Maybe there's a small localized hype if somebody came out with a real innovation in our scene, but I guarantee it will be soon forgotten or replaced by the next trend -- which is very odd, because this scene usually never cared about such things as "trends".
  24. True, so true! I have registered that phenomena already years ago ... and it's not that cheesy "in the old times it was all better" rambling, there really is something to it. I meanwhile have dedicated a huge part of my free time to FIND interesting music - music that is modern (more or less) and still has the innovation, energy, zest and vibration to keep ME going. It is not limited to psytrance, I threw that overboard long time ago. Even when broadening the spectrum to all styles I can say it is NOT easy. I am very picky. I also have a theory why modern stuff tends to be in worse quality that goes beyond the simple explanation, that "people like older stuff better because they might connect it to positive experiences": I think it's due to oversaturation with possibilities ... you can now warp sounds in ways never before possible, do this creative notion here, then do that ... I saw it with my mate in the studio. This oversaturation leads to people not going into depth of the technical options as in the times before, where there was less to do and only few manuals to read and not a truckload ... and this inevitably lowers the quality. Just like old computer programs were engineered meticulously to tickle the best out of the old (slow) hardware don't matter anymore right now because we've got huge loads of available computing power in any laptop, it's the same with the music programs and loads of VST plugins. I am quite sure there is an overload. Remember the old Silent Hill game? The black fog was a hardware limitation ... but it went so well with the game that it actually enhanced it. Life gave them lemons, but in this case they turned them into wonderful lemonade It's the limits - or more precise: the way how to deal with the limits (i.e. creativity ) - that are delivering a big part of my interest in the pieces. I like DEPTH. Diving deep into one method and not jumping around wildly off to the next when you haven't even scratched the surface... Good musicians have a way to limit themselves to fewer pieces of gear and fewer options to achieve just that: quality over quantity
