The "banned" thing is a T-Mobile issue ... it seems that T-Mobile is routing their traffic - or parts of it - across only a few adresses and if somebody on the T-Mobile network was banned chances are high that it will affect YOU too when you surf via T-Mobile. I have this issue frequently in other applications with only and exclusively T-Mobile Sorry nothing I can fix Edit: the Chrome thing may be a variation of this issue as I think Chrome is syncing the traffic ofer a handful of IPs aswell to get better and faster browsing ... just speculation though?

Correct, PSY already exists ... with the name "Psilocybin" (however, no news about it since mid 2015 ... it's pretty much dead) We must name our coin GOA then ... that is still available Or Darkpsy (DPS) ... Progressive (PGR) ... Hitech (HIT) ... ewww hitech ... anyway don't worry we find a name and three letters, won't be that hard for a man with a three letter nick But regardless of the name, if there's not a meaningful use case, the coin will die sooner or later. No intrinsic value will just make this thing careless. What can we do with it? The only idea I have, which is almost too complex for my taste though, is to make this thing a token for contributions to the scene and make it redeemable for "things the scene can do for you". For example, some artists can make their albums downloadable legally for tokens, some party organizers can make the entry fee payable in tokens ... and so on. Problem though is, who decides whom to give the tokens and so forth. Make them buyable in the form of an ICO? That's shameless in my opinion, just tieing it to greedy money ... money always fosters greed, everywhere. But completely without money it won't work ... who's gonna pay the running costs, servers and whatnot. It would be a legitimate thing that people who run the servers get a reward for it in tokens, but other than that, what can make you earn these tokens? As harsh as it sounds, what separates the people who have tokens from those who don't? Contibutions to the scene, aye, but who decides what is a meaningful contribution - a jury? Oh come on, seriously? What if the jury disagrees? The boldest thing would be a festival that you can only go to when you pay in tokens. That would give them a value. But how elitist is that? Just thinking out loud though. Got a better idea? Or something you see more positively in that idea than me?

Thanks ... the NA-HAG one is great! And the Poordream I like a lot too. Celldweller I know well - great stuff, but too little tribal for my taste ... and the first one is nice but it doesn't spark me like TMO... keep 'em coming But I have to admit, nothing ever gets close to Ulf Söderberg ... or Sephiroth ... the guy I recommended in my first post in this thread. And if Lumpi was still reading here I'd recommend ULF SÖDERBERG - INLAND to him (yeah that's right, Ulf Söderberg made a new album, but the info about this is scarce ... I got the little fragments of information that I have about it from youtube ... the Inland CD was a jubilee release for 30 years CMI and only released in little quantity ... we might never get our hands on it, like with the rest of his music by now )... I think it's just my fate that my favourite artists only ever so scarcely release something ... it's no different with S-Range, Astral Projection, Etnoscope(*) ... Matenda ... Front 242 ... even Mortiis ... why should it be any different with Ulf Söderberg... *sigh* RTP likes it - great, let's trickle our releases from now on. My curse. TMO are the noble exception. (*) not counting their Soundcloud

Hey Swedish rap (I hope it's Swedish and you don't kill me) is cool I like the Swedish language. I do not understand a word, but towards me it emits a strange kind of peace. But I have to admit, the Swedish language fits best to women singing ... with a clear, elven-like voice ... I might one day make a thread... Back to topic The stuff I recommend (most of it) has the aggression I miss in the swedish stuff: In my h00d there are the Vamummtn which used to be quite good... (OK the melody is stolen, but he compensates with skill, you have to admit) They have lots more and are quite good, but you won't understand a thing when you don't speak geman You will probably dig this more ... the guy is from Baden ... not the h00d but really not far away, just a short "tram" ride: but nobody can hold a stand against these guys from LINZ (ey, Linz is not my h00d but Austria's so small it can almost count as it ) ... they are just the best ... dialect rap like a shotgun "Dei Haus wird gschützt und bewocht wia a G8 güpfe, owa vü hots ned gnutzt wö i steh am Doch und loch du züpfe!" = your house is protected and guarded like a G8 summit, but that didn't help much because I stand on the roof and laugh, you dick

Hello people, I am just doing loud thinking here ... and looking for opinions, nothing too serious, but keeping my mouth shut and telling nobody won't help either. I'm sure the whole blockchain hype as of late has reached you too ... with that I mean, I think you know what a crypto coin is. There are loads out there ... Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dash, Monero, bla bla... It was all going pretty steeply down lately, but so what. This doesn't need to have any effect on what I want to talk about here. Point is, these crypto currencies - or BLOCKCHAIN APPLICATIONS - are not that hard to create oneself, where "creating" means, starting a new chain of an existing coin implementation with own Masterkey or even own implementation constraints (got ideas, let 'em hear). Which is what could be done (Cryptonote for example ... they offer a forkable base cryptocoin implementation for a CryptoNote based coin). And that brings me to the question: do we need one? Does the Psytrance scene have use for it? We could make the PSY coin! #PSYcoin We actually just need a few machines in the cloud that play main nodes ... a few members with Google Cloud accounts would be sufficient to keep it running for a year for free. So we could make the PSYcoin ... but ... what for? -> Money shall not be the reason. There are already enough other crypto currencies for that purpose. Let's think usability. What could this scene use a crypto coin for? What shall we do with it? The best would be if we had some kind of anchor that the coin can be tied to. In the IT scene it's for example memory (cloud storage) ... you provide memory (storage), get some coins for that ... and at a later stage you can spend these coins if you need memory (storage) yourself. What do we have in the psy scene that compares to this? Or maybe we don't need a coin? That's a valid result too! Opinions? PSYcoin. Made in Austria.

Have anyone else tried to relisten his entire collection?
RTP replied to Ormion's topic in General Psytrance
Hehehe, here we have something that's not a problem for me, because I ain't got that many CDs and vinyls Lemme count ... it's approximately 200 CDs. That's way doable. And vinly is way less, maybe 30 to 40 pieces. But because of the small collection, I have listened to every piece already. And I don't think there's anything I only listened to once. Mostly more often. I think I'll pass Never thought that a small collection will pay off one day, haha -
... better late than never ... congratulations - on another 18 years

The future of Psytrance (2017 edition) ... "warmed up re-releases"?
RTP replied to RTP's topic in General Psytrance
That's perfect - I hope this will become the new trend, so we can slip in later for free for the "dessert" artists I did something like that at a metal concert some time ago ... wanted to see only one band, did not want to pay the ticket, gambled that they'd play last (and I was right) and sneaked in during the half of the concert since the people at the gate didn't check the tickets so eagerly anymore... Maybe that is our future of music ... drop by for half a gig because the rest doesn't interest us? -
The future of Psytrance (2017 edition) ... "warmed up re-releases"?
RTP replied to RTP's topic in General Psytrance
Ha, thanks for the update - I wondered what you decided. I think it's cool that you went there! True about the price ... Vienna is a lot more expensive. Here you pay 20 Euros for Tristan alone - and maybe even only if you buy the ticket in advance ... and this is why I am, like you, not going often to psy parties anymore - have only been to 2 this year, like you before. This is utterly horrible to watch. Also the mindless people who scream for more ... but hey, even they don't cheer so loud after some time anymore... We should make a project that makes tracks that only consist of such breaks. 2 hours just like this, swoosh, swoosh, riser, riser, three seconds of kicks, break, two seconds fast kicks, then repeat and swoosh again. All that garnished with nightcore vocals. Wonder how famous we get with that ... problem is, I will puke within the first hour- but hey, we can make a show out of it -
@Richpa ... There is a possibility to exchange the icon for every forum, but you have to do it by hand for every single one and there is no setting for the "no new posts" version, it will be just the same image but a little faded out ... I have doubt that it's worth the effort...

The future of Psytrance (2017 edition) ... "warmed up re-releases"?
RTP replied to RTP's topic in General Psytrance
Thank you for these two horrible tracks ... I now know that I am not missing out such a lot by not going much to parties anymore. Safe the artists I already know, the density of "good stuff" that keeps coming has decreased to some quite little. Never thought I'd say that one day. But the future is bright - there's still lots of (electronic) music to discover for me! It may not always be on the "psy" side of genre, but psy enough for me that I like to listen to it... Anyway: Linz? I would go there and do it the way I always do these days: plan it notoriously and show up only for Tristan (which, by the way, is a fair game priced at 20 Euro) ... that is, if there was a timetable. If there was no timetable and no way I could find out when Tristan plays (sometimes the timetable is posted at the event and you have to wait till the last minute), I'd just stay home. Welcome to my future by the way. I almost only do it like that anymore when I go to a bigger gig (which already has become seldom enough) ... planning with the timetable. Sometimes I even come by car - and drive home after the act I wanted to see... -
The future of Psytrance (2017 edition) ... "warmed up re-releases"?
RTP replied to RTP's topic in General Psytrance
This track has been released in 2008 as I read up :-D Fell for it. On second thought: Warmed up Re-releases? Is that, in fact, the future? It seems it is. Did it fool you too? (sorry for the editing mess - I hope no one notices ) -
(read down to the bottom of second post for explanation if you are bewildered ... like me for example) Hey Psynews folks I just stumbled upon this: (jeez I hate this huge video pop in ... darn can't change it now) This seems to be quite fresh, ain't it? Is this the direction Psytrance is going "in the future"? These days, everything is oozing of Celldweller in my Youtube suggestions... But it might be that musically I am cruising a lot in the keel waters of Celldweller, Scandroid and the rest that this guy named Klayton is putting out. I really like the music he does ... but this ... reminds me of Skazi. Which I loathed back then. Nowadays ... I even see it fitting. Kinda. Fitting to the state we are in. Is this our future? Moving closer to the cyberpunk-metal territory? We actually never were that far away were we? Is the world falling apart? Or is it just me? What is your future of psytrance in 2017?

@Paul Eye: You can make a "normal" line break by holding SHIFT and pressing Enter. If you just press Enter, a new paragraph is created. I cannot change that white text because I don't know which CSS style sheet controls it ... sorry. Maybe one other day I can fix it, but no guarantee... The DJspelling has been changed Cheers

OK, since the discussion didn't spark as I hoped, I just did it. I don't want anybody forcefully using the eye cancer bright theme if they want otherwise. So: dark skin for everybody. We are now all Blue ("BlueBoh"). Da ba dee. If anybody doesn't like the dark skin, he/she/it can change it at the bottom under the option "Theme". Since everybody had the bright theme, it should be available to everyone ... reverse logic. You are welcome to report back ... cheers!

8 years later... Anybody knows ANYTHING similar?

I find that the album is good, but not a complete highlight. I can not connect to some parts and sometimes entire tracks. "Mirage" opens up well, but after about three minutes it loses the throttle. Second track is good. I have no clue at all why it reminded me of Rinkadink's Pirate Signal track ... no clue, they sound quite different. Maybe it's just that the vibe is similar. Or maybe the melody's just in the same key? Good, but not groundbreaking. Third one has two parts that really push it forward and are awesome I'd say, but the track kinda hangs in the air in the middle ... just a trick that they have "something else" to display than the awesome part...? Anyway, good track that I won't skip. "Etropy" is a "no thanks" track for me. Doesn't catch me. Skip. "Stimulant" is good for most part, I like the voice and also I forgive that there's a bit of a lack of something because of the awesome kick. But I'm not overflowing with compliments. And then there comes "Behind The Wall". For me a masterpiece and THE reason, the only one why I would recommend this album to EVERYBODY. This track is a true bomb in my opinion, just perfect. Growling bassline like old-style progressive ... a looming dark synth over it all ... and this really well executed melody ... this track produces images, tells a story ... the bright melody as an "uprising force against the looming dark forces of government, society" (or something else if you wish) ... man, this is really great. When I run to this through the park at night, images pop out everywhere. The factories in the distance become guard towers, the looming synth becomes the pressure that society and our lives are exposed and exploited by government, police, cyber-espionage and whatnot ... spies everywhere ... and the melody becomes the light in the darkness, attempting to fight back, rise up, enlight your spirit, make you a member of "the resistance" ... and after a really interesting break that symbols something (what? think for yourself) it gets more furious, more insisting, I run faster, it gets more ferocious, more dirty, more biting, more pushing ... like a rally driver that has previously set up his car right and is now going for the special stage -- or to stay in our scenario, make it the chase that the resistance has to master to evade the bad forces ... until finally at the end it feels like "Evil" was overcome, but alack, listen close, it seems the upriser has become evil itself and the circle starts slowly to repeat - like defeating Diablo and then ramming the soul stone into your own skull - only for you to play the game again ... and to listen again to the whole amazing track. Yes, that's how you do it! Goosebumps! Plain awesome. But ... but ... why can the rest of the tracks not be like this? And here's the problem. Next track "Violent Serenity"? Yeah good, but heck ... where's the story? It's all nice and stuff ... but nothing groundbreaking. I don't have real motivation to listen through it after such a fest of awesomeness. "Ether" is, however, a nice closing. I am at peace with this one. The "Useless Loop" is ... ok ... but I kinda see it as an addition to chill down. Nothing major. Also not from the music. No goosebumps. And from that text you see the "thing" I have with it. It's a good album - with one PERFECT track (for me). Yeah. But instead of saying "it's worth the asking price" blah blah, I say: go get the track on beatport, listen to the album at a friend - job done. You don't miss out on anything major this way, at least in my opinion

This has been fixed now. Sorry guys. The forum seems to have f*ked up the permissions for that section. I have restored order now (so that everybody can reply). We definitely had members posting there in the past - don't know why it was changed. Thanks for the note :-)

Hello all I figured I might as well make a new thread when we already have a new forum ... for miscellaneous stuff, some of which may be a problem, some an issue ... and some not any of the two. Maybe we can step by step evolve together and get into this new forum software piece by piece. First, the rounded avatars ... I hate them. The setting how to change these is hidden in the "theme" settings in the ACP. I changed them to square ones in the BlueBoh skin. Let me know if that was a good idea or not... I could change them for other skins aswell maybe? Also note we have heard that some people having problems with setting the skin. Option: we set a dark skin as default for EVERYBODY. Let me know if you prefer that. I might make a poll, but can't be bothered right now.
-
that is weird and I don't know what's causing it :-/ Didn't find anything after a quick search either Maybe you wanna try out a different browser? Alternative: setting the dark skin as a default for all members ... I'm quite tempted to do that, as I think the majority would prefer it anyway... EDIT: I made a new thread for issues with the new board -- please refer to it for discussion ... because I think this will get a big topic --> https://www.psynews.org/forums/topic/73764-the-new-board-issues-and-stuff/ In this thread the only thing I wanna say is THANK YOU to the people who donated -- you surpassed even my greatest expectations as to how fast this was through. THANK YOU ALL! You are a great community and you make me proud to be part of it :-) <3

CBL - Hydroponic Garden & World Of Sleepers
RTP replied to Starkraver's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
Hey ... I didn't knew CBL moved to Blood Music ... I only recently found out and thought that was fresh news ... I'm happy for the search function - would've been embarassing if I had posted that in a new thread. Anybody knows the story behind it, I am interested. A new album is out Oct 6th btw... -
Hello sire - just to let you know, I have changed the font color in the first post to make it readable on every one of our board skins. Cheers and keep it up
