  1. Hi, this is a track that a friend of mine did, with my participation ... that thing was made long ago, but I found finally the time to post it because who knows how long Trump is still going to be "rising", huh? And we don't wanna change the title. The track might sound as awkward as the mentioned persona to some people ... but nevertheless, it's postworty I think. The product of a special moment in a looong night of music making... Subject I wanted to call "when Trump(ets) meet goatrance" ... but maybe that would have been too much ... for goa it is not - rather psytrance. But maybe you like it. Feel free to leave feedback
  2. Ha, spot on ... I came across this today. But as I got to know what it is, it struck me: "Oh noes, are we that old already that we need the "new wave" of remixes...?" Meh, not really my thing. Give me NEW albums or new tracks by these artists and I'll love it ... but rather not something that sounds like medleys that went throught the Talamasca chute - feels just like he wants to cash in on the old music... I hope this doesn't become "in". Otherwise they'll soon exhume all the old stuff and urinate on their graves...
  3. hey this is a really good track - well done! And a cool coincidence that you post here ... I sometimes listen to some of your stuff on Youtube ... you make some great remixes from video game soundtracks. Keep up the good work (and do some more UT remixes, will ya ... the Forgone Destruction remix was great - and the alternate menu theme as well, like it a huge lot more than the one they picked for the pre-alpha)... cheers
  4. Hi so I am a crazy fan of Unreal Tournament ... loved the first one, played the 2004 a lot, then played UT3 excessively on PS3, now I don't have so much time anymore, but I'm still in tune for UT4... The soundtrack of the series is phenomenal (even measured in today's standards for me) and I love it. I always wished for some psy remixes. There are plenty of remixes -- and also plenty of great ones -- but psytrance was a scarcity. But well, recently, on the search for some UT soundtrack remixes, I found that there were indeed a few good psytrance remixes done: Forgone Destruction ... a remix of a signature track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMOYx1zYWmM the one from DM-Morpheus (if you know what I mean ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_whskgBeYc Organic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcFc96t_DYY and a Razorback remix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3brqjebGIrM all done by Mothership Loudspeakerz (the member Victo_Ries, who was posting promotion about Mothership Loudspeakerz probably gonna love this now ... yea I did search through if a similar topic already existed, couldn't find one though )... They may not be perfect psytrance tracks, but I really like them because they represent Unreal Tournament and there is not much psy that does it, at least I couldn't find much. Does anybody know more?
  5. soooo great ... I can't wait this was posted today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkgR0SxmMKo  I haven't felt that energized by electronic music since the last release of an S-Range album ... which feels like AEONS ago. I will have to get that remix album on CD too...
  6. Ha! Thanks for this thread ... for me personally, Retrowave is the new hype in electronic music ... damn awesome stuff. I confess, I listen to more retro than psytrance (and all its sub forms such as prog and whatnot) these days. It gives me back the fire from the old days, the fire which used to be burning ... well, it is still burning, but not as high as before I have to say -- although I'll always be running to psy ... rtp after all Anyway: Yesss, absolutely seconded. This label is my favourite. They have released a lot of great stuff... And the Scandroid album from late 2016 is my favourite so far, even though it's got vocals which I normally don't like so much ... but I even ordered this on CD to have something physical, it's so good... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfxDIyYU9nM That production quality and the way these songs flow, in such nice harmony with the vocals is unmatched in the retro genre to me ... if you come across something similar, post it here ASAP Oh and there is an instrumental version if you don't like the vocals: https://scandroid.bandcamp.com/album/scandroid-instrumentals cheers
  7. yes sir, indeed -- and I may say, cheers to your choice, Talisker is a fine brand! (I do say that I like the days better when the 10 year old was sold at the same price ... but whatever.) With Whisky in your company, the term "goa spirit" gets a totally new meaning hehehe ... wow that's signature material right there slainte
  8. RUNNING it's in my nickname The rest ... well, surfing the web mostly ... and some time ago I did paint some, but nowadays I have no time anymore.
  9. Hiphop that I like needs to be dirty, deep and dirty like these walls full of graffiti in a dimly lit downtown alley where the dealers lean on the side... The relaxing, weed-friendly stuff never was what I liked. In Austria we have this kind of hiphop subgenre called "slangsta" which I do like ... but the problem for me is that there are not that many artists who really get me going. "Rückgrat" was awesome: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8PZs_VQasE but there is not much around anymore of this good dirty old shit I don't like the kindergarden lyrics of normal hiphop, lyrics about ho's and bitches and all that, I want lyrics that call people names and bring out the scum of mankind, in-your-face style. But even the "slangsta's" of old are nowadays quite weak... this song is a light in the tunnel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHTquW8EFA8 anyway ... if you want more, just ask, there is stuff, just hard to find. Hiphop stuff what I also like is The Streets. The older stuff from them is actually carrying the same dirty atmosphere as the good old Austrians... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MpiyqpAu-Q https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buG9fXAM0II TIGHT is the word I was looking for. So fucking tightly packed with rhymes and little stuff to discover. Loaded to the brim with dynamite. HipHop is extreme sports for me...
  10. YES -- I was going to suggest Etnoscope ... glad somebody did already! If you like percussion, there's in my opinion no way past this band. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLTB037VQZo (the track is called "Might And Magic") They do have some brighter tracks too... You can get both of their albums for free at Ektoplazm http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/etnoscope-drums-from-the-dawn-of-time http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/etnoscope-way-over-deadline
  11. okay, that's a seriously impressive collection ... respect!
  12. Yes, I know that film ... I was at the launch party for the book, there they showed it. Watched it also some time later, I think it was on youtube... I never paid much attention for the book and film though because I thought "why would I buy a book about it, I'm part of the scene anyway" ... well, now I'm a bit older and wiser and see the point, but it's too late Thanks draeke and Ormion for the other suggestions... Yeah the Texas Faggot one was awesome, thanks a ton for bringing it back to my mind Yeah Rock Bitch I posted too... but the forum didn't let me post the media, too much content and thanks for the reference, yes the first video was Shiva Shidapu - India Spirit Keep 'em coming...
  13. Hi ... I'm just riding on a retro wave right now and I'm trying to find the old stuff again ... old Goa music videos ... these videos from the past time where the scene was small and the music was still called "Goa Trance" by almost everybody ... I'm sure many of you remember. Pure Music videos were scarce in our scene, but there were a few. I tried to find stuff with the search function, but had no real luck ... maybe there is an old thread but I didn't find. I am rather specifically looking for music videos ... but if there was a really poular one from a party, please do still post (i.e. my first example) ... I am just curious of anything... I have only found a few of the videos again and don't even know if there were more ... if you do know, please help me out. Let's preserve them. The less pixels the better Here's what I dug out: "SHIVA JOERG & EREZ EIZEN INDIA 1994" ... don't know what title it had back then, I filed it under a different one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seFGf7FTq94 Banco De Gaia - Kincajou https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ldzDwtl6ak Astral Projection - Dancing Galaxy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAsa3fPYA5g Astral Projection - People Can Fly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5Yj6ImVc1k Man With No Name - Teleport https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lILqZze2C8 Green Nuns of the Revolution - Rock Bitch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1HI4NvCYB8 I think there was one Goa Gil one aswell ... but what was it? Curious about suggestions...
  14. That sums it up pretty well for my part aswell. And I find it still very enjoyable here -- the replies to the initial question so far speak for themselves And drama, yes, you'll never be able to eradicate that ... however, earlier I thought that the 'drama amount' is higher on psynews, but meanwhile I think it's lower here than outside of it...
  15. That would be my perception aswell... Well, I guess until the 'bandwagons of the masses' have passed through I'll just try to hide in a dark corner. It can only be for a few more years

    RIP Nemo

That is some sad news ... I have not been personal friend with him, but he was standing out for me as a very significant member of this beloved forum and I liked him a lot. Rest in peace.
  17. Very interesting! I am happy to hear I'm not the only one who has this feeling. I don't know, maybe there is a factor that I myself have changed, but I have a feeling that this is enhanced by outer factors who amplify it a great deal... The sound doubtlessly is a factor too ... but as astralprojection said, I also can't pinpoint a single synth or production technique to be responsible for it. Seems to be more complex.
  18. IMO you could enlarge the list of poll options with: "most physical, only few digital" and vice versa... I voted physical. However it's: 90% physical and only that. 10% go to digital but only if there is no other choice at all. The last Magnetrixx EP for example, there was just no other way to get it. However, I buy only those digital releases I really really NEED. There are a ton that I like, but I don't buy. Atmos for example, I like him and there's a ton of good tunes released digitally ... but I won't buy them. And meanwhile I don't even illegally download anything copyright-protected anymore, I just listen on youtube... Digital releases have become somewhat tiresome to me, as off the chart as this may sound. Yes the practicality is supposed to be increased with them, but I have to organize the files, manage playlists ... and not forget about them and such ... already the point of reserving my mental capacity to think that I have these files and also 'should' listen to them (when it does not concern an artist that I superbly like) is enough to make me prefer physical, which I can see, touch and feel. I used to have a collection of mp3s ... but that is so "00s" to me already (it feels ... while it's more like up to 2013, 2014...), I didn't even take the backup of my playlist to my new computer ... it's lost but I don't even care. On the 'puter, listening to mp3s I always get distracted ... with my CD player not because the CD player can't multitask and I can't play Hearthstone or read blog entries about the downfall of the western economic world while playing music, I can only look through the booklet and slowly caress the CD case with my fingers..... And who needs mp3s anyway, Youtube is the thing for me now, all "digital" music I listen to there now... no goddamn loading directories into Winamp ... laziness over matter.
  19. If you meant to ask "Which music event did I go to recently" then my answer would be: Paradise Winter Festival (because it was a little bit more than a week ago ) Ace Ventura played, which was nice. And I have signed a peace treaty with Hitech ... I still don't actively like it, but it doesn't wanna make me shoot myself anymore. Which I call a great improvement. Decoration was good, I liked that. Sound was awesome, only the volume too loud for me already. From the rest I didn't see much anymore ... the air was terrible. And the lights that they switched to "dizzy mode" (it must 've been) in the second half of the night I outright hated. Every time there was a flash into my eyes from one of the beams no matter where I looked. Went home at maybe four already. My clothes stank so bad after I came home I had to make a pile in the corner of the room and didn't dare to touch it for a few days. Reminded me of the time I used to be into techno ... regardless, I didn't feel well as I was at home, needed hours to calm down, bass to strong... ... anyway watch out when the next post of me will be in this thread, I rarely go to psy parties anymore. Which is why I enjoyed this post now, as flat as this may sound
  20. About drugs ... we here in Austria have this institution that comes to parties with lab equipment and offers to test the drugs anonymously. And I have to say, it's very interesting for me to watch the wall where they post the results... I can't say I ever saw more cocaine around. On the last party I was just little more than a week ago there were seven (7even) results on the drug test wall saying "should contain: cocaine; contains: cocaine + levamisol" -- and that were only the ones that contained something else, there was even more cocaine tested there, some of it pure and some of it containing "cocaine, levamisol + unknown substance" Years ago cocaine was in the minority ... it has upped quite some. The mushrooms and lsd are still there, but it's declining. Interestingly, that stuff tends to get more pure and less laced with other substances. Speaks to me: 'acid is not attractive to buy on the street anymore' ... the acid heads are obviously "falling back" into their community. But all them new kids on the block want to try the cocaine from the bad pushers who lace it... speaks for their culture, always on the look for a thrill, not laid back anymore.... ok sorry not all are like that but you get the point. But here's another, more weirder thing: Years ago I could dance with my eyes closed and never felt uncomfortable, I could almost "sleep dancing" and feel 'warm and cozy' if I may say so ... now when I close my eyes for too long while dancing it's like I feel some eyes staring at me from the side or a dark, unidentifiable mass coming at me from the back ... OK it's not that I am paranoid, but it just doesn't feel so good anymore... I wonder where this stems from. Is it the music? Are the tracks now laced with subliminal soundscapes that suggest this feeling? It's hard to get one self together and really check what's what sound wise when the bass is so loud that the kicks make my teeth grind and the basslines make all the hairs on my body vibrate. Because the sound itself has a louder volume nowadays too. Not always for the good...
  21. Very nice track. I like that kind of liquid DnB ...but I don't know many artists who sound like this... LAOS is one I know ... but it mostly has vocals, depends if you like that. This is one of the best I could find from them on searching again: Albeit it sounds cheesy on second hearing ... well whatever maybe this you like better: you are only allowed to post a certain numer of vids as a spam prevention
  22. Some pages ago there was a saying that for me is the essence ... concerning that these people always are taking -- but when it comes to giving something, the ice gets quite thin... 2 cents to that: At parties, a very trivial example is when some people, apparently high beyond the roof, clumsily make their way through the crowd and bump into them (say, a harmless bump, not some "jerk on speed who's catching flies hitting people" kind of "disruption") -- that's the point where it gets interesting ... one can observe various reactions from some people being kind, give them a hug or whatnot before they send them on their way (they give them a little of their time) ... and some who are openly showing annoying faces to these bumpers up to getting rude by pushing them off. And while this is not only limited to the people who look like "hippies", or wear clothes associated with that culture, it's especially there where the behavior stands in stark contrast... Best sight are these "Bademeister" (german word for "people looking like lifeguards - musculous and brown skin") guys in one of these shirts with an Aum or Buddha on it, losing it on one of the drugheads
  23. I forgot Son Kite last album is somewhat different ... unique path nonetheless
  24. greetings and a late happy b-day to us ...is the 20 year Twisted party this year?
  25. as not yet mentioned ones I'd say: Banco De Gaia and Shiva Chandra And I would rather have mentioned Solar Fields instead of Aes Dana ... because even in Ultimae territory, his sound has stayed quite unique to me. But maybe that's just taste. And back in the days I'd have said S-Range ... but that does not count so much anymore. Yet even though the sound has changed a lot, the production remains quite peculiar... ...and for a non-psy one, see my sig :-)
