  1. That is increasingly true. I was, however, thinking in the direction of certain "full album" videos. I doubt many of them are officially supported. But anyway, I think the future of the scene will be even more openness to the digital world, meaning lots of stuff available for free. The money is not to be found in the CD (or pay-per-download) department anymore anyway, but rather in the live business (at least, if anywhere). Prices of festivals and parties might probably rise, but not only because of that. And is mycel really to blame for that? Maybe they'll also try to increase the physical release's attractiveness further through limitation and packaging with interesting artwork or other goods (like it's the case where they issue a "standard release" and a "limited edition"). I think they should ... I'd not be unhappy if the times of just having a CD and a two page booklet are traded for more attractive packaging -- that would also help the music (physical release) regain its status as a work of art ... I would even be happy if they brought vinyl back, I feel like vinyls were treated with more dignity...
  2. Do you know they really pay for the releases? I remember the case with the S-Range album, years ago, that never got released on the market ... well, it got released over one of these warez groups. I doubt they were paying for this piece as it wasn't available anywhere. Labels usually give out some promos ... and these, I thought, then end up on the net under one of the aforementioned names. I doubt that they were paid for -- or well, at least most of them... In any way, even if they were paid or not, the moment you download one and don't own a copy by having bought it, you steal... Problem is, nowadays you don't even need these warez distributors anymore ... people upload it to youtube anyway. And it's still stealing. Yet I admit, I too listen to stuff on youtube. Earlier there was still the "barrier" to download the thing via p2p and such ... now most is just a click away. Bad times for labels. Fortunately the youtube stuff sometimes has poor quality, so there's at least one thing that you don't get.
  3. I think the idea with the pre-party is actually a good one ... and in that context, I'd be for something such as next years' Ozora or anything like that. Let's see what it will turn out to be
  4. well, happy birthday about your request with the account merge, I can't promise anything ... but drop me a PM and I'll see if I can do anything for you
  5. It is a great idea. However, it depends if you want to call it "official" when in the end it might turn out just as a venue of "some members" because everybody might put in his own vote for a location convenient to him/her. I don't want to verbally put it down by any means, I just don't know if the word "official" should be so lightly used. It would be great to have a member gathering though. The last try for it failed, but it was many years ago ... I'm sure it's possible. But hey, I'm up for it any time! I am based in Austria, so a party in Vienna would be just right for me -- Vienna also lies relatively in central Europe, so it's good to reach from a variety of countries. Anyway, that's just more of the above, when I only propose my country for a location All that needs to be done is to cash in money for the location rent (if there is going to be one, but most likely everywhere there is going to be one, otherwise we are in danger of annoying the neighbours) from the people that will arrive beforehand. I said that in another thread already. Not even everybody must pay, just the rent needs to be covered ... and how it is sorted out then at the venue, we will see... I'm interested what others say about it.
  6. Yep, the guy I know also uses an ecig of that mentioned type ... it's no cigarrette-lookalike, it's rather as big as a cigar... Also, Radi, there is one more possibility if you don't want to smoke your tobacco: you can sniff it. I just got around this again and dug out my snuff, it's already a year old or so, but seems as good as new to me, tastes the same like I bought it... It seems to be quite addictive though, at least for me, I must admit ... since I dug it out again, I always wanna take another nose ... so be careful. The one that I bought is called "Gletscher Prise" ... it's awesome. Almost too awesome. I want another nose now, really... Another thing is "Snus", the stuff from Sweden. Chewing tobacco. I tried that aswell already and I must say, I kinda liked it, but it's quite evil stuff ... first I swallowed the juice and got sick, since then I always have to spit when I take it, which makes it uncomfortable when around people who aren't your friends...
  7. Pryda - The End That track was a real surprise for me. I liked it a lot ... and it also opened the gate to the world of Pryda - and with it, Eric Prydz - for me, I like him a lot ... even though his music is not psytrance, this track indeed is, at least as much as it gets Thanks to Lemmi, whom I remember to have mentioned this track here ... without that, I wouldn't know anything

Thanks for the explanation, I didn't know he died ... I also don't know what the banner exactly said, I only remember the word Hannemann ... but that explained it quite well...
  9. If there ever would be a "gathering", I think the best would be a rented location ... a hall of some sorts, in a big town ... size depending on how many people come ... can also be just a room in a club or whatever, as long as psy music can be played... Money for the whole thing would have to be payed in advance by all (or at least almost all) participants so that nobody is left alone with big leftover costs if people don't come. That's just as a shot in the blue, whatever come of it. But that aside, I rather think it will be a small meet and greet if you ever came here...

Saw Slayer playing in summer and there they had the same thing with the Heineken logo. Must be their new thing. I don't get the joke though.
  11. unplugged: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWYxHZ01c1w Wonder when this will show up in psy culture -- meaning, in tracks by people The first hang players are already out on the streets ... already saw one...
  12. Manuser, you rock! That one has been the most atmospheric track I knew back then when I still listened to trance mainly. I was a big fan of the Talla and Taucher guys because of it. As I have a trance past, I listened to lots of this eurodance/euphoric/emotional stuff. Here's just a sample of tracks I remember: I was a big fan of DJ Quicksilver ... the man had some good tunes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_BM6j5DGPA I also liked that tune, Koala - Australia (the old original one): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJURJtHNoak And from Tiesto ... that one was my favourite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRIGWAyDzD8 But if you want a real euphoric tune, try this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0c6JnHeEw8 Ohhhh ... it feels like a still wet road after the rain when the sun comes out again ... with these synths, hissing like the tires ... far, wide, open, fresh and so nicely fast - depends on the car you are driving though

I second that. I am so fed up of these phone recording faggots who then put up videos on youtube with bad optics and a horrific sound quality. It's awful! And the dozens of phone screens held up in the air look absolutely pathetic! Fortunately I was too busy with headbanging on my last concerts to care too much about them, but I'm absolutely behind you on this. I don't know why they don't forbid this. Maybe one day it will come. But until then we will have to wait
  14. Sorry Oopie, to me you ruined it Here is a better one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfEAIakpf5E By the way, that's also not the one I loved so much. I gave it up. I am through almost every remix of this that's on the net already. The one you posted, the "New York Version", the Michael Cassette remix (good!), Kebu's version, the Ben Liebrand mix, the Tiga Remix (which is called Ocean Drive ... pure horror ), Damzen's Euphoria mix, Sabo FX remix ... and soooooo many more ... it's not among them. It's an ancient track. Probably 1996 or even earlier. I am comforting myself with some Falco tunes ... hey, this guy actually had a great style with some real awesome electronic stuff, like Mutter Der Mann Mit Dem Koks Ist Da: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0m7bHdcq87o this guy was one of the best musicians Austria ever had
  15. ^ Same is valid for Vienna ... drop me a line if you ever get here I must say I'm almost jealous at everybody who has the chance to visit Scotland ... awesome place, I like it a lot If I had the chance to do a visit to Europe I would probably visit Hamburg and maybe be lucky to visit one of the parties with typical "Hamburg sound". I would also drop by in eastern Europe, maybe Prague or Budapest or further east. You can pass through Vienna on your way there. And then France and Belgium and Amsterdam -- those would be also good destinations. And then also Sweden, but that's probably not so good in Winter -- better stay south, maybe Greece or Spain?
  16. Radi, the Suzan Vega track and the Miami Vice theme are in my own personal list of favourite songs aswell ... but your constant mentioning of why nobody replies on these kinda ruined the good feeling for me to talk about them here Funnily enough the Crockett's Theme is one of my all time favourites and I am constantly on the hunt for a special remix I heard as I was little ... none of the existing ones that I heard so far was the right one. But anyway ... here are some of my favourite tracks: Da Hool - Wankers On Duty http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eto_2Xgcpi8 Anthony Rother - Father http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj9H2ofWNJI Kraftwerk - The Man Machine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mkd7LbQnfIQ
  17. Uuuh damn I felt like I almost had it ... and then I see that you've found the name already. Anyway, the remix is good indeed ... I don't like the singing (which is why I generally am not into that kind of music), but the part with the four tone ambient tune that plays in the background at 2:00 onwards (for example), that one is what does it for me. The sound -- meaning only the caracteristic of the sound, not the structure or melody -- reminds me a bit of songs like Eric Prydz - Call On Me and Daft Punk - One More Time... Do you like these aswell?

hehe, it was good. Really good. But the aggression was less than on the albums ... that's understandable though. After all the venue (a far too small hall in Vienna, but with a good soundsystem) was very filled up with people ... so there was no moshpit or something, there was just too little room for that and also the people were not so much of that type -- there were old and young, all mixed together in the crowd. Which was cool. It's challenging anyway, to bring so many different eras of their musical life into one set ... but they did it quite well. With a lot of old stuff -- Alison Hell, King Of The Kill, Refresh The Demon -- loved that ... and also their new stuff and even their newest album, which I didn't know before. All nice and solid. They played nice and long ... with only one larger break that consisted of three ballads -- I hate ballads, so it was good to have these done in one go. They let the drummer play a solo which was insane. It felt like ten minutes only him trashing the whole drumset like a madman. Awesome! I'm happy that I was there
  19. Now that is interesting... I remember I had a Shiva Chandra - Libellula mp3 ... was years ago ... but that one sounded differently. Meanwhile it got lost completely because my ipod crashed ... also already years ago It could be mislabeled (either mine or the one on youtube), but I would prefer to know fully. I tried to research this for the last half an hour or so (as I am a Shiva Chandra freak), but didn't find much more than the previous poster ... however, some sites mark the Libellula track to be 7:55 long -- and Mendrem to be 6:53 long ... which would speak for me having heard a different one, despite if it was mislabeled or not... there's now the following possibilities: 1.: the Libellula track on youtube is the correct one and the mp3 I had was mislabeled and it was the other track on the vinyl (Mendrem) 2.: the Libellula track on youtube is mislabeled, being the other track on the vinyl (Mendrem) and the mp3 I had was the correct one 3.: the Libellula track on youtube is something totally different (so, not from that vinyl at all) because the references above indicate different track lengths By the way Imba, how did you find that so quick?! The video was added on youtube only yesterday and I don't even find it by searching
  20. Yes, that is explainable. Gingko increases your blood throughput (I don't know how to better put this into words), that explains the mentioned "enhancements". Simply because there is more blood available in the body at every moment, all things also tend to function better. Back then when I was playing more shooter games I liked to drink Gingko tea because of these enhancements I don't think you can compare the effects of it to real drugs though. I never got any colors. My cheeks just got red. I haven't taken it in really big quantities, however... But ... you are obviously a very sensible person, Radi. It's likely that you are more sensible to already "weak" substances such as Gingko or black tea. Nothing wrong with that though, better keep it that way and keep exploring ... I'd just rather word the statement: "to you, Gingko is like a drug" It could probably be used as an enhancer for real drugs, I would imagine. So you'd need less to get more (unless you don't catch a bad combination, I don't know if there are any). Interesting what others would say about it.
  21. I had Windows 8 at work and it had a contribute in me hating the company because I had to work with it. I hated that there was no start button. And the compatibility of the applications was not 100% to my perception, although my boss denied that to me... Oh well, the new release of 8.1 won't help me now, I don't have the job anymore I find your PC cool, Lemmi ... there's no point in buying the new stuff anyway when you don't need it.
  22. Thanks for the compliment about my country's energy politics, Radi, but here is a thing about the ecological energy in Austria you probably don't know ... people don't talk about this much, but it's real: The ecologically friendly energy that is produced here in Austria via hydropower and wind is not consumed here, it is sold ... it is exported out of the country, to foreign companies. For the amount of ecologically friendly energy that we sell, we buy cheap dirty (atomic or coal) energy from plants near the border (for example Mochovce). As we sell our ecological energy for a higher price than we buy the cheap atomic power, our politicans live quite well off the profit It's hypocrisy. Because we always said no to atomic energy in our country -- and then we buy it?! Until some time this was really a bad situation we couldn't change. But now there finally exist power companies who don't sell the ecological energy but really provide it to the people ... sadly they are expensive and my family can't afford that ... so we continue the false game of actually consuming dirty atomic power, at least in parts The only good thing is, that the eco power we produce is put to good use, no matter what. The buy and sell thing is practically just a thing that exists on paper. Still, it exists and that is bad, because of this atomic power plants do have more customers for their energy which makes their profits higher - and that should not be!
  23. I don't wanna sound stupid (there are a number of people out there saying it's bullshit) but ... tried an e-cig already? A friend of mine is full-time smoker (meaning: more than your 2 ciggies a day, Radi ... although not a full pack ... maybe half) and he uses that now with great satisfaction -- it's basically a device that vaporizes pure (or almost pure) nicotine solution ... saves money, can smoke where it's not allowed (no fire, no air pollution, no smell) and is much more clean and also healthier than smoking cigarrettes... By the way, it's not the shit you see on TV that looks like a plastic cigarrette ... it's a bigger thing, looks more like one of those thin flashlights ... is good!
